3681  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: Fit to Talk, el proyecto libre para aprender inglés on: December 29, 2018, 07:17:52 PM

List Exchanges Hacked 2011/2018 > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090869.0

How Many Full Nodes Bitcoin Online ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5080565.0

The amount of stolen Bitcoins is very high, it's a lot of money, some advices, do not enter into paranoid mode, just follow common sense:

  • How to save your Bitcoin

- Last Updated official OS + Antivirus
- Not download movies..., videos, games, compromised pages...
- Clear browser cache.
- Everything connected by cable, outside wireless keyboard, wireless mouse and wifi printer.
- Activate 2FA + Backup (Exchange).

  • Wallets

- Software: Bitcoin Core, download in official page, encrypt wallet.dat + backup.
- Hardware: Buy in manufacturer's page, Trezor, Ledger, Keepkey, just install manufacturer firmware updates.
- Paper: Paper Walet generate the offline address.
- Cryptosteel: backup private key or seed.
- All backups outside of the computer.

  • Phishing

- Not accept links, mails, social networks to exchange, update wallets or firmware.
- Attention to web addresses and domain extension.
3685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Hacked Exchanges since 2011 on: December 29, 2018, 12:28:05 PM
- List of Hacked Exchanges, since 2011:

I would like to share this list of hacked exchanges, after viewing the data, consider how and where you store your Bitcoins.
Several types of scams appear in different sources of news, theft or loss of BTC at the individual level.
I prefer to focus on the hacking of exchanges which is what affects us all, but due to the importance of some Bitcoin thefts outside the exchanges, I will include the most important.
If someone wants to publish their personal experience with any of these unpleasant situations, feel free to do so.

Since 2011 have stolen millions of dollars from exchanges, account theft, security breaches, phishing, some recovered others filed for bankruptcy. The solution adopted by governments to improve security is to implement more stringent and regulatory policies.

- This is a list exchanges hacked 2011/2018, I hope I do not have to update this year.
- 2019 has been worse than the previous year.

2020 I have updated some data and renewed the presentation of the incidents of the exchanges, I have more references obtained from several sources, once contrasted with mine they give a wider result of exchanges that have suffered some type of attack, so the presentation is annual to have a more specific vision of each year.

The sources are basically online portals and social networks that warn about hacked exchange, once verified it is included in the corresponding list of the year.

...I think I've made more than a fair effort in correcting these misunderstandings. I hope someone else will pick up the torch before the posters[sic] persistence spreads the misunderstanding further and perhaps ultimately demoralizes the developers to the point where we give up on this completely uncompensated voluntary work improving the protocol.

I am preparing a new thread:
"List exchanges hacked 2011/2018"
What section do you advise me?
Economy, it's okay?

Economics : Trading

I will contribute.  I have numerous instances of loss in that field : and also one or two recoveries.

Probably a lot of WO posters have experience.

Thanks, I'm finishing.

franky vs maxwell is getting q entertaining

...I think I've made more than a fair effort in correcting these misunderstandings. I hope someone else will pick up the torch before the posters[sic] persistence spreads the misunderstanding further and perhaps ultimately demoralizes the developers to the point where we give up on this completely uncompensated voluntary work improving the protocol.

...or worse; resort to retaliatory ad hominem attacks

That thread can end like this. Roll Eyes

List of Major Bitcoin Heists, Thefts, Hacks, Scams, and Losses:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83794.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576337.0

Saludos.

Confused, I thought that this morning I would find some more merit in my account (not because of my publications in WO), in a few hours the thread of How Many Full Nodes Bitcoin Online? I increase visits considerably, but 0 merits.

It's a reflection, having a coffee in the morning. Roll Eyes

You have received much more merits than most people here during the past couple of weeks. You are doing very well, but merits are very scarce and have to be shared among a lot of really great posters (much more than merits available unfortunately). Don't be greedy Wink

P.S.: Most people that have already merited the OP of a good thread, don't do it anymore unless some very exceptional post comes. Really, don't care about the merits, they don't mean that much.

Ok, it's true, I have a good average, it's just impatience for Nº/100, it's not greed, I assure you.

YOu will have your Nº100 before you reach 120 activity for full member. Don't worry anymore Wink

Yes, this is the goal, then I will dedicate more time to learn English ...
Thanks. Wink

I do not think so, they have to defend their banking system with FIAT money for now, but they expect the massive adoption of cryptocurrency, then they will show themselves to the people as great protectors of cryptocurrency.

In these moments of the bear market they are accumulating. Wink
