661  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: January 24, 2014, 02:19:05 AM
Trying to get into one of my ants with putty . I am in but I am not sure how to navigate to the required file to alter the clock.

This is what happens when I do.

root@antMiner:~# /etc/config/asic-freq
-ash: /etc/config/asic-freq: Permission denied

What am I doing wrong ?

that's a config file, not en executable, you need to edit it in vi

vi /etc/config/asic-freq

make sure you have a vi cheat sheet up if you're unfamiliar.

Sorry, I am a bit lost here.

Do I just type 'vi /etc/config/asic-freq' into putty ?

Ok. How exactly would I go about doing that. Do I need to download vi ?

*edit: I see your edit. Will try, thanks

That fucking plank SimonG was actually still hashing on Middlecoin up to Jan 17th.

Total bullshit artist.

Well one unit did fine on the 24 hour watch

The other died seems to be a short on the PCB that takes out the old and NEW high end PSU on over current.  12volt to ground short.

Voltage regulator died? Cap would be open circuit right not short.

Red light is on

Glad I canceld the BTC units....

But at least they both hashed 200-220 for almost 24 hrs.

What a shame after waiting this long.....should have gone all Ants cant overclock em but they seem more reliable for cheap crap.

You can OC the ants to around 200.

Huh Huh

Mining is VERY competitive.  It's an arms race against the ASIC clock.  It's also a race against the rising difficulty clock.

Asics's are coming one way or another.  I still think it will be a while before they offer the performance/price that makes sense.  Also, it will take a generation or two to really get the kinks worked out.

But if you aren't either racing to get as much coin now as you can, then you are bringing up the rear because the rest of use are building farms.  We want to collect/cash in as much BTC as possible before ASICs drive the difficulty up so much that you actually NEED said asic to mine/survive in this hobby.

+1. Finally some adults around here.

Funny how kids around here like to play with their words just so they can 1up people on the Internet.

I would not sweat it. You should hear the cpu miners cry on new scrypt coin releases Smiley

670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHA-256 altcoin pools working with CUBE [SOLVED] on: January 23, 2014, 12:08:58 AM
I've been trying to find all altcoin pools working smoothly with Asicminer CUBE miner. So far I tested PPC pool https://ppcoin.d7.lt/ with getwork address (getwork.d7.lt:8080) - it works properly without stratum proxy.

Coinotron.com works fine with stratum proxy (mining_proxy.exe) for all coins (PPC, TRC, FRC).

Unfortunately I was unable to mine at p2pool.org and coinex.pw with stratum proxy (mining_proxy.exe from http://mining.bitcoin.cz/mining-proxy-howto). The problem is on the proxy side, this software can't work with these pools for unknown reason.

Any others?

I finally managed to get connected to coinex.pw with stratum proxy. using the following.

mining_proxy.exe -o stratum.coinex.pw -gp 8332 -p 9944

It seems as if all we needed to do was put he getport first.

I used bfgminer until I figured this out but I was getting up to 30% rejects with bfg. Just like the poster above me.

At any rate stratum proxy is working fine now and I am getting full speed with minimal rejects.

Hi people,
im new here and can someone tell me why no shares and what i make wrong, i use:

-o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u my wallet address -p 123
and nothing http://s861.photobucket.com/user/scotty_tu/media/middle_zpsabb88813.jpg.html

10x

Did you miss --scrypt by any chance? Looks like it.

yes i didnt use it, because when add it, just start and disapear.

Get cgminer 3.7.2. Use --scrypt option. Run from windows command line ("cmd") so you can capture any errors.

That's not going to work for him... he's trying to use a USB ASICminer Block Erupter on Middlecoin.
so i cant use it in this pool ?

No. You really should do a bit more homework. Seriously all the information that you need is in these forums. Use the search button.

If you don't add it you cannot mine. You have another issue and it is not the fault of adding -scrypt

Status changed to shipped on both my orders, thanks Bitmain! Cant wait to get my new Ants, would likely buy some more if a coupon showed up in my account Cheesy

I also noticed that these actually shipped out yesterday and are scheduled to arrive tomorrow! Don't fret guys your ants will be mining for you shortly Cheesy

Still no shipping info. I find it hard to believe that others can have shipping info even though I purchased right at the start of the GB.

Hi, we shipped out by sequences, but we did not get the tracking number by sequences.... So please don't worry, the tracking number will be provided soon.

What kind of shipping company gives out tracking numbers in such a random way.

Thing is, even the ethernet isn't recognised!!
I use the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H and can't even get connection with that one...

Yeah. I had the same issues trying to set it up on one of mine too (G1 Sniper 5). There is a problem with this and Gigabyte mobos.

Did the doge net hash seriously just surpass Litecoin? Lots of miners switching over!

Doge hashrate is almost at 100 GH/s. Litecoin is just at 70 GH/s. Payouts are back to how it was in mid-december for 1 or 2 days only...

What do you think happens when middlecoin dumps dogecoins equal to 544 BTC later today? MASSIVE CRASH!!! ONLY IDIOTS WHO BELIEVE THIS IS A GOLD RUSH WHO JUST STARTED!

Someone sounds like they are butt hurt. Made a bad decision did you ? Not to worry, I am sure that fool you took advice from has your back.

Tard.

their power consumption is little better than four R9 280x gpus, but no resale value when the mining boom ended.

I've been wondering about this.... I mean, I assume we are all in this for the long run because we believe that cryptocoins have a future. If we are wrong and the coins go to zero... then yes, ASIC's and such will drop in value to 0.

But let me ask you... given that we know there are probably hundreds of thousands of GPU's out there dedicated to just mining. If the value goes to zero and mining has no value... what will happen to those cards?

People will dump them and they will flood the market... and granted the market for GPU's is much bigger but still relatively small. Your R9 290x will be going for 1/5th of what it is worth because EVERYONE will be dumping them.

1/5th is better than no 1/5th. Personally I think they would be worth more than that.

Today I' ve ordered and paid two Antminers . Status of my order is :" Paid Unshipped Valid " I don't have received any confirmation email. Is it normal ?

I ordered two on the 19th as I posted above and have not received one word of anything since so yes I guess this is normal.

Even though someone who ordered seven hours after me now has shipping info so I don't know what to think.

Received confirmation this order shipped now.

No confirmation here. Still says unshipped. Strange as my order was placed well before yours. They must have a different concept of time and first come first served.

Not impressed.
