1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find a good altcoin? on: May 19, 2018, 08:27:20 AM
Here is my checklist, when I am studying an altcoin:

1) Whitepaper, does it exist, does it solve a fundamental Problem
2) Is it a Protocol on its  own, or is it just a token based on an existing platform
3) Potential Network effects
4) Transparency of Team. Real faces, what have been existing steps in professional life
5) Community. Already in place, how active, just bounty hunter or good conversation about different concepts
6) Marketing, only focussing on token sale or active Management of different communication channels
7) How many coins in circulation, currently and in future
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: May 08, 2018, 08:26:40 PM
I agree. I cannot believe that there is such a jump on bytecoin, just due to the fact that it is now listed on binance. But it Looks like it is in the meantime cooling down. Has anyone any insides, what else could have caused the massive rise?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most possible Ethereum competitor? on: May 07, 2018, 05:58:30 PM
Guys! Let's list the most possible competitors of Ethereum.
At the moment, it seems to me that the strongest competitor is NEO, in the future, EOS is possible. But in fact, the ETH satisfies all the demands of the market and it will be difficult for its competitors to increase their market share even having some technical advantages.

I think this is  the Point. Yes ETH satisfies most of the demands and is in the meantime very well established. But the Problem is, that there is a gap of programmers, which can do proper solidity programming. So the Quality even for simple Services like wallets is for most not sufficient. The others have Access to a broader developper community in the Long term.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins are dying on: May 07, 2018, 04:31:43 PM
EOS is for me a big pump. There is no working product in place yet. In Addition in its  concept it has some real fear. Fact is, that it is still a ERC token and has still not its own block chain.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto will be mainstream in a few years on: May 06, 2018, 10:37:26 PM
Since now smart money is in, they will make us need crypto currencies in the future.

So you can HODL! And you will have a nice life. Enjoy!!
I don't know if the mainstream adoption of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is going to happen in just a few years that seems to soon but I agree on the principle, cryptocurrencies will become mainstream at some point, while there are many shady projects out there there are also many quality projects that cannot be simply ignored and bring value to the lives of the average person.

I agree, but I do believe, Banks are working strongly on their own crypto currencies, and it can become quicker Mainstream than we can think of.  But I also believe it is not only crypto currencies but actually the underlaying block chain Technology which will the lives of the average Person.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats wrong with Coinmarketcap? on: May 06, 2018, 10:33:31 PM
I checked it out, there are a lot of coins that don't even have a website,

is anyone here that is part of that websites managment?

regards
I did not quite understand your question. As far as I know, Coinmarketcap adds only those coins whose trading volumes exceed $ 50,000 per day and doesn't evaluate other criteria for coins.

Yes, coinmarketcap focuses on the value of the coin and not on what forms of communication it has. Apparently, a website is not the most important aspect
As far as I know, coins that listed on Coinsmarketcap are potentially legit and passed them a platform and I think a website is included on that. When it is listed they focusing on the price value and volume. So, no need to worry if there's not shown website in Coinsmarketcap as a referral whether it is a good project.

so there are still countless empty scamcoins alive on it?

i mean those are distracting market attention from projects that are actually seeking to improve something

regards

No, not necessarily. As it got mentioned already, it requires min. trade volume (50k$) daily. This is a barrier most scam coins will not overcome. And they do on an ongoing basis some cleaning. But they do not do any checks, whether a coins might be a scam coin. Here you Need to do your own due dilligence.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE OR LITECOIN on: May 05, 2018, 09:12:33 PM
Ripple itself, like that, has already shown in the past and it seems to me that this coin still has a chance to once again go well up. But by 2018 he has a lot of good news planned. Will wait. No doubt, Ripple is good because it is always a strong and active auction. Ripple cooperates with many banks, especially in Japan. Let now it's just testing, but the process is on.

What are the good News you are refering to in Terms of ripple? Ripple is one of the coins, which a very large number is still owned by the developing Entity. And yes, it Sound attracting, because it as obviously some attractions for Banks. But I do personally believe most Banks are already working on their own solution.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $50, what would you invest in? on: May 05, 2018, 09:06:08 PM
I would select a coins, which is not too expensive, but has some great potential from its use case itself. In generell I do believe strongly in Artificial Itelligence type of Projects, as I do see huge market potential for such Projects. Like Peculium, which is actually providing with its power a great guidance, on what to invest best based on all different sources of Information.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Prediction ETH up to $15,000 by this year on: May 05, 2018, 09:00:15 PM
I wish your prediction are true because it will mean that BTC will be 50000$ and all altcoin value will be multiplied by 10

Agreed, this seems to be too much of a jump. But we will see. In my point of view, the decision is not made at all, which plattforms will continue sustainably longterm. Ethereum certainly has a good chance. But others like Neo or EOS are also knocking on the door.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favorite Exchanges? on: May 05, 2018, 08:53:58 PM
Also for me binance is a good Exchange, as it has some very interesting new coins on its list. And the UI is very intuative and easy to use. In Addition Kucoin is also offers a good Portfolio of newer coins. Had just positive experience till yet with them.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 2500 on: May 04, 2018, 10:05:22 PM
I heard it could reach that price by the mid year end and not even the year end I am talking about. There are many speculations going on about the ETH and all of them are just directing this to one value and thats 2400 or 2500 + value per ETH. Really thats getting more exciting as we move further however recent hack was bad for the ETH and it pulled back the ETH growth a little back but its again moving so no worries.

Lets just hope that our holding and efforts to earn ETH will pay back.

I agree with you. But particularly the DNS attack on MEW is scaring me. The crypto world Need to find a better way, how crypto currencies can be savely be stored and also exchanged. This will Long term Impact all alt coins, not only Ethereum
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees - Hard Fork 15 May 2018 on: May 02, 2018, 08:53:45 PM
But the only thing that places Bitcoin Segwit in the Bitcoin position is it is the chain with the most accumulated proof of work. When Bitcoin Cash surpasses Bitcoin Segwit in that measure, then Bitcoin Segwit will cease being Bitcoin, and Bitcoin Cash will become Bitcoin. Just as satoshi designed.

Sure, it is arguable whether that event should ever come to pass. But them's the breaks.

BCH had far more proof of work for quite some time because of the broken difficulty mechanism. i didn't see a mass defection then or a zombie-like pivot when all the users realised there was more work.

most people don't understand that and certainly don't care about it.

bitcoin is the bitcoin that people decide it is. it doesn't matter about technical stats on whatever chain.

there are now millions of people who didn't get this for free. that's a whole lot more convincing that'll need to be done and it can't be done.

it looks like BCH has an increasingly interesting future.

as bitcoin? nope.

I agree with your statments. Nevertheless I do not understand why there are so many poeple hating it. It seems it has a great opportunity as a Money Transaction Service. Not sure, whether it Needs to be a discussion about either / or. Time will tell.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum or NEO Platform for Smart Contract Development? on: May 02, 2018, 08:36:42 PM
Yes, I`ve heard it is harder to make scams in NEO platform right?

Technically there is no difference between performing a scam on ethereum or on neo.

Ethereum has gained a lot of attention in the last year. This has attracted a lot of small legit companys, developer, so-called 'investors' and, of course, scammer.
The reason that most scammers choose to perform it on ethereum over neo is because ethereum offers a bigger audience (and therefore more people to steal money from).
Why would they using neo to scam people if they could make much more money on ethereum?

I am not sure, this is the only reason. As of my understanding NEO has gotten more constrains from chinese governement in Terms of planned ICOs. I guess it is not so easy to release something new on NEO Plattform without going through a thorough scan. Actually I guess a promise for Investors to deal with more legit ICOs on the NEO plattform.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON / TRX - What's the address and decimals for this coin? on: May 02, 2018, 08:24:21 PM
I just received 18 TRX. I did not participate at any airdrop recently. Has there been any airdrop for TRX? Is Tronix the same as TRON? Hope someone can enlighten me about this one.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔴⠀HADRON⠀DAVOS⠀🔴 The⠀real⠀Blockchain⠀AI⠀🔴⠀Sign⠀up⠀for⠀Davos⠀AI⠀bot⠀ANN⠀🔴 on: May 02, 2018, 08:16:45 PM
I've done the needed requirements, artificial intelligence is the future, so i see this as a challenging project, which if the challenges are surpassed, will lead to something great, i'm not too cool with the user interface of your website and i hope it will be reviewed

I actually like the user Interface. It is easy to use, and this is for me the main value an UI can give. I agree artificial intelligence is the future. There are so many Projects out dealing with this subject. Looking Forward to all the new to be expected developments.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: May 01, 2018, 11:30:36 PM
Too many smart contract platforms now, seems every blockchain has to have them. What does WAVES do different to any other?

In Addition to smart contract waves is offering a very easy to use decentralized Exchange. So I also believe that Waves has a bright future. But I am not so sure about, whether they do themselves a favor to have also the token creation made so easy. This causes also spam tokens.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is MEW Safe to use now? on: April 30, 2018, 08:45:40 AM
As of now, I have not logged in yet in my MEW account because of a recent Google DNS breach strategy by the hackers in which around 215 Ether were stolen from multiple accounts and were transferred in different accounts. The best advice that they had for us to login with MEW is that we should switch our DNS from Google to Cloudflare.

Does anyone know whether this DNS attack now got solved? I do not dare in the moment to log into MEW, even I would need to do some transactions. How does it work to switch DNS from Google to Cloudflare? Any advise appreciated.
