1841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT a replacement to the Stock Market/ traditional investments on: November 13, 2020, 07:25:14 AM
i found a simillar reply of yours on this thread -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288668.msg55581412#msg55581412  . i also replied to that . i never tried investing in stocks and on other kinds of investment before but if ever i did and if all doesnt go well in the plan , i will imediately replace them with btc . its up to the person if what he likes and there is no sacred rule that you cant treat btc simillar to other investment assets . btc is more better than them because there was a bonus feature on btc that you cant find on any other investments .
1842  Economy / Economics / Re: Still confused why bitcoin is so bullish? on: November 13, 2020, 06:46:37 AM
I'm not surprised with bitcoin movement this year so far, let me start my point from the pandemic

1. The pandemic period clears the fact that Bitcoin is stronger, while stock market received huge punch on the face bitcoin still stand strong and prove its the best place for stock investors

2. Bitcoin halving took place this year too and it's movement as been identical to that of 2017, I guess every four years this have something for crypto, that's just a guess though

3. Paypal announcement isn't small either, many still have doubts about crypto and some are waiting for big companies like PayPal itself to take a lead first and now it's working, so tell me how the hell we won't see huge difference in crypto market trend?

1) Bitcoin and the stock market have very little to do with each other.  So this really isn't a reason bitcoin is doing well.  In fact, the stock market is doing quite well, and often bitcoin follows how well ( or poorly ) the stock market does...if it goes up, bitcoin goes up, if it goes down, bitcoin goes down..so this shows if anything there is a direct correlation and not indirect.  BITCOIN IS NOT AN INVESTMENT REPLACEMENT FOR THE STOCK MARKET!!!

3) Agreed, PayPal was a massive part of this bull run. It's in fact the largest part.
You aren't getting it, OP is talking about how strong bitcoin was in the pandemic period, stock market suffers a lot more than bitcoin, at that time many witnessed how stronger crypto market is compared to stock market, I suggest reading again
i read both his and op replies and found out that you are right . his reply is a little bit far . he says that btc and stock market have little relation but he said  btc follows the movement of stocks .

that means btc and stock do really have a relation but what i notice is that stocks are down and btc arent  but i can say that btc has a major simillarity to stock because it was also an investment asset .

btc is a nice alternative stock and many people could be doing that during the downfall of the stock market .
1843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects can still deliver on: November 12, 2020, 06:37:23 PM
Polkadot wasn't a rare gem because when people heard it's intro they easily got interested on it . Its creator was also part of the team that create etherium right ? Polkadot was the newest but also the most promising among all  . Chain Link wasn't new at all and uniswap do only got lucky because they of that huge airdrop they make . The risk huge money but luckily recovered that all and made more because many people are then tried them .

last two was aaved and synthetic , this two could be the newest because I haven't see a discussion for them yet .
1844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Turkey as a sponsor in a football match on: November 12, 2020, 06:03:05 PM
Nice catch. I think I have heard of this brand before and I remember I read it bitcointurk not bitcointurkey because I didn't know that the word Turk means turkey. people on that country do already knew that its related to btc but others won't figure it out easily because the logo is different but it still has a btc on its name beside Turk . This wasn't the first time that happen on the football league but there was before that btc is showcased more obviously  . this important events can bring a big impact to btc and to its btc sponsors .
1845  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best app for trading on a mobile? on: November 12, 2020, 01:12:32 PM
I recommend the Binance App and Trading View to analyze charts better,
because in the trading view there are also many indicators, you can even enter a script there,
this will help you to trade on Binance, I am sure you will be very helpful if you use these two applications
reading on the first page allows you to know that the op already used binance app but he was experiencing some difficulties but the other site that you suggest looks useful for a trader that was on the go .

the date was from last year and the apps for trading can be already updated and the bugs were already been fixed . he can try again using the apps that he used before . pc trading is still recomended over mobile trading because you can do more on them and features are not going to be limited .
1846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloud storage isn't safe place for your wallet keys on: November 12, 2020, 12:26:13 PM
i find that idea bad . why store them on a cloud storage when cloud storage arent created for that purpose but thats for the not sensitive files that are huge and cant be fit on your device .

password andd keys are not less that a kilobyte in size to consume your device storage and there are so many way to back up them but in a much safer way than storing them online .

there could be people that are insane to do that but they can be safe if they use trusted could storage and not those random cloud storage found online  and lastly how can hackers search for a cloud storage files online when its supposed to be private  . it also have a password
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling = just for fun or an investment method? on: November 12, 2020, 11:48:10 AM
there are gambling site that offers investment . if you investment on them , thats the time you can call gambling an investment but for a common gambling site without investment feature i dont consider them as an investment

. gambling is for fun because its hard to earn money with them but investment is for money making and its not about luck because you can prepare and insert different strategies with it to make your investing more effective
1848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use bitcoin? on: November 12, 2020, 09:07:06 AM
. I use most of my bitcoin in expenses that are long term, like a new phone to use or save it and wait for the peak to reach and then get some profits.
buying a new phone is not a long term but it was an instant spend . when you say long term expenses , those are electric bills , data , and other non one time spend like purchasing a phone but i like what you did , you use your btc to buy a phone .

you didnt waste your btc because that phone can be useful for communicating and entertainment .  you can also use your btc to pay your monthly or weekly expenses directly without needing to convert it or use your cash in your wallet .
1849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: November 12, 2020, 08:33:56 AM
Volatility belongs to crypto but for gold it's another story, so how can we compare gold with something that can or may lose its value in just an hour? There you have it, crypto is too unstable and gold is way more stable though bitcoin is near identical in performance
volatility is not being ask but its if who is more valueable . we dont need to think hard to answer this  . btc has more value than gold and its still growing . we can compare gold to other characteristics of btc aside from volatility , number one is the price and their supply.  i didnt knew if how much supply gold have but ill say that its unknown but the supply can be lesser now compare to before because miners now are having a dfficult time to mine a gold.  you cant say they are identical in performance because btc has more use than gold , does gold can be use for online shopping and gambling ?
1850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin? on: November 11, 2020, 04:48:24 PM
typing b or in small letter looks informal but Bitcoin should start with a capital B

Sometimes my device always starts typing in capital form and sometimes it isn't or sometimes I accidentally push the caps button making them capitalize but at the end I didn't care at all if what is the proper way to write btc in different situations .

There's also a debate of that before but it was by using an symbol BTC instead of typing btc but I still end up typing btc for easy typing . Thanks for this anyway @op this is informative tho Wink  .
1851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: dollar vs bitcoin on: November 11, 2020, 03:31:37 PM
strong as in increase ? but does btc have a value on its own ? but i guess if dollar is increasing the value of btc will got more stronger . donating btc to federal state can be a silly idea because they are using usd and they can print money  . they wont like that offer but if let say they will accept it i think they will still going to print money and that wont change because that is what thier job . printing money can be bad on the economy but that wont affect the bitcoins value as a whole . thats the best part of using a bitcoin  .
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippines Allows Land-Based Casinos to Accept Bets Online on: November 11, 2020, 02:46:54 PM
I think the Casino is very beneficial for the government, before I've heard a news in other country about making online casino legal to them and now a physical casino to accept online bet. The government really benefits from the casinos they needed to continue the revenue of their casinos maybe to help their community due to pandemic?
Yes of course they are, we are. PAGCOR is paying taxes in out government, and they uses this taxes for building infrastructure, bridges and many more. But even though the total earning in gambling is big, their tax payment is too small, it should go higher, especially that most of the gambler maybe in near Pasay are foreigners, if you could go around MOA, you will see different nationalities, they are earning big but paying tax lower then common Filipino.

foreigneirs are rich and they burned money inside the casino . casino can score big on them but we should also thank to the casino because they can attact outisders or other nationalities to come and stay more on that country if they will love the games and the services offered to them .

tourism can contribute on the tax if not all can be covered by the casinos and its gamblers .

its a good news for the fan of those casinos that are gambling online on other sites  because finally they can now play it on the go and it opens more possibilities in the future .
1853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin dumping right now? on: November 11, 2020, 01:50:44 PM
Is it because the Trump people have given up?

Is it because the Biden people are relaxing after what they think is a win?

I had hoped Bitcoin would actually make it to $20,000 this time!

Cool
Bitcoin's price is not dumping; it is just average for bitcoin's price to drop slightly because if bitcoin does dump its price, we probably are not in the range of $15,000+ price. Also, the US presidential election between Trump and Biden cannot affect the bitcoin market because both of them are not "fan of bitcoin" and will only ignore the existence of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
we are still in a pump right now . i can call it dump if price goes back on 10k dollars and for the question if btc latest movements are related to the election you guys can check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5287080.0  . i didnt read the whole pages of that but   most replies says that theres no connection between them . you can be right that they arent a fan of crypto but they cant just ignore it because crypto is still a currency and currencies are important  . if trump have talks related to bitcoin , biden can .
1854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Turnoff Happen to Bitcoin on: November 11, 2020, 01:03:18 PM
it's a nightmare that will happen if it is not fixed.  in the future there will be many companies or payment applications that will accept bitcoin, but if this problem is not resolved then bitcoin will be blocked, and after that bitcoin will experience a very deep price drop.
block is an offensive word but no it wont happen they dont need to block btc if they dont want to partner or use it but they can easily say no  . delays in transfers are bothering but people keeps on going . the btc team are still working on to  fix the issue because all are going to be happy once the main issue are solved .

Quote
if in the future there is a crypto currency that has more functions than bitcoin and very fast transactions, bitcoin will be replaced by that coin.
litecoin is the second bitcoin and it has the quality that you are looking for but litecoin still remains an altcoin . same to other altcoins that can also function as close to litecoin but for the record btc still holds its title .
1855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TOP 10 LUCKIEST LOTTERY WINNERS on: November 11, 2020, 12:13:32 PM
i like the story of bill morgan . he thinks that he was lucky surviving a heart attack and use that as a basis to test his luck on other things but this time he bet on lotto and he won. the guy will surely feel good for him self because he know how to follow his instincs and betting on a lotto is not that expensive enough with a ticket that is retail under 1 usd thats why he take the risk imediately  . we dont need a sign before betting and we can still win but one time i saw a sign and it was a big butterfly that symbolize money  . i tried gambling on crypto sites that day but i still loose
1856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need more decentralized stablecoins on: November 11, 2020, 08:34:41 AM

Do you think we need more decentralized stablecoins?
i know dai but i didnt knew usdj , its name has a usd on it and its decentralized . thats akward . if there are only two of them that are decentralized stable coins , we definelty need more

Quote
What will happen if centralized stablecoin issuers continue to freeze addresses at will? Will people lose confidence on centralized stablecoins? Or will this attract institutional investors and serious traders?

thats scary if they are freezing addresses well what do we expect from them , that act was not different to other centralized banks and that also happen to paypal users but we are here in the crypto world , they should treat users here differently . its okay if they will freeze those accounts that are guilty for doing crimes but not those accounts that are doing a legal business .if they do that they can attract users to use them because users are gonna feel secured .
1857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long until we can bet with bitcoin in real life casinos? on: November 11, 2020, 07:47:05 AM
With the current volatility of bitcoin, I do not think that we can bet on physical casinos so soon. The players can find exploit with the current volatility of bitcoin like buying low then playing for awhile in high time then exchange the chips .They can digitize the chips exchange though, which mirrors cryptocurrency in a way which is more convenient for players and casinos alike.
its not an exploit  and its not illegal to do it because that is part of the volatility . we are already doing it  in online casinos although there is a limit for withdrawals and there are also fees. they can put the same rules in the physical casino if they will integrate crypto as payments  so that they wont end up a looser .

digitalizing the chips kills the essense of being a physical casino and if they do that , why not build an online gambling  instead . we dont need to complicate things but the purpose is to make things easier
1858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stanley Druckenmiller: another billionaire sees bitcoin as store of value on: November 11, 2020, 07:13:07 AM

another billionaire sees bitcoin as store of value
that another billionaire word makes me happy but the sees bitcoin as store of value make me think twice if im going to be happy or not . what do you guys think of that . if they see it as a store of value they will invest on it and it gives a huge contribution to the crypto market because they are billionaires but they didnt appreciate btc as a form of money  . billionaires are usually investors , they love investing thier wealth more than anything else .

Quote
billionaire investors are not seeing bitcoin as really the best asset to invest as store of value.
why ? he already invest on btc or is it because he have other investments too ? they are new on btc and if they start loving it they can change thier view thru it
1859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has it occurred? Or still in progress on: November 10, 2020, 11:40:10 PM
btc wont go this far if it didnt made any changes and that changes was meant to improve its use  .

by the way , was it a co incidence only that paypal starts to unite with crypto on the month of october or they intend it to schedule to give prior to the birthday of btc . it was nice how a giant payment procesor gives respect to the great btc .

month october is the start where btc will now became a worldwide use with the help of its friend paypal . this said event is one of the biggest development in the history of btc so far and yes it will be in progress .
1860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Selling LTC for XRP? on: November 10, 2020, 11:03:33 PM
it was a perfect time you entered in litecoin because i check the ltc price from that year and found out that ltc were crashing before but you only bought around 1 ltc judging on the value of the ltc you have now . you could have buy more before but i cant blame you , you can be a newbie on that time and your scared to invest for more . 1ltc right now was around 240 xrp , that wasnt really alot to me but it can be to you . xrp growth are less expected than the ltc so dont trade them but you can buy xrp because it was still cheap and less costy than ltc
