61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Blockchain's Impact on the Evolution of Gaming on: July 16, 2019, 06:21:45 PM
I recently listened to this podcast: https://www.blockchaingamer.biz/features/12222/game-on-blockchain-streamlining-technology-with-mo-dong-of-celer/ about blockchain and gaming and it really got me thinking about how the two will push each other forward. We've seen the progression of NFTs gaining value but how about this idea, Celer's Esport SDK giving developers the opportunity to create a game using blockchain tech.

I would love to know what blockchain games some of you are into and if you've ever considered building your own

62  Bitcoin / Legal / Hackers steal $32 Million in Crypto from Japanese Exchange Bitpoint on: July 12, 2019, 04:25:32 PM
Yet another exchange is hacked and this time stealing 3.5 billion yen equivalent to $32 million USD. This number just adds to Ciphertrace's estimated 1.2 Billion in stolen funds in Q1 alone.

Bitpoint said that it detected “fraudulent outflows of virtual currency stored in BPJ-managed hot wallets”

What are we to do moving forward?

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trump's statement against cryptocurrency on: July 12, 2019, 04:14:52 PM
I honestly think this will cause people to backfire imo. It's going to raise a lot of questions and people are going to honestly fight against him especially younger generations.

I've seen art sold with bitcoin embedded inside. I would really like that
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is Libra the future anyone wants? on: July 10, 2019, 11:43:14 PM
Libra has raised fears about the future of blockchain mainly because it goes against everything the community wants and believes in: decentralization.

Facebook could ultimately create a massive closed-loop revenue model from ads, digital marketplace, to payments. Do consumers want to bet on the status quo of existing monoliths?

66  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Decrypting Crypto on: July 09, 2019, 10:11:05 PM
The transactions cannot be reversed but they can be traced through technology and if there is a KYC requirement through the exchange they are able to locate the wallet
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your View of Facebook Coins? on: July 09, 2019, 09:36:50 PM
they will have the largest user base which is the biggest reasoning behind the success of the FB coin. I think its going to be a KYC coin and will be interesting to see how the government responds to it
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great lecture of edoward Snowden. About bitcoin&governments 2019 on: July 09, 2019, 09:32:28 PM

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized and Private WhatsApp Alternative on: July 08, 2019, 05:50:41 PM
I've read Elixxir's cMix protocol. True privacy and scalability especially for incoming payments and messages
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Open-Source Platform NULS Lets Users Build Own Blockchain in Under 10 Min on: July 08, 2019, 05:33:16 PM
This is going to be super cool for businesses to consider. Building an entire blockchain from scratch from their provided modules will be significant as businesses grapple to catch up with enterprises. Excited to see which businesses choose NULS
72  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will China win Canada on: July 05, 2019, 10:15:36 PM
I really don't think single individuals are enough to ruin relationships between large countries when money is involved. They will usually do what's best for the country. They might have tensions over one industry, but business goes on as usual for non related products.

That is what my thoughts were too. I think we should definitely caution China but never fear that they are going to take over an entire country
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LIBRA - Strategy for world domination on: July 05, 2019, 10:13:03 PM
It's not funny but I joke about this all the time. It is definitely a scary thing to think about but I also do not think we are entirely doomed because we have proactive leaders focusing on privacy such as David Chaum who has seen the evolution of it all since the 80s
74  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CipherTrace and Shyft unveil a fix for draconian FATF anti-terrorism rules on: July 05, 2019, 10:03:33 PM
As far as I know this company has raised so much fund in the beginning of this year, around $15 million. So maybe this is where all the money will be pour to, to help lots of companies around the crypto sphere specially in cases about hacks or stolen funds.

But yes, for sure this might turn off some Bitcoin maximalist as it really really go against the very basic of crypto general, which is decentralisation and (psuedo) anonymity. So let's see how the community will react though, and I do hope that this is really a solution for the growing issues in cryptos.

From what I have read Ciphertrace has been really proactive in the crypto community and helping be the bridge between crypto enthusiasts and the government
75  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facebook servers down! on: July 05, 2019, 09:59:07 PM
glitch in the matrix. I really wonder if more people are trying to target Facebook now ever since their Libra announcement. Not only did they have tech issues but there was a mysterious package that showed up on their campus
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: noteworthy altcoins for investment? on: July 05, 2019, 09:52:43 PM
NULS especially since they are driving developers of all backgrounds to build with their platform
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix is gonna film documentary about crypto on: July 05, 2019, 09:20:27 PM
I heard it was going to be about altcoins entirely because it is a follow up to the documentary about bitcoin. I read that the documentary is going to include David Chaum too which I am a huge fan of because of privacy
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Easiest Blockchain to Deploy on: July 02, 2019, 12:04:39 AM
This is a good blockchain for devs unfamilar with blockchain but want to apply it
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing Celer Network (CELR) Token Sale on Binance Launchpad on: July 01, 2019, 11:33:43 PM
Celer has had some pretty incredible announcements recently. For sure will be watching this project.
80  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. Lawmaker Calls For Facebook To Pause Cryptocurrency Project on: June 26, 2019, 09:50:06 PM
I definitely think it had a rise in price due to the Libra announcement. I think it will ultimately mean that there are going to be far more regulations than we had hoped for if there is this much scrutiny on Libra
