rebound in progress? or ignition.. we shall see Cheesy

There is no rebounds, just check 49 BTC on sell side for 603, it means people still seeing opportunities on selling side.
Oops, did I do that?

16:27:21
603 : 97.25

Anyone else notice the dozens of 0.501 buys on Bitfinex?  Someone is moving us up in stealth mode.

Nothing significant yet, but interesting.

OKCoin leading another dump, just about to push a new low there. Huobi/Bitstamp barely reacted yet.
1184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 24, 2014, 02:54:02 PM
Am I having even worse problems with my depth graph now or are there only about 30 BTC to be bought until we rebound to 620? This is crazy... and not in the positive way. Why is no one buying?

despite the low depth there are still people dumping 10 - 20 coins at this price, so we hodl here for a while longer..

You must be using Bitcoinity. Its garbage now (OKCoin & Bitstamp are completely f'ed on both; but they disabled OKCoin for now)

There are 622 coins to $620

This recovery is pathetic. Market is totally out of buyers.

come back later man, no one can see shit till the dust settles.

The buyers?! Are they here? It moved up a dollar and some cents. LETS GO!  Lips sealed

This sure looks wierd. Whoever started the dump from cca $620 can't get back in at the moment, as there are far less sell orders to take us back than the amount that's been dumped since then. Someone is going to get burned hard IMO.

Probably had their bids preplanned and placed already awaiting others to panic and sell into them.  Smiley
Or they actually sold. You know, without the anticipation to buy lower?  Wink

Huob's volume yesterday (Jul/22 UTC) was only 7.8 kBTC, the lowest on record since Nov/02.

The second-lowest volume in that interval was May/17 (9.3 kBTC), part of a three days' pause before the rise that took the price from ~450$ to ~650$.

At the same time, the price is extremely stable -- even though it is ~12:30 in China, the chart is as flat as it has ever been in the late night hours.  And today's volume promises to be even lower than yesterday's.

This may be another "calm before the storm" like May 17-19.

Or it may be that Huobi is slowly dying, and its clients are perhaps moving to the new BitVC.  One hint that it may be the case is that the volume has been shrinking gradually for a couple of weeks, whereas the May 17-19 "calm" was preceded by normal volume (~35 kBTC/day)

OKCoin seemed to be growing; but in periods of high volume Huobi still tended to top them. They also still have more depth. Now that Bitcoinity doesnt support OKCoin I dont know though. (That whole site seems to be turning in to ----)
1189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 19, 2014, 04:49:07 AM
3 ~BTC500 walls on Huobi now

First 2 were eaten. (They appeared at ~3840 then moved to ~3870, got eaten, then replaced at ~3840, moved to ~3870, got eaten.. repeat)

So, thats a good chunk of selling pressure gone on Huobi if we assume this is a single entity eating up lots of coins to hold* rather than sell for a 1% profit like most Chinese traders seem to do.

*2% gains likely. lol

EDIT: BOOM!!!!

ps i know this is USD observer, but really, if China goes nuts the US will follow. Not a single trade on stamp in 8 min now though.
1190  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Dell is now the world's largest ecommerce business to accept #bitcoin" on: July 19, 2014, 04:11:12 AM
Just some simple math... Two thousand early adopters spend 50 BTC each on Dell hardware.
Result: 100k extra BTC sold on exchanges, triggering a healthy capitulation.  Cheesy

is this a joke and I'm just being dumb? why would someone spend 30 grand on dell computers?

I dont think he was joking, unfortunately.

I have this eerie feeling we are on the verge of a breakout.

I could be wrong. I am a total uber-bull so perhaps a little too optimistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if things get really interesting soon here.  Grin

Same feeling here.

But I have said this many times now Sad

THIS TIME ITS DIFFERENT. Smiley
$635 within 24 hours?
downward breakout mate. dumpers are too strong.

 Grin

what happens on the 24th chartbuddy?

It's arguably the first day of the next 234 day bubble cycle. Also mtgox is auctioning their bitcoins. There are a few other things happening around then also (Bitcoin conference is 19/20th)

Huh No

The complete lack of asks on Huobi gives me a false sense of hope.. lol -- 642 coins to 3900

EDIT: Omg, 2 mins later.. its only 638. We got this boys. At this rate, it'll be up to 3900 in just 5 hours!!!~~~

1197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 14, 2014, 03:27:17 AM
Honestly, this doesn't look good. Too much resistance in 600s.

No shit.

1198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 14, 2014, 01:03:45 AM
More dumps in China, absolutely zero reaction on stamp yet

Apparently someone on OKCoin took that as bullish as, just minutes after hitting a daily low they push for a 3 hour high.. lol.

(3860->3836->3865)

Why does the ask wall on stamp dance around like that?

Junk bot; this same bot has danced that ask wall to where it is now from like $680.. slowly creeping down.
Why do you see bots everywhere and blame bots of everything?

Huh No human would be doing this as the same wall moves 24hrs a day for the last week+.
Why a single human? Some peope want it to go up, some down and some want to cash out every day. It's market of thousands+ persons involving every day.

It's the same set of coins.. every couple of minutes. 2 weeks ago the ask sum was a flat line that moved up or down as people added to the ask wall, or market orders ate some up. Now it goes up and down a couple hundred every few minutes, by about the same amount. It's a bot.
