Bitcoin’s Improving Fundamentals Indicate a New Bull Market is in the Making.

"Like gold, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could become a haven for investors who flee from fiat currency devaluations. In fact, in one key aspect, it may be even better than gold: It cannot be confiscated by any government."

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158.msg1322#msg1322

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=9334.msg134763#msg134763

There are several companies that are starting to release a new set of products to make it easier for users to run a Bitcoin node. For example, the Lightning Network’s Nodl and Casa Node are currently making it easy for individuals to run a full node without technical knowledge.

Why are all your posts a constant stream of bullshit corporate propaganda?  Lightning network is a private company recreating the already existing banking system and piggybacking it on bitcoin.  In your delusional bugman quote above, they're attempting to conflate the idea that lightning and bitcoin are the same thing joined at the hip - you cannot have one without the other.  Such a thing is obviously not true, but it's what they want you to believe.

Partially he is right. But this type of news works for the public, in addition to Bitcoin advertising, many millions of dollars are invested in companies with the objective of implementing LN.
LN is a research channel that uses the name Bitcoin.

LN will be used for other things, not to pay for a coffee with Bitcoin.

Increase in BTCitcoin Nodes:

Bitcoin (BTC) Network Nodes Grow Up Over 10,000 After Difficult Times in 2018

In 2019, the number of Bitcoin nodes could start to increase. There are several companies that are starting to release a new set of products to make it easier for users to run a Bitcoin node. For example, the Lightning Network’s Nodl and Casa Node are currently making it easy for individuals to run a full node without technical knowledge.

It may be because of this:

Mimblewimble has privacy features, but it also has the first really impressive, true scaling solution in crypto. Privacy-wise, Monero is probably better overall, but its scaling is abysmal, and neither coin can be treated as an impenetrable black box.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098450.msg49272582#msg49272582

I just replied on that thread. Grin is limited to 10 TPS, which is abysmal, and not much of a "true scaling solution".
It reduces blockchain bloat though.

Following ANN of Grin will see how it develops.

Thx.

I don't want to sound disrespectful to Theymos. This is his house, and we are all guests here. I'm grateful for his efforts in maintaining this community through myriad challenges.

Having said that, I'm not sure what i think about this.

The fact that we already have ASIC's being deployed for this project leaves me extremely dubious. I understand that spinning up new ASIC's for crypto-du-jour is becoming a regular occurrence, now, but am not entirely sure what Grin brings to the table compared to BTC/Lightning.

I'm being much more neutral-bearish-jaded, looking forward, than I was in 2018.

 Fuck 2018.

 No lube.

 HODL.

It is not my intention to disrespect anyone.

Satoshi(2)?

If it's true, it could be good for Bitcoin.

Mimblewimble is a protocol that was put forward by an "anonymous user in a Bitcoin developers chatroom" by the name of Tom Elvis Jedusor (the French name of fictional Harry Potter character, Voldemort). Mimblewimble itself is the name of a spell used to tongue-tie victims in Harry Potter. Jedusor left a link to a whitepaper in which he outlines that by using the Mimblewimble protocol, the scalability, as well as the privacy of the Bitcoin network, could significantly be enhanced.

It can be a winning Altcoin, of course, but it can also be a disaster.

Bitcointalk for many is the Bitcoin temple. I'm surprised that you apply this change in the payment method so quickly, just this.

And they all think the same. Wink

(I will connect a miner that I have this weekend, to remember old times....)

https://www.mycryptopedia.com/mimblewimble-explained/

Wink
