Not gonna happen if the dollar collapses. Some people would probably buy and there'd be a substantial rise, but bitcoin would quickly be forgotten as it cannot operate without fiat any time soon (or ever, for that matter)

Volume thus far today on Bitstamp: 2617, Bitfinex: 6949, BTC-E: 4797 ?!?!

When did BTC-E become twice as big as Bitstamp?
After they got hacked

All that bid depth go from coinbase to finex, or what?

Looks like it, coinbase knew it couldn't fool anyone with it's fake volume

These charts are relative AFAIK; so if BFX had a 20k bidwall pop up, bitstamp and coinbase would appear as almost totally flat. When coinbase had that 5k bidwall, it did the same thing to BFX/Bitstamp, to a lesser degree. Now that it's gone, BFX appears to have a mountain of bids.

Really?

I always thought that the amount of coins was just measured on an individual chart basis, and corresponds to the figures on the y axis of the chart ?

I don't think it was always this way, but you can see they line up by just opening all 3 and checking the y axis scale.

Huobi wants to break down.

Yeah.. I just can't see this happening. If it does manage to break down significantly, I have no idea where the coins are gonna come from on the USD exchanges.

mmmm i have a feeling things are going to get ugly within 8 hrs

Your feelings seem to be fairly attuned to your active positions Smiley
Is that a bad thing? What's better - someone who openly states their positions and shares their opinion on the market, or the guy who just says "moon tomorrow" / "double digits within a week"?

Such performance, many trading, very profits, wow!
h3speros   $118.84   61.64%
freedomno1  $97.53   4.21%

Obviously both have done great, but I'm not sure why you picked him out specifically. h3speros has somehow made an incredible 62%!!??!?!?

Over 30K shorts. There isn't enough coins for sale to close those shorts out. If they cascade close we could see million dollar coins!

This is just as (un)convincing as:

Over $25.5 million worth of longs. There aren't enough bids to close those longs out. If there is a giant red dildo cascade we could see single digit coins!
We'd be well into the pennies.

EDIT: NOW A 4K BIDWALL ON HUOBI!

Well, the longs will close if the shorts squeeze. Lots and lots of loans here...

Charts are screaming up; people are screaming down. I'm so confused!

Everyone is confuse that is why price still around 220 and I do not think it will going to down so much.
I'm inclined to agree.. on one hand, I think that the price will eventually continue to drop. On the other, failing to retest the low.. or even close to it.. is kinda bullish. (assuming it goes up from here)

New 500BTC bidwall on huobi eaten within 10 minutes, btw.

With the amount of shorts and longs... Are we not at the point where any movement will result in a squeeze? Aka rocket or retarded rocket?
194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: April 18, 2015, 11:09:16 PM
That coinbase has some nice buy support. Not sure I've ever seen that much depth in coinbase's orderbook before.

195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 18, 2015, 06:06:26 PM
Interesting that the bidsum increasing $1.6m on coinbase happened at the same time as 5k new btc asks
196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 17, 2015, 03:11:37 PM
Why are many of you suddenly concerned about a long squeeze?

That's an exaggeration if I've ever heard one before..
199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 16, 2015, 02:37:11 AM
3k of it was shorts closing, and -1k was longs closing.. so net of 2k from, eh, margin shit.
Thats about 50% of the net buying on BFX...  Undecided

Whoa

Nice buys... hopefully not a short squeeze, since its not new longs.
