When using the mmc2.0 minerd cpu miner, you *must* set your --thread parameter to a power of 2. (2,4,8,16,32 etc)

I have a dual 6c/12T xeon machine, and it would not run if i set each batch file --thread parameter to 12 to match the logical cores.

Setting it to --thread 16 per batch file worked and didnt appear to inhibit the performance of each node, even though each node was overspecced 4 threads.

Just checked all my cpu's, they all don't support AES-NI. This coin is just only for newer CPU's. Can't afford to buy new cpu's at the moment, so it's useless to mine for me at the moment.

That's not the cause. Older CPUs will only be slower but must still be able to calculate hashes. You have some software problem or faulty hardware.

Try this:

minerd.exe --url http://work.mmcpool.com/ --user *your MMC address* --threads 4

My hardware and software is fine for other cpu mining, ie. PTS, XPM, scrypt jane, etc. This is the first time I ever had an issue cpu mining.

If you see in my older posts, I did have the cmd line done right for the bat file. Might be an issue with the bigger miners finding shares too fast for my cpu's to compete.

I use two regular PC's 2-3 years old... and they mine OK.

I just posted my application for CSO.
My plan is to create a team of supporters, so there's always someone available.

Seems interesting. I'll give it a go. I have an i5 3550k overclocked to 4.2ghz. Will the overclock benefit?

Should benefit quite a bit.  I am not sure there are even diminished returns on more clock speed.

Here are some stats from a few of my CPUs:

Seem to be getting an average 2.0 hash/min. Does that sound right? I set Minerd to 4 threads.

mmm that seems a tad low (just a gut feeling), i am overspeccing my --thread count due to the miner not liking non-multiple-of-2 core counts.

Ensure that there are no other "heavy" processes running in the background, like say a wallet.

I would think that 3570k @ 4.2 could break at least 3 HPM.

My 3570k gets around 2hpm. I think it's running at stock speed, but I can't say for sure at the moment because I'm not at home.

Got nothing else running that appears to be taking up any cycles. If it is low, I'm not sure what else it could be.

Amazon paid Spot instance, cc2.8 Large.

As a cautionary note to anyone who may even think about abusing the free $200 AWS credit using fake/temp CC numbers, don't even bother.

Amazon considers that "deliberate" theft of service and has been sending law enforcement to peoples' doors.

Also, 1.286k CAT coins for sale.
