i like the KYC idea so youre bound to one account, no multiple accounts
Anyway, a KYC could never be enforced (since people will just start selling accounts in other channels), plus it would require the forum to hire people to check their details (over 400 accounts are created each day). and activity only raises if you do a certain number of characters typing per week How would that help? Why would someone's activity have to relate to how much they type? A long post can be utter crap. EDIT: I thought that I asked pablito1989 a question.

because this forum is filled by spammers/botters that live with bitcointalk incomes. this is the huge problem. but we can't beat them with Merit system.
So what solution do you propose?

Do the consumers here not find this new hurdle for advancement a little humorous? I mean if anything it just made my less than stellar account worth so much more than before. I can't wait for the offers for space in my signature line...If only I didn't post so few merit worthy posts, oh that's right it doesn't matter.

I've given you some merit because you answered questions with links to explanations. I do not mind giving merit to such posts, unless the question has been answered a million times already by other members.

I know that sell-buy of forum's accounts is forbidden, but no one of moderators who participate actively in discussing of merit system did not said that sell-buy of merit will be judge somehow, or I just didn't see this warning, if someone have a link, please, share it I've said that I'll tag anyone, that buys or sells merit, thee posts above: You are not staff of BCT
I will tag them then. Is that better?

It's very interesting to see most of the members praising this so called 'Merit' systems are the users who already got lot of 'Merit's by default. They did NOT have to earn it like all new users will have to now!! I didn't have to do anything to get where I am right now? Man, I wonder what I have been doing the last 5 years then.

This is a centralized, privately owned, forum. If you do not like it here, you are most welcome to go somewhere else. However, the new merit system is not centralized in my opinion since anyone can give everyone merit. Yes, there is one central source of authority (theymos), but someone, somewhere has to start the chain.

this rule seems to strangle us who are still full member down, it only benefits the legendary members, please for the dt admin, give us waivers so we can also develop like you guys
It shouldn't be a problem to get enough merit to rank up if you make good posts, however, your last 3 pages aren't very promising. Quite a few posts in bounty threads and a lot of posts like this: I have a future plan with a deep union coin, I'm sure the price will jump up more than now, therefore I buy it for long-term investment, because I see dev so active, it makes me sure about this project
I'm sure this is something different from most crypto projects, it's really very promising for future benefits, hopefully the development of this project is good for the future. good luck and success for this project
another very promising project dev, I'm interested in investing in your project, maybe I will invest a little initially, but if your project is good and well developed, I will invest more

Lutpin, I honestly think that this would be decent system, since it's both fair and quite hard to abuse. I mean, sure, you could find the most merrited post from a user and terminate it to prevent a user from ranking up, but that would still apply to only one post. It would be a waste of "merit terminations" and easy to track (since there is so little to go around).

I like this idea QA and I'll create a similar thread like this soonish. In the mean time I've given you and TheQuin some merit and I might give some more to other people that post here if you don't mind QA.
