121  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facebook Going Crypto | Your opinion? on: May 08, 2019, 11:47:07 PM
Negative. I could see the potential of them using it within just the Facebook ecosystem but to consider it a true decentralized crypto would be a joke
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Domains on: May 08, 2019, 11:40:21 PM
I would imagine that the BDNS works in a similar way that the current DNS state works however on the Zilliqua blockchain. I found this article from their blog to go into better detail of the use cases

I think they are a worthwhile investment. They're quite spendy right now for me but I would really like to have my own
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can lost Bitcoins be traced? on: May 07, 2019, 08:44:13 PM
There is definitely a way to trace bitcoins according to ciphertrace cyber security firm however I am not exactly sure how you can trace the wallet to the person
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 'Market competition leads to better products for consumers' -Roger Ver on: May 07, 2019, 08:40:59 PM
Saw this on twitter this morning from Roger Ver and I can't help but agree. Also interesting that he called out the Elixxir project in terms of competition. Does he mean against BTC?

127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Domains on: May 07, 2019, 08:16:57 PM
I do like the fact that multi currency payments can happen with the single address to my understanding. I was just reading their recent medium post about it: https://medium.com/@brad_90448/how-multi-currency-payments-will-unite-the-blockchain-community-52f1df1c31c7
128  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Quadriga CEO death, Is it new scam in crypto on: May 07, 2019, 01:40:25 AM
Ciphertrace claimed that it was indeed a exit scam in their latest report https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/
129  Other / Off-topic / Re: Game of Thrones predictions - game for merit on: May 07, 2019, 01:28:19 AM
I have a feeling that from the prophecy the 'youngest sibling' will kill Cersei so I would imagine that to be Bran. She also loses all three children from the prophecy
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Adoption = Instant mobile transactions on: May 07, 2019, 01:20:08 AM
I want to see a quick payments mobile app be super successful especially one that says they will provide extra privacy like elixxir
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation good or bad? on: May 07, 2019, 12:42:31 AM
regulation is absolutely necessary especially dealing with the large exit scams, ICO busts and if any sort of terrorist attacks were to happen there would be a way to track it before it happens. I found the ciphertrace quarterly report really interesting which outlines everything they found just in Q1

https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/

These are good guys imo and want to make the larger ecosystem safe and fair
132  Other / Off-topic / Re: WE ALL NEED MONEY on: May 03, 2019, 05:45:24 AM
you are right we do need money in today's society there is no real way of living without it. We've only built it up and there's no real way to go backwards without using it. Or is there a way?
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Godfather David Chaum on Blockchain's Potential on: May 03, 2019, 05:43:39 AM
the more I learn about david chaum the more I realize how humble he is in the midst of bringing forth a project that is going to receive a critical eye and hesitation from the community esp bitcoin maximalists
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: May 03, 2019, 05:07:52 AM
1.2 billion dollars just in 2019 first quarter? That seems like too much. I feel they are exaggarating number to get more interest to this story. At least i hope so.

I thought that too but if you think about the possible exit scam Quadriga and other scams found in other countries it definitely adds up. I doubt that they would just pick a random number to use for media purposes. They use that high number for sure in the title to capture everyone's attention but it is alarming
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nike is launching a Cryptocurrency Marketplace! Will this help Crypto Moon? on: May 01, 2019, 05:34:19 PM
it would be smart on Nike's part to do supply chain on the blockchain only because there are so many fraud Nike shoes being made in asia that look the exact same.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crime is getting Worse, what do we do? on: May 01, 2019, 05:32:38 PM
I think having proper crypto companies that work on compliance AML like ciphertrace is a good start esp for exchanges. They aren't trying to stear people away from crypto just trying to be more smart
137  Other / Off-topic / Re: Game of thrones season 8 final full trailer on: May 01, 2019, 05:28:04 PM
Episode 3 was awesome still it could be devided into 2. Fast paced action, i was shocked and thrilled at the same time.

Three episodes left, no doubt there will be a major plot twist that will shock uss more.

I agree. A war among women which is unique in itself
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: May 01, 2019, 05:25:54 PM
Let's expose this bullshit! - "In the first quarter of 2019, theft of digital currencies from exchanges and scams totaled $356 million, while losses from fraud or misappropriated funds amounted to $851 million, the respected U.S.-based CipherTrace said in a quarterly report.

So what Reuters have done, is to add the supposed Bitfinex amount as misappropriated funds, which has not been proven and created a clickbait article with massive amounts of fraud and theft to put Bitcoin in a bad light. <The amount used in the Bitfinex/Tether witch-hunt is $850 Million>  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

This is a US government and media concocted witch-hunt to scare people away from Crypto currencies.  Tongue

Just had a look into the entire report released by ciphertrace. Do you still think that this is to scare people from crypto or just a means to better help compliance? https://ciphertrace.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/ciphertrace-q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report.pdf
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Adoption = Instant mobile transactions on: April 29, 2019, 06:09:31 PM
The massive adoption of cryptocurrency has a big impact on its development. In our country, cryptocurrency is being used as a mode of payment but most people here still choose to use fiat over it. There are more convenient ways through mobile phone apps to transact but they still choose fiat as a national currency.

I think people choose to use fiat over crypto in most instances because of volatility. I can see why people might worry with large amounts of money but if we are paying each other in smaller amounts through a mobile app this might be more widely acceptable to transact with crypto
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: E-cash inventor David Chaum making a comeback on: April 25, 2019, 12:14:25 AM
This project is getting a lot of attraction from the community. they recently just had their betaatest node application and had over 870 applicants from around the world! We know with any project to be successful it needs the community. Even states that in the article posted on thread
