81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season preparations on: June 26, 2019, 09:36:45 PM
I agree with you on Zilliqa especially with their recenet partnership with Unstoppable domains which is a pretty cool. I would also look into NULS especially with their active development in the space
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Popular Altcoins on: June 24, 2019, 01:45:48 AM
ETH, NULS, BNB, Cosmos
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy Platform Elixxir Ramping up BetaNet on: June 24, 2019, 01:41:20 AM
I know the XRP army is pretty excited about this project. Would be interesting to see how many XRP fans are now running nodes
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grand Theft Crypto: The State of Crypto-Stealing Malware & Other Techniques on: June 24, 2019, 01:33:29 AM
I've seen a lot of the website clones even social media accounts but the others I wasn't too familiar with. Nothing better than a trustless system. Always be skeptical
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum goes to the top! on: June 21, 2019, 06:23:57 PM
I think it's always worth purchasing eth especially because of all the projects building on top of this platform and for eth
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook "CryptoCurrencie" Whitepaper is out --> What impact will it have? on: June 21, 2019, 06:18:05 PM
I think the biggest thing is this allows for FB to become the biggest data collector in the world. That is scary. People don't really grasp the importance of their privacy especially their transaction and purchasing history. I am confident there will be companies like Elixxir who will prove privacy of payments can and should exisit
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Confidence in Cryptocurrency on: June 21, 2019, 06:09:35 PM
You are right regulation is necessary or at least AML compliance. I am a firm believe that cyber security firms will help pave the path. Companies like ciphertrace make me confident in paving that landscape
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine crypto on your smartphone on: June 19, 2019, 09:32:46 PM
Does it absolutely drain your battery and phone over time?

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Facebook’s Libra Coin be a Game Changer in Crypto Ecosystem on: June 19, 2019, 08:26:38 PM
It will absolutely change the ecosystem and the way all cryptocurrencies will be like moving forward. Especially the regulations and compliance. Ciphertrace cyber security brought up how their wallet Calibra will require users to go through an intensive AML and KYC process which just means this will have regulators watching closely with that large of user base
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NULS is a First of a Kind Listing on Masternodes.Online on: June 17, 2019, 10:41:05 PM
This is the first time i am hearing about masternodes.online and Nuls actually. Def going to look more into it
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: June 14, 2019, 07:03:18 PM
I doubt the news. because the hottest issue lately is the binance hack, after that there is no news or info about other frauds especially with a great number. this community should know better know than Reuters news agency if there is a sensitive issue. everyone is very careful in storing their digital assets and the exchange places double the security, even if there a frud the value not big as that. so I really doubt it.

We have to know that not only big exchanges are vulnerable to hacking but private wallets of users too. And that you will not be reading in news.
Crypto users should be more aware of danger and more protect their coins but the community is still not enough aware of that.
Criminals were always interested for every source of money and crypto is very attractive to them so I think that all kinds of frauds and hacking attacks will rise and the damage will grow.

This is very real though. Any sort of vulnerability and these guys will swoop. We definitely need not only better education to users but also having these cyber security firms in place to watch for any illegal actions it can be solved sooner than later.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ciphertrace Offers Easy AML to Bitcoin ATMs on: June 14, 2019, 06:36:15 PM

blockchain analysis companies and AML/KYC are not things to celebrate. if bitcoin atms aren't legally compliant, be happy the atm operators are taking the compliance risks so you can retain a bit more freedom. Wink

I like AML/KYC companies not for what their goals, but because they present a very direct challenge to Bitcoin, they are making people more concerned about privacy when they demonstrate the power of chainanalysis, which it turn makes developers and enthusiasts work harder on privacy solutions. It would be much more scary if these tracking technologies were kept hidden and used by police and security services, people would still think that Bitcoin is private and then easily get caught and unjustly sentenced for some bullshit offenses like selling weed.

That's such a good point. I never really thought about it like that. Technology in general is continuously getting better and better but I feel that cyber security firms like ciphertrace are pro privacy and crypto just more so against the bad actors that affects lots of people
94  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the WORST movie you have ever seen? on: June 12, 2019, 06:04:12 PM
Everytime I see a #2 of some movie I am extremely disappointed and they end up being terrible
95  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: EU Warns Malta of the Dangers of Ignoring Money Laundering on: June 12, 2019, 06:00:14 PM
Interesting topic regarding regulations and different countries. I always wondered why so many businesses were setting up in malta and cayman islands. I think for compliance purposes malta did the right step with ciphertrace and may even be the prime example for other countries accepting crypto imo
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BabelBank Rebrands to BabelFinance Amid Surge in Crypto Speculation on: June 12, 2019, 05:26:56 PM
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/babelbank-rebrands-babelfinance-amid-surge-100000153.html

A record high number of crypto-backed loans have been announced by BabelFinance reaching more than $110 million with $88 million outstanding. I have never personally used a crypto bank before but am really stoked to see this high number. Does this mean bigger steps to mass adoption?
97  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mixing Bitcoin twice in series in case your mixer is a bad actor or mixes poorly on: June 07, 2019, 12:45:37 AM
I would be really skeptical to use any mixers now. Two of the biggest have been shut down recently which I think are major red flags imo
98  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CipherTrace CEO serves as Bitcoin Expert Witness in $1.4M Darkweb Case on: June 07, 2019, 12:29:54 AM
Dave Jevans, CEO of the blockchain security company CipherTrace was qualified by a Canadian court as an expert on Bitcoin. These experts can help testify or support a legal team to help attorneys understand how crypto works. I think this is great to help catch those who are moving mass amounts of money, narcotics or anything else that would put other people in danger.
What is wrong in moving mass amounts of money unless there is an illegal intent, this is nothing exceptional, if there is a technology that the court needs assistance they usually turns to these experts to prove the case and explain to the judge so that he could understand the evidence provided. We had some high profile cases in the past and i am sure there were experts helping them with the case during the prosecution.

I agree. I don't think it's an issue to move mass amounts of money but I do think moving amounts that are extremely suspicious then this type of behavior should be flagged. We need to figure out as a community how we are going to handle these types of situations. Do we just let them happen or do we hire cyber security firms like ciphertrace to assist?
99  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about online dating? on: June 05, 2019, 08:29:53 PM
I still haven't come around to the idea of online dating especially the apps where you just swipe through people's profile pictures in a matter of seconds. I just came out of a long term relationship and just feel like these sorts of apps are not what would fulfill me right now
100  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Holding unregulated crypto asset may attract punishment in India on: June 05, 2019, 08:25:55 PM
Would the country ever consider working with compliance companies like ciphertrace to help with with this? It would be a shame to rule out an entire country that could really benefit from the use of cryptocurrencies worldwide
