101  Other / Off-topic / Re: where you are spending your most of time on: June 04, 2019, 06:35:00 PM
I spend the most time on twitter but I do find a lot of value here as well
102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto exchange Coinroom disappears with customers funds, Website Offline on: June 04, 2019, 06:28:34 PM
This is absolutely insane. How can people trust crypto if these types of things continue to happen? This might be a great use case to have AML compliance to any and every business moving forward. Unfortunately there will always be bad actors who want to ruin the overarching goal of cryptocurrency
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First Blockchain-Based Membership Certificate in China on: June 03, 2019, 07:21:19 AM
Definitely needs to be implemented in a ton of countries. It would be interesting to find out how many people do not have one or are unaccounted for
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cosmos (ATOM) - It makes sense to buy? on: June 03, 2019, 05:47:36 AM
I really like the project and the people behind it. I am not sure about the strong value of the ATOM right now. It seems like  they recently had some vulnerabilities.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about a Bitcoin government ? on: June 03, 2019, 05:26:58 AM
I agree we definitely need a pro-bitcoin or crypto government but this extends out to every country. I don't know if the governments will outright necessarily be involved because they aren't pro-decentralization. What I do think could change regs and make governments more comfrotable are third party cyber secrutiy firms. something like ciphertrace that can help do track and trace
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Stronger AML Enforcement Might Actually Save Crypto on: May 30, 2019, 07:25:33 PM
https://www.forbes.com/sites/yayafanusie/2019/05/29/stronger-aml-enforcement-might-actually-save-crypto/?utm_content=92934236&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&hss_channel=tw-3972254294#73d10bfb7e78

Saw this article today and made me really think about this topic. What are your thoughts?

I feel like the KYC and AML companies such as Ciphertrace and Refinitiv are really helping with regulations and making governments feel better about crypto
107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You Share Crypto-Related Things To Your Kids on: May 28, 2019, 10:42:31 PM
This is such a cool topic, I never really thought about it. I would like to see more programs that are broken up to be easily digested for kids like what exactly is a blockchain and how can they become involved in crypto very simply. It would be cool to have companies to think this simply for a kid to understand
108  Other / Off-topic / Re: ONE WISH IN YOUR LIFE on: May 23, 2019, 08:40:36 PM
I would really like to see single use plastics and Styrofoam to be non-existant now and moving forward in the future
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin now you think had a good future on: May 23, 2019, 08:38:40 PM
I feel like Bytom has a good future because of the number that is already circulating in supply
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Domain Registry Raises $4M from Draper on: May 23, 2019, 07:59:15 PM
I haven't seen or heard of any domain registry of its kind especially one where you can not only have a decentralized website but also a domain that counts as a direct crypto wallet. This will be great for countries that are censoring the internet such as China and Russia.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uncensorable Internet through Blockchain Domains on: May 21, 2019, 10:18:50 PM
Things will always turn for the worse but we also have to think about what 'worse' is. I think uncensored websites would be important in places where government is controlling freedom of speech ie. China or places in the Middle east.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Could 3FA Help Enhance Crypto Security? on: May 21, 2019, 09:26:22 PM
The recent hack of Binance has left many wondering about the security of exchanges. Anti-phishing working group Ciphertrace mentioned that the cause is likely a phishing attack is what triggered the hack. They also mention that 2FA is no longer strong enough and that we should consider 3FA for extra security.

3FA is explained a bit better in this article: https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/could-the-implementation-of-3fa-reduce-hack-attacks-to-crypto-exchanges/
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Asset Management platform on: May 14, 2019, 01:37:23 AM
i'm not to familiar with bytom what exactly does their project do?
114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Books to help you learn about bitcoin. on: May 14, 2019, 01:04:20 AM
I just finished The Business of Blockchain and thought it was a good way to introduce you on a lot of topics that you can then seek out if you find them interesting or want to learn more about
115  Other / Off-topic / If you could have any blockchain domain what would it be? on: May 14, 2019, 12:56:41 AM
I always love how clever and quirky are when naming things especially websites. Blockchains domains are on the rise https://unstoppabledomains.com/ and I want to know what ideas people have (other than your name for obvious reasons)

Do you like this idea of having a simple nameable address instead of a hard to copy wallet address?
116  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Another conspiracy of Google hmm on: May 14, 2019, 12:48:40 AM
I haven't ever heard much of this insiders issue but I completely agree that this type of behavior happens especially if they are either against the ideas or angry at people within the company. We just saw the whole issue and public released of Maker- so it happens. just harder for smaller fish to do against the sharks without getting cut
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Biggest Crypto Exchange Heists in History on: May 14, 2019, 12:28:17 AM
Do you think it has to do with the way customers are storing their funds? I feel like time and time again we are told to keep everything off hot wallets and to diversify funds.

On the opposite end I think exchanges are learning the holes in their system and trying to fix these issues soon so they don't ever happen again. Compliance, security layers and just general education to the public
118  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do We Really Want a More Decentralized Version of Facebook? on: May 10, 2019, 09:10:06 PM
https://www.forbes.com/sites/yoavvilner/2019/05/08/a-distributed-internet-what-is-it-good-for/#130eb4384bae

I found this article a fascinating read. Discussing topics and projects that can help make the internet more private and decentralized. I even like the idea  of owning your own domain on the blockchain which would be controlled directly by the owner instead of being censored.

All hopeful things to see in the near future. Thoughts?

We need more decentralized platforms that would probably reward the users for using their platforms.
For sure, not like Facebook. I think that Facebook is dead and the platforms that people use nowadays are more like Twitter, Instagram etc that you don't have to read a lot of text.

I agree. I think people's attention spans are much smaller so a quick scroll through pictures (Instagram) or a snapshot of a thought (twitter) are what people are craving. I think the messaging aspect is really important to people too- messenger, DMs or something like wechat. I hope we can have a private messaging app someday- I believe that is what elixxir is trying to add as their first dapp
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Domain Names on: May 10, 2019, 08:58:27 PM
I like the idea of having one address to give people and in the back end it separates it according to crypto rather than having a address for each
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Fraud Hits 1.2 Billion on: May 10, 2019, 08:35:54 PM
We should bring these numbers up to the public and care because even in crypto- crime happens. I hope that each quarter these numbers go down and we have people working on better security.
