101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Importance of Bitcoin during the Pandemic on: October 10, 2020, 06:40:22 PM
I think it depends, because not everyone will easily earn with bitcoin other than that, those who work from home during this pandemic will at least still get paid by way of transfer, of course they will still use fiat for their income. For that reason, I think bitcoin will remain in its own portion, because even though many people currently work from home it doesn't guarantee they will immediately trade or invest in the cryptocurrency market, because this era is a digital era that I think banks and institutions and / or other companies have provided convenience with digital systems.

Same, I don't even see why the connection of bitcoin during the pandemic honestly. Just like what I've said before, people during these times are relying to online fiat banks. I'm into bitcoin but I never use it during my transfers while at home. We always choose what is efficient and because we lack adoption, online fiat is the efficient one for everyday use.

We can't also say that if someone is unemployed, he can get in to bitcoin right away, he should have a viable reason, and a high percentage of really earning. Cause what they need is a solid chance of earning, and they can't really get it here right away. We are lucky cause we have signature campaigns, but this will be not profitable for them as a job.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 09, 2020, 02:52:45 PM
No Bam? Bet on Miami ML, that's what I read in some of the NBA forum in other sites.
It doesn't matter if Bam will play or not, that's what they believe because the last time Bam was out, Heat got a good win, I think that was by 11 points.

No one in their right mind bets against lebron in a closeout game.  On top of that in the mamba uniform.  Lebron is a lock for a triple double and 3-4 blocks on top of that.  When lebron is motivated, nobody can stop him.

I am not in my right mind then.  Grin
Lebron is motivated, no doubt about that. But so does the Heat.
I am going against the flow. I am that kind to bet for the underdog and I am going full with Heat ML.
Let's say I am one of the fools hoping for the Heat to give a better game against the Lakers team.

Bam (neck sprain)
But he is "good to go" as said by Coach Erik Spoelstra.
https://www.rotoworld.com/basketball/nba/player/30440/bam-adebayo

Damn, I wish I have that courage to bet on something like this, but I understand the motivation you see from the heat. I still see this as a win for the lakers but yup a chance is still a chance, even how low the percentage is, we've seen this many times. Heat is really the underdog, Lakers has a line up that is too powerful. But we already know heat can win against them so there is still the "maybe". Maybe I would somehow understand you more if they win next game. I have a soft heart with underdogs winning just like in films and animes lol.
103  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: October 09, 2020, 02:38:48 PM
Everything is unstable as long as there is a pandemic. Businesses halted operations due to supply problems. Supplies for a specific business takes too long to arrive beacuse of the tight security and of course shipment crews needs to be quarantined everytime they cross borders. That is why small businesses are affected and we workers as well. I know the only thing that will help me survive this crisis is cryptocurrency that is why I am active here again because fiat had failed me.

What is your story with fiat and cryptocurrency during pandemic? This is again the battle of centralized and decentralized assets and activity in the middle of a crisis. In your own experiences and opinion which of the two will win?

In a way I also lose a part of my salary as a freelancer in film and advertisement, I lost some of my projects because of the pandemic, same thing with other people too. But still I'm lucky I have other source of income and remaining projects even during the pandemic, signature campaign helps me too. I don't really think fiat failed you, it's the pandemic, the effects of having it, fiat is still doing good for other people, specially the millionaires and billionaires, fiat is still needed, maybe exchange rates went down but still it doesn't go all the way down. The situation you are in is the problem, I hope you've find yourself a job as soon as possible.

105  Other / Off-topic / Re: [PSA]: FBI gives warning about using WIFI in Hotels on: October 09, 2020, 02:13:29 PM
Too bad I've been doing it a lot whenever I'm out, who doesn't want free something anyway. Thank god I think I'm still safe with cyber theft or something. Is there any chance you would know if a WIFI is safe or not? Or the only choice we have is to not use one. No problem with me not using it but I've always thought about those who need it specially those who needs it for emergency use or something, or those who can't afford data. Governments provide free WIFI for their people too. for students it's helpful specially when everything about school is online, the same with my city but it's too slow. I hope their WIFI is safe, I hope.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A case of the pandemic changing the score and affecting sports betting on: October 09, 2020, 01:51:30 PM
The pandemic is affecting many areas, including sports. There've been discussions of how the home advantage doesn't fully come into play on empty stadiums, and on many events getting cancelled, resulting in people betting on stuff they would not normally be interested in. But yesterday happened something I did not think of before. It was football match France vs Ukraine. I've looked at predictions and France was expected to win, so the outcome of the match did not change. However, the score was predicted to be around 3-0, whereas Ukraine actually lost 7-1. One could think that things happen, and what does the pandemic have to do with an unfortunate game, but it has lots to do. According to Ukrainian Association of Football, due to traumas and positive COVID-19 tests more than a half of the current squad wasn't able to play yesterday. Three strong players tested positive on the eve of the match (with two more testing positive a few days ago), and Ukraine was left with only one goalkeeper.
This match went not as expected, but the outcome did not change, but this is just one case. What if the outcomes will change due to key players testing positive and weaker ones playing? Wouldn't it twist the games a lot, making them less predictable and less satisfying?
Do you think it's a big factor to take into account given the current situation?

It is a factor definitely. We are currently in a health crisis and for athletes to perform well, they need to be physically healthy. And we already know that even healthy ones can acquire the virus. Ukraine was really unlucky having players with the virus, I don't want to say that it's better if the weaker ones will get it but it will kind of change too. Virus doesn't choose actually. It's my concern with the NBA before too but it wasn't affected as much as this one. If I would gamble too, I would want to know who will play or not, it's the same thing even before the virus, whos injured? Who's going to play, a star player got traded. It's just a different scenario but somehow the same thing. It's even worse now cause some players would even want to choose not playing because of the threat.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: October 09, 2020, 01:00:25 PM
I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions even when it faster and easier, they still don’t prefer using it, I have noticed this a lot, Some classes of human,Sometimes when they are to receive money from another country like international transfer sometimes it takes 2 3 days to arrive,They will advise them to use bitcoin and they still don’t accept it even it faster and easier. Now how come we make bitcoin come to people.

I don't really see bitcoin faster than online banking, cause maybe I'm poor I can't afford to pay a high fee but still, it ain't that fast. I still prefers fiat debit/credit card than using btc for something. The availability of btc to people is a reason why they avoid it too. Of course behind a fact that almost everywhere, bitcoin has this image of being used in illegal things or scam even though fiat is also involved with those kind of things. Btc adoption could be the change but it is another problem too.
108  Other / Meta / Re: Beginners Mistake on: October 04, 2020, 08:41:24 PM
I experienced something heart broken here as a newbie couple of weeks ago. Yes I understand the fact these platform/Forum have rules governing it but as humans we are prone to make mistakes and take correction. I wrote a topic here couple of weeks ago and someone I sopose to be a serious member of these forum reported my post for plagiarism, reasons being he/she highlights some line of my sentence and   claimed it’s copy and paste, that action cost me a lost. There are better ways to correct and guide a newbie or beginners without having to condemn their post, We aren’t robot we all humans and we rise by lifting others. Please our senior members and legends should look into these or probably initiate a means to educate newbies and beginners so we don’t fall victim always while trying to create our own post just like other members of the forum.

Oops, I don't know what to feel reading this one, felt cringy that it sounded like OP is trying to gain our sympathy but like someone already said, he again committed a mistake to deserve a ban once again. Just like you said we are all human and we commit mistakes, and as a human, we should accept our mistake and at the same time accept the punishment of that mistake. But what you did is commit another mistake just to explain yourselves and try to gain sympathy with it. It sounded like you are condemning the moderators with the actions they did to you, forgetting that you are the one who committed the mistake in the first place.

I think the best thing you can do is accept that you did it wrong, learn from it, accept the punishment of your actions, then do better next time, not only in this forum but in the real world. Learning the hard way. At least you've learned that plagiarism is never okay in any platform in the world.
109  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▄■▀■▄ 🌟BITVEST.io🌟 💰WIN BY 🔶PLAY 📈INVEST➡🔺🎲🎰🔲 | (NEW!) BETTING CONTESTS on: October 04, 2020, 08:27:23 PM
Not only Bitvest, but all gambling site in general is more preferable to play in laptop and computer this is for easy navigation you can see everything and you will not strain your eyes looking at those small fonts, it's good and comfortable to play in your computer or laptop, but apart from the interface the server and your internet connection also plays a big part.
Nope, i prefer to play through phone/mobile since it's more easier if you want to gamble anywhere and anytime you want as long as you have the internet connection. Check out Yolodice, as example, very mobile friendly and the design is simple but elegant (no offense about bitvest though)

I think it depends really on how mobile friendly the site is. I would prefer using mobile if the site is easy to use in mobile cause I wanted to be comfortable lying down or sitting in a sofa. Gambling is just a past time for me so I sometimes use a phone with it. So maybe some prefers laptop and pc's but we can't deny that mobile users are existing too just like me. Depends with the kind of game you are playing too, some games are best with bigger screen and some are just all right even in phones. So I think gambling websites should do something with the efficiency of their gambling websites in mobile phones cause both are being used by their target market.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mediocre/People. on: October 04, 2020, 08:16:13 PM
There's no other way to make them feel comfortable except by educating them about Bitcoin and related services centered around it. Aren't you the same? Would you feel good if you use some currency that you don't know at all?

There is no need to force everyone to use Bitcoin either. Just let them learn what it is and decide where they can use it.

I understand this feeling,  I still remember the feeling when I first heard of bitcoin from someone, It feels like I'm getting into something interesting and dangerous, the feeling that I will earn  a lot of money and it's not in the right way. This is why I always inform my friends about bitcoin if they are interested into it, not because I wanted them to try using bitcoin cause I felt like I will sound like a creep forcing them to use it. I specifically don't talk about bitcoin to those who I didn't personally know I will sound worst to them. The challenge here is we are already surrounded with the ads and scams about bitcoins, if you casually and force people to listen to you about bitcoin, they will feel like you are one of those scammers. So it's a no for me if no one is asking and interested.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone accidentally sent or received BTC to and from another address? on: October 04, 2020, 08:06:42 PM

But is it almost impossible to send btc to the wrong address assuming you are off one letter or a bit off?  Or is odds going to show that address is incorrect?  Thus imagine the last letter or number you mean was f and typed e or it was 9 and typed e or 8... are the odds so low that... the address you wrote a letter off is incorrect?  Also all btc and those addresses are the exact number of characters right?

Never experienced this but I think the only mistake that can be possible here is copying a wrong address cause it's natural to make mistakes like that, copying the wrong address of someone specially if you are sending btc to a lot of people and you are just copy pasting their wallet before sending. This is the reason why I'm always scared sending my btc to a wallet of mine, cause I'm too scared coppy-pasting the wrong one lol. But 1 letter bit off or 1 letter mistake is kind of impossible, I'm not sure but just 1 letter off then there's another person with the wallet like that? I don't think so, there are so many combinations in our wallet address, and kind of impossible to think that there is a wallet address 1 letter of with your wallet address.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Read the rules and don't post plagiarised content. on: October 04, 2020, 07:55:47 PM
Really beginners are been banned  because of  ignorant which  caused by lack of information, from my perspective  no newbies  who intentionally  plagiarized because he wants to earn merit, it's based on they are new to community and they have not acclimatised  with the rules and regulations of the forum to know that plagiarism has it implications to the community, because  I find out that some beginners  don't know the area or board they  can fine the rules of the forum, so therefore  in that aspect  their are totally  deformed  about  plagiarism.

I should disagree with you saying that no newbies would intentionally plagiarized cause they didn't see the rules, that's just not an acceptable reason, better way is to say sorry and just accept the punishment they deserve. Plagiarism is always and will always be not okay in the real world. In school, in work, ideas, business. The rule of plagiarism isn't created here in this forum. They should know that no one can steal the work of others. Are there any platform where plagiarism is all right?

I understand that they are newbies, they are still getting familiarized with the forum. But the topic here is plagiarism, even without seeing the rules, they should've known already that plagiarism isn't welcome anywhere. I would accept the reason that they can't find where the rules are and etc. if we are talking about the rules that are only here in bitcointalk, but it's their responsibility too. Some newbies are responsible, they can do it too.
113  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social media and tv making us adult before time? on: October 04, 2020, 07:43:12 PM
I will disagree with you. Immorality has been there since time immemorial. Yes, I personally don't like the current trend where children seem to be much more exposed to adult content but the past wasn't any good. If you go back in time, I believe things were far much worse and brutal, only that there was not enough media coverage to report such incidents.

For example during the times of World Wars and revolution. Children were forced to become Adults before time by getting recruited as Child soldiers. Abduction, Raping and defilement of young girls was the order of the day. This kind of things can't happen in the current situation without causing a stir.

We can't really blame it all with the technology, and yup I agree that immorality is already present before even without the technology. It just provides a different source. Adult content back then where provided in magazines and children sometimes save their money for the adult content, or an adult dvd. It will all comes to how the child is supervised by someone. Even today with the technologies surrounding us, there are still children who are growing fine. TV has regulation board too, they are picking what to show and not. I am not disagreeing with the fact that tv and phones make other children stay inside their houses, but it's not the sole reason why adult content and etc. is in existence.

And I see children playing outside too, even in this pandemic actually, maybe because some can't afford to have their own phone, and they still prefer playing outside.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain a Good Career? on: October 04, 2020, 07:33:45 PM
Blockchain is another opportunity for those Computer-related courses. It is a different level of technology and I'm sure that most of the business will surely adopt this blockchain soon.

Many of the IT right now is taking the path of being a blockchain programmer, it will give them a different level of learning. Actually, bitcoin is already giving us opportunities to earn, while the blockchain is an opportunity to develop our modern technology. That's why I really appreciate the inventions of Satoshi Nakamoto because it's a great help for us.

The fact is that the principle of the blockchain is closely linked with knowledge of different programming languages! For example, Java or Python...
And since programmers are always in demand, the specialists in the blockchain will also be in demand!

True, one of my goal in life is to learn programming and of course the blockchain technology. Too sad that some programmers here in my country doesn't receive the right compensation for their hardwork. I think it will be a good career once you find the right platform where your talent can be useful. Freelancing websites have a strong competition right now. I think in the future, blockchain specialist will be more needed by the different companies using the technology. I've always heard the companies are already integrating it to their operation.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 03, 2020, 09:05:29 PM
I hope that Miami will wake up for their loss. 2-0 should be enough for them to regain their confidence in court.

I hope so but honestly I'm seeing the other way around. Seeing Game 2 performance, I'm seeing no chances that their "confidence" is really there. Can't see some adjustment to other Heat players as I don't want to take the reason that the Lakers are too much them.

And now down to 0-2, I don't know what kind of inspiration should they need to get back on track. Actually, losing is fine but I'm hoping they don't give the Lakers an easy win.

Game 3 is there deciding game. If they lose it, I doubt they will be at 100% in Game 4.

I can't see Miami getting back to this, Lakers is just too strong this season, a superstar team. In part of Miami, injured players makes it harder for them to win even just a single game. I want to see longer finals, but with this huge difference, I am inclining to believe that this will end in game 4 already. But still hoping a slight change if some players will already play next game, I just hope no one would push themselves to acquire another injury.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 03, 2020, 08:55:58 PM
Fajardo the best player in the PBA is not joining the bubble but good news he starts his own training too for his comeback.

Fajardo returns to SMB practice court flashing three-point shooting touch

Quote
JUNE Mar Fajardo took a huge step in his recovery from a leg injury as he stepped on the court for the first time in eight months this week.

While the rest of San Miguel returned to practice at the Angeles University Foundation gym in Clark, Pampanga, the SMB cornerstone continued his own comeback bid at the Acropolis gym in Quezon City, putting up some shots with the help of assistant coach Boycie Zamar and staff Andrew Bulahan.

The six-time MVP showed his progress from tibia surgery in his newest video on his Youtube channel AHOS gaming on Thursday, entitled “FINALLY!! Nakabalik na din sa court!”

“After eight long months nakabalik na din sa court. Slowly but surely lang,” Fajardo said. “Salamat sa lahat ng mga prayers nyo at suporta, naappreciate ko kayo ng husto!”

It's best seeing him back inside the court. Knowing how he missed it even it's just a practice the intention brings back his lust in playing, he have to work it out as he's aging also and the conditioning for his physical health is really important.

When I read your post about his 3 point touch, it's excite me imagine his soft touch move and that baby fadeaway.
I wonder if he will also do some side step 3 point jumper HAahaha..

Kidding aside, even he will be missed inside the bubble preparing for the next season might be starting for him now.

For sure this will be a big chance for others to step up their game. JMF is the one athlete that makes it harder for other teams to get a higher spot. If he ain't playing in the bubble then it will really take a toll to his team. But are there any other star player who will not play during this conference? Although JMF will not be in the bubble, I still see SMB as an all star team, cause even without JMF, they are still strong and for sure can still win games.

I hope the safety of all the players inside the bubble, at last, we are once again having the PBA league!
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe NBA is rigged? on: October 03, 2020, 08:43:10 PM
I have read a lot of theories about NBA being rigged and a little portion of me were convince, so I would like to ask you.

If you believe it's rigged, is it a disadvantage or advantage to us bettors?

Share your opinion and if you have some proof, kindly post.

There will always be accusations like this in sports, it's possible but I don't want to believe that it's actually happening in NBA. It will be a lot of disappointment to the fans specially if their star player is involved. We respect the hardwork the athlete give just by winning a ring. Their competitiveness will hinder them accepting the game to be rigged.  And if it will be exposed, NBA lose will the trust of it's people. I just don't think the risk is so small for them to rigged a game. Maybe a ref or one player can be talked with it, but everyone in the franchise knowing that they need to rigged the game will be problematic, it will be exposed no matter what.

Hard to believe without a strong evidence yet cause everything can happen in sports.
118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be useful to the forum ? on: October 03, 2020, 08:23:53 PM

The issues I have :

• Even though I read a lot of topics, I am unable to answer to them, since either they have already been answered or that I don't have enough knowledge about the subject being discussed.

• I don't have a special skill set to offer some services in the services board nor am I able to make enough time to manage something like that, but I am looking into myself what I can offer so that people can benifit.

• I felt like I am being left out, it's been a few months since I am on the forum and my progress has slowed down drastically, I feel like I lack a little bit of something.

There is no doubt that everyday I am looking at something new here and learning something new, but how do I contribute too ? I don't really want to spam anything that already everyone knows. Also, I think a lot of new memebrs feel the same like me.

Calling out all the fellow members to share thier thoughts and insights on how to deal with this issue.

Thank you

There's no one in the world who has everything already, we all are lacking something and it's not new. Don't be discourage and it's alright feeling left out too. Use that to be encourage to learn more and read more. You don't even have to think about this things and just do what you are already doing, read and read. You may not feel that you are being better but you are. If there's questions you can't answer then learn from those users who replied, that's what threads are for, it ain't for the OP only, it's for everyone to learn.
119  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Mga galawan ng mga scammer sa social media on: October 03, 2020, 01:11:17 PM
Sobrang dami nilang nagco-comment niyan nakakaumay.

120  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody here trying to live bankless (using Bitcoin / cryptocurrencies)? on: October 02, 2020, 05:52:24 PM
mentally I am ready to live without a bank (using cryptocurrency only) but the majority of people around me are still not ready for that..  85% of my daily transactions use fiat money and 15% use credit cards.  I am only cannot change the system that has been embedded in the community around me..

I am currently running a vehicle washing business (cars & motorbikes), I include accepting payments via Bitcoin and Doge but no one has ever made a payment with it (not even asking for other coins).  I realize that 95% of residents in my city still don't know what cryptocurrency is, I continue to be patient because I really believe that in the future, payments via cryptocurrency will be adopted en masse..

Maybe this is the reason why those who want to try living with bitcoin only struggles to do so. Beside the volatility because it can be solved already when you are trying to buy something using btc. Again and again, we can't live in a society where it is so hard to find a place to spend our money. I've watch a short vlog of friends who tried to live a day using btc only, and they barely pulled it off. They got a hotel after so many tries, same with a restaurant. But the vlog just shows it's hard, some restaurants doesn't even know what bitcoin is. It shows the hassle it will cost you everyday just by trying to use btc, would you want to do it everyday, and of course no, no one would want to.
