Leverkusen don't seem to have a low chance to advance to the next stage. It is the opposite way. Of course there is a fact that they faced a much weaker opponent in the last round which was Ferencvaros. Royale Union SG are a more powerful team to beat for Leverkusen. I must remind you of another fact that this Belgian team eliminated Union Berlin which is another German team in the last round. Plus this team are fighting for the league title really hard in the Jupiler Pro League.

Leverkusen should just play carefully against them to be able to eliminate them. This tournament is their only way to make it to the Champions League. They need to use this efficiently.

Leverkusen has indeed had a good draw. But if you look at the draw, Leverkusen still has a chance to achieve something. Union from Belgium is certainly not a top team and they can win from that. If we look even further ahead, they will play against the winner of Feyenoord - AS Roma, 2 teams that are better than Leverkusen but not impossible. The final with probably Juventus or Man United is played over 1 game and then you only need 1 good day and your opponent a bad one. Everything is possible in a final.

Juventus still has a long way to go to reach European football. If they hadn't had the penalty of the found, they wouldn't have had such a bad year in the league at all. Then they would be 2nd. And Napoli is just too good this year. They currently fall into the Manchester City Bayern Munchen caterogy, you don't have to be ashamed that you would support that. But the facts are different because of the points deduction. If Juventus could still qualify for the Europa League with 15 points off, that would be an achievement in itself. I think the players are loyal to Juventus and maybe this will motivate them even more next season.

Lukaku has already worn out quite a few teams in his still young football career. I don't think he has succeeded 100% anywhere, he is a very good player but somehow it is often just not for him. He may also have had some bad luck, although as a striker you are only judged on goals. The rest of the contributions in a match are not important. I wonder if there will be another exodus at Juventus. Those players who would like to play European football next season? Chances are they won't make it. And what options does Nagelsmann have? Maybe a transfer to Ajax?

The F1 drivers have a little rest until the next Grand Prix is driven. Admittedly, it's too early to draw any conclusions, but I think the only conclusion we can draw is the fact that Mercedes still hasn't got things right and won't play any part in the battle for the championship. Disappointing, after last season you would expect Mercedes to come up with a faster car, but the gap et red Bull only seems to have widened. Nice for the racing fans to see that Alonso is back and having a good time.

Real Madrid is without a doubt the most successful team internationally of the 8 remaining teams. A lot of attention is paid to the teams Bayern Munich and Manchester City, but what about Napoli? They don't drop stitches at all, both in the CL and in the national competition they chop everything that comes their way and the game is also very nice to watch. I think Napoli can make it to the final, but AC Milan is a cunning and experienced opponent. It would be a shame if Napoli just played 2 lesser matches against AC Milan and then flew out. On the other hand, AC Milan has also lost connection with the European top, so they can also use a little success.

The season has been a big failure so far, but the number 7 is still only 9 points in that regard. That can still be bridged, but Chelsea is now in a phase where they are not allowed to lose any points at all. They must win at least 9 of their last 10 games. Whether that will happen is the question, especially with the next difficult away game against Manchester City in mind. There is a good chance that that will be a major defeat without result. Newcastle have also fallen back quite a bit and might have been wise to bring in reinforcements over the winter. However, they have not done that and now they have to wait until the summer and there is a chance that they will not get European football at all.

Few surprises in the Malta - Italy match, except only a 0-2 score in favor of Italy. Luxembourg - Portugal is 0-4 and Ronaldo seems to be back in his element as he has now managed to score 2 goals. Still nice, and in the previous game he also had a large share. What strikes me is that he hardly got to play during the World Cup in Qatar and now he has a starting place. Anyway, against Luxembourg you can also win with a B team. Portugal is still a team that should not be underestimated and also managed to become European champions in 2016. Liechtenstein suffered a 0-7 defeat, but such countries are usually used to losing with big results.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 26, 2023, 07:07:43 PM
If you look purely at the software, I don't think it's possible for a casino to steal or cheat you. Software is automatic, that is, if you take a casino with a considerable reputation of course. If you have a casino with cheap software then I dare not say that. But that is often not the problem with a casino. It is more about whether a casino will pay out to a player. I think you should be more concerned about that. But purely software technically a casino cannot scam you. And also the jackpot will always be paid, because the games supplier pays this and not the gambling site itself.

49 goals for and only 9 goals for is also quite an impressive goal difference. There are not many teams that have conceded so few goals in the competition. It should be noted that not very many goal points have been made either, 49 goals for is not spectacular. Certainly not in 29 matches, for example, that is only 1.5 goals per match. The difference with Real Madrid is in the number of goals conceded, the battle has been decided this season. It still doesn't work for Elche. 13 points behind the numbers 19 and 18, that says a lot. I think they will be happy when they move down a division next season. I had expected after the winter break that Sevilla would continue the line up, but they are currently just above the relegation zone. 2 points only. And still active in the quarter infal in the EL.

But even without Mbappe, PSG will apparently easily become champions. They are too good for that. Yet things went wrong 2 years ago when Lille won the championship. In that season, PSG took things seriously too late, but Lille continued to win games and that cost PSG dearly. The competition has long ceased to be a challenge, not even fun for other teams who can basically only play for 2nd place at the top. In itself, becoming 2nd is also fine since you are also assured of participation in the CL. Mbappe will still be in a good mood himself, since he performs every week and it is not his fault that PSG goes out every time at the CL. This year he was unlucky to have an injury in the first game. But he also needs more challenge in the competition.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual Betting/ Real bet on: March 25, 2023, 07:35:53 PM
I also don't know to what extent you can successfully bet on matches that are VR or simulated. In any case, I don't think it's something you can have any sort of control over. There is no live stream and you cannot see how the match progresses. In principle you don't have that with real matches with real people, but the difference is that a live stream is available and that you know that it is not just software. There are people who do gamble on virtual games, but I don't see the point of that. I don't even know what those quotes are based on. The similarity in both cases is that as a gambler you have no influence whatsoever and are dependent on the system.

Of course it was a great performance from Sporting to knock out Arsenal, but I think that's where the adventure will end. Juventus is normally a size too big, I think Juventus Arsenal are roughly comparable in terms of level. Juventus' current ranking in the league means nothing, of course, because they have been deducted 15 points from the Italian Football Federation. I still think that Juventus and Manchester United are the strongest teams, but I have also realized that United have often been lucky enough to win games in the closing stages. That can't always go well, there comes a time when the games fall in the wrong direction. But in the end, United can win this tournament if things go well.

No problems today for Scotland against Cyprus. Switzerland is already on a comfortable 0-3 lead at Belarus, so that can no longer go wrong. At Spain's match against Norway, Haaland will still want to show himself for his home country, in which he has not really been very successful. Surely there are a few Norwegian players who should be able to serve Haaland. Spain is normally too good but someone like Haaland can single-handedly decide a game for Norway. And Norway should mainly focus on the other games in the group as they are the favorites there. Being 2nd in this group is also a great result for Norway.

Liverpool can do Arsenal a huge service by winning against Manchester City. Perhaps Klopp's men can recharge again before that game. If Arsenal also manages to win, the book will close for Manchester City. I don't think they really care about that, the goal for this club is to win the CL and they have good chances in that but were not lucky with the draw, but I will not elaborate on that in this thread. Arsenal have impressed so far, but I always have the feeling that they can collapse like that and then, for example, they fail to win 3 games out of 3. And City on the other hand is a team that can win 10 times in a row. I also stopped checking how the bookies think about the titular chances of Arsenal and Man City.

I've also seen the odds of Belgium against Sweden, which might have been worth seeing as a Belgium win would get you as much as 2.00 or slightly higher. And if you compare both teams individually, the Belgian team also has much more quality. The same can be said with the teams of France and the Netherlands. The Netherlands had to miss 5 basic players due to an infection, so that quote from France was perhaps a bit on the high side, and then also in a home game and at full strength. In the previous meetings between Italy and England, very little was scored. And also often 1-1 final score.

A big club like Napoli has only won the national championship twice. That it was during Maradona's time is not surprising. But maybe they are even more dominant now than when they became champions with Maradona. 19 points ahead of number 2, which is unprecedented. AC Milan and Juventus failed to do that even in their prime. The question is whether they can keep the selection together for next season. Since they are already champions, they can work with certain fantasy setups in the league if they want to. That is not inconceivable since they are also active in the CL. There are a number of teams that are still in the race for a CL ticket, the differences are minimal. Apart from Napoli, all clubs are quite evenly matched. I couldn't point out a favourite, Juventus must hope for qualification for the EL, but that has also become quite a job and the end is slowly approaching.

Bayern Munich and Manchetser City are the favorites with the bookmakers, but Napoli is not far behind. The reason for this is also the draw, in which Napoli has drawn a pleasant opponent in AC Milan, we can say. It is striking that there are no less than 3 Italian teams in the quarterfinals. Inter Milan and Benfica are the weaker teams in this match and are also linked. This will be a tie game, and I think it will be the same for Bayern Munich and Manchester City. Only Napoli is a heavy favorite to reach the next round and Real Madrid also has a very good chance to continue. Real Madrid - Manchester City would be a nice semi-final, then Manchester City get a chance for a rematch.

Most players now have a break from the fact that there is international football. Then you have players in the Europa League who are not in the selection of the national team at all, but that depends on each club and country. Thursday 13 April we will start again with the new competitions in this competition. FOR Union St Gilloise it is a great achievement. For example, has this club recently changed its name? I don't know that name at all, but in the previous round they won quite easily from Freiburg and it was quite convincing. And with Leverkusen as opponent, there is also plenty of chance to reach the final. Among the boomakers, Juventus and Man United are the favorites, but those 2 teams will probably play against each other in the semi-finals of this tournament. I see the quarterfinals coming through quite easily.

I have the feeling that Alcaraz, despite his age, is already much further in tennis than the other players of his generation. He just has a lot of talent. That also explains his position and recent tournament victory. It will be very difficult to beat this player in the future. I don't see many other players besides Djokovic who can beat him. Djokovic is of course still the very best at the moment, but things could change soon. And on clay Alcaraz might be better at the moment. The question is where Nadal is at the moment, could he show his top form in this edition of the French open? Then we could see great matches between Alcaraz and Nadal.
