Borussia Dortmund seem on their way to a solid and businesslike win against Hoffenheim. The 1-0 that fell fairly quickly in the 16th minute. In that respect it is somewhat disappointing that the score at half time was still 1-0. Dortmund seem to be taking it easy and want to save some strength for the upcoming European game next week. I do not rule out the possibility that Dortmund will still run out to 3-0, but given the opposition and effort of Dortmund itself, it could also remain 1-0 for a long time and Dortmund plays it business. Too bad they have to miss Haler for so long.

This week we will race again in the Netherlands. Last year, Max Verstappen won the championship here, while Lewis Hamilton was also still in the running for the world championship. Only Leclerc or his own team mate Perze could keep him from winning but I think there is an 80% chance that Verstappen will win this GP again. It must be a wonderful feeling for Verstappen to be able to race in front of his home crowd, knowing that the world championship cap is actually 95% within reach now in this situation.

Barcelona has done very well to bring him to Barcelona. I didn't think he would come, because from a sporting point of view it is a big step backwards from Bayern Munich to Barcelona. But his salary will make up for it. no one on that team has more experience scoring goals than Lewandovsky. He can certainly make the difference for Barcelona as others have indicated. But of course Real Madrid have Benzema at their disposal. In my opinion, he is still on a different level, and is also a bit younger, which is also not unimportant.

Manchester United won. A very small victory, but no less important of course. Already won 3 games in a row. Ten Hag really needed this. Doesn't seem pleasant to me to play football on the final day of the transfer market. I think that Ten Hag has now got enough dynamism in his team. The division of roles is better distributed within the team and we will see the first 2 games as a bad start, incidentally. They have now won against 3 respectable opponents, especially the victory over Liverpool was of course good but away at Leicester is always difficult.

Argentina suddenly seems to have shot up again. What are those odds based on? It doesn't surprise me that Brazil and France are the favourites, but I think England is slightly overrated. okay, they made it to the final of the European championship and almost became european champions. Brazil was of course not one of them and moreover they were allowed to play all matches at home because the European Championship was organized in England. They have great football players but as a team I find it disappointing and they have an inexperienced and mediocre coach. You won't make it with that. I think Argentina, for example, is already better than England.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: August 31, 2022, 07:46:53 PM
It comes as no surprise that PSG is again the favorite. However, I don't think Liverpool's odds are correct. They are in a bad phase and already have the biggest problems in the competition. PSG, on the other hand, is a bit low again at 7.0, they should still be the top favorites with City and Bayern Munich. City is good, but I think Bayern are stronger at the moment and City always have problems in the Champions League. The top favorite to win the title for 5-6 years but to date they have not won the tournament once. And the same goes for PSG of course. I don't see any outsiders for the title this season. Ajax has let too many good players leave.

Things are not looking good for Liverpool again. Today a home game against Newcastle United, but they are 0-1 behind. Newcastle United have of course invested heavily and now have a worthy team on their feet, with the latest signings that will also participate such as Alexander Isak. Liverpool are in bad shape and it looks like they are not going to win this game again. Dramatic season start we can say. Manchester City are leading 4-0 and they have an easy evening today, it turns out. I think the differences between City and Liverpool are very big at the moment. In terms of game, and also in terms of points.

Antony's transfer to United has finally been completed today. 100 million. That is really a lot of money. I don't mean in society specifically, but especially when you consider what the top strikers in the world would cost right now. Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe.. Would Antony belong in that list do you think? Ronaldo and Antony together in the striker, I wonder if Ronaldo is still hungry for that, even though Antony is a winger. Is there actually anything known about Ronaldo? The deadline is getting closer and closer. He seems to be in a split. He wants to leave United, but no one else can pay his salary. United are still one of the richest clubs in the world.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 30, 2022, 09:01:14 PM
Chelsea are not doing well this season. Made a lot of purchases lately, but what is the end result? Played 5 games and only 7 points. Very unworthy of Chelsea. It could be that they now win 10 times in a row, but playing football so close to the transfer deadline is never fun I think. And they don't know yet what will happen to Ziyech. I have the feeling that Chelsea lacks a real goal-gatter up front, like Barcelona has now with Lewandovsky. That young German has too little experience in my view. This could be a very difficult season for Chelsea.

AC Milan already seems to have lost it at the start of the season. This is no longer the AC Milan of last season, which managed to win these kinds of matches. Sassuolo may be a tough team, but certainly not a strong team and AC Milan should have won there. Inter emphasized his form with a 3-1 win, simple win and Inter are on track. They will also soon have Champions League matches in a very tough group with Bayern Munich and Barcelona, so the question is how they will live up to those matches and whether they might give their star players a little more rest in the run-up to these matches.

Whoever still had 1% doubts about the new champion of this season, will now have no more doubts, I think. He was really great today, Max. Started from 12th place and after a quarter of the race he was already in first place. It also helps that they have a super car, we saw the weekend that Red Bull was by far the fastest car, but then you have to wonder why Perez couldn't win this race? After all, he started in 2nd place (but had a terrible start). Then Verstappen is still 7 places behind the start. Is Verstappen so much better or Perez much worse?
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 28, 2022, 07:56:18 PM
Paris St Germain trailing Monaco at home, who would have thought? To be honest, I thought they would easily beat Monaco, especially because it's a home game. But we still have to start the second half so there is nothing wrong in principle. Perhaps PSG will take it easy in the 1st half, and that a few star players have been given a rest. I haven't looked at the setup I must say. Monaco will now try to hold on to 0-1 for as long as possible, but that will not work. I expect a fast 1-1.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 28, 2022, 07:54:10 PM
Fiorentina - Napoli is almost half time and there it is also 0-0. But since it's only the first half, we can still expect some goals. They are both creative teams, who both want to win. Both also have a European campaign for the time being, but I doubt that they will be affected by the number of matches. Fiorentina will play this match with a very good feeling as they have qualified for the Conference League. I think that this match will end in 1-1. For sure we will see some goals.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 28, 2022, 07:51:38 PM
Getafe - Villareal was an extremely boring match. Unfortunately, we see more and more such 0-0 matches lately. Barcelona were much, much better and were already leading 2-0 in the first half. But after the break 4-0 it was clear that it was a simple victory. Could this be the harbinger of Barcelona's strength this season? Thank you that we can't see where Barcelona are until they play against an opponent like Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid. For the time being, that is not yet the case, but Xavi has got the team playing football nicely.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 27, 2022, 08:08:40 PM
Sociedad won a very boring match. But the points are in they will think there, that's all that matters now. Real Betis are the only team with 9 points from 3 matches, and Villareal and Real Madrid are the only ones to add. It strikes me that there are so few teams that have won all matches. Only from Real Madrid we could determine that they would win. Almeria - Sevilla is just 5 minutes away, I expect a match with relatively few goals. Maybe something like 1-1 or even no goals with 0-0
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: August 27, 2022, 07:14:57 PM
All favorites will have no problems in the groups. However, they have to be careful with the group of Spain and Germany, because a slip against the number 3 of the group means an immediate elimination. We have all seen how that went with Germany in 2018, when they did not survive the group stage. I don't know who to rate higher at the moment, Germany or Spain. Argentina has had a team with the best players in the world for years, but time and again they fail to become world champions. The last title dates back to 1986. A long time ago. A lot is also expected from England, but that last World Cup title is still 20 years away.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 27, 2022, 04:31:49 PM
What strikes me most in this competition is that after 2 rounds there are only 2 teams that have won both matches, I don't think you see that often. Juventus - AS Roma will be a match to keep an eye on, if Juventus is not careful they will go for the ax and they can just lose this match. They have a better team, they can also play at home, but last year this was no guarantee of success. However, I think Juventus has a good team, Mourinho, on the other hand, is a master of these kinds of matches with tactics and strategy, he will want to keep the 0-0 for as long as possible.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 27, 2022, 03:35:58 PM
Dortmund has won its match, not entirely convincing but won is won in this phase of the competition, you will think at Dortmund. Soon Bayern Munich will play against Borussia Monchengladbach, I expect few problems for Bayern Munich, although Gladbach is a team that can also achieve good results against strong teams. Bayern is probably already in the game against Barcelona, where they will play against Lwandovsky for the first time instead of with him. Most probaly Bayen will lead at half time and win in full time also. I think half time 1-0 and final score 3-0
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 27, 2022, 03:28:29 PM
Bizarre score today at Manchester City's home game against Crystal Palace. Crystal palace led 0-2 at halftime. Still, it was 2-2 pretty quickly again and there is still plenty of time for City to take the win. Liverpool seem to be responding nicely with the 7-0 score against Bournemouth. Given the fact that it was already 5-0 at halftime, I expected some more goals. I don't think we'll get to 10 anymore, but who knows. Liverpool really needed this after the dramatic start of the season in the first 3 games.

The prices of the tickets will depend on the club concerned. I don't believe that a ticket to Copenhagen will be terribly expensive, but if you want to go to Liverpool - Ajax then you have to dig deep into your pockets to see that. There is actually something wrong with the revenue model. As a top club you should never let your supporters become the victim, right? You can also just build in some more space to negotiate and thereby simply bring the prices of ticket sales down. I once heard the Bayern Munich chairman say something like that. The Bayern - Barcelona tickets may not be too expensive either, as we are still in the group stage.
