281  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 19, 2014, 09:35:47 AM
So i got a new TP-Link WR703N in the mail and tried to figure out how to flash it with the LA firmware..

Its ended up with the unit flashing for around 12 secs, then having the LED off for 4-5 secs and finishing having the blue LED on constantly after.

Anyone have any ideas?
Hey mazedk,

I had the same problem. It turns out after flashing the first image the WR703N looses it's network settings completely and reverts back to DHCP.
To make it worse needed two or three fresh power-cycles before the web UI came up to flash the 2nd stage firmware.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply. I think i have powercycled it 20 times so far, with the same end result :/

What i did exactly was (prolly stupid) to try and flash fromthe chinese stock firmware to the english one of the TL-WR703N (according to this guilde: http://wr703n.blogspot.com/ )

That all worked fine. But then i couldnt install the LA firmware, so thought i needed to go to openwrt or so. Then i tried to revert to the stock firmware - as per the same guide.

Which has ended up with the previously mentioned result..

What you want to do is flash directly to the v1 bin from the Chinese firmware, Jack has done it thousands of times and it works.

Yeah, trying to get around to that, just gotta get through to the webinterface of the router now Smiley

Absolutely nothing happens. It seems like its either not taking DHCP address or giving it out if i put a client in the ethernet port.

I should possibly say that its with the standard tp-link firmware that its having this issue.
Connect the Tp-link directly to a PC, log in to telnet and change the network configuration.

On which ip? - Neither 192.168.0.1 or .254 works when i assign a static ip to my laptop.

Try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100
[/quote]

No luck it seems.

Set my laptop for 192.168.1.64 and neither of the two brings anything to a telnet prompt.

287  Bitcoin / Mining support / Fresh TP-Link WL703N - how to flash with lightningasic firmware on: April 14, 2014, 09:59:10 AM
Hey guys

So, i brinked my previous controller during the upgrade process. Just got my new one in the mail and im trying to flash it.

First, i flashed to english firmware - so i actually understood just a little of what was going on.

Now i'm kinda stuck at the point of having to SSH into the unit, which doesnt seem possible at all.

Anyone who done this before from a stock unit? - do i need to reflash back to the chinese software and flash from there or?
288  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Buy Now!!! Best Price: GRIDSEED 115$(shipped) Worldwide on: April 13, 2014, 02:22:15 PM
So you have to buy at least 10 of them?
10 of blades?
no no.
pricing including shipping for 1

To anywhere in the world? - How about import taxes etc.? - Last i got something by DHL from China I had to pay a 130$ fee for handeling.. that kinda sucked.
289  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: New Prices: Save!! GRIDSEED 115$(shipped) Worldwide on: April 13, 2014, 10:42:12 AM
blade miners coming soon

Got a price on those?
290  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Raspberry Pi for Gridseed BLade on: April 11, 2014, 09:37:18 PM
Will the Hashra Controla work with the gridseed 80 chip blade mixed in with the 5 chiip gridseeds or does it need a special version of the program?
yes, but you need to use the blade version of controla, which has scrypt mode disabled

Dont you mean SHA256 mode disabled?

It looks like the game is on.

http://hashra.com/gridseedblade/

1500 bucks..

Too bad hashra doesnt offer paypal.. Im hoping jack will match the price/shipping. Then i'd buy one Smiley
292  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHRA CONTROLA on Raspberry Pi for Gridseed on: April 10, 2014, 06:15:21 AM
I still don't get why you guys are running your miners on Rpi's, that shit is so unstable, mine would crash with just 10 miners connected.
For $20 shipped you could buy yourself a Tp-link 703N and install Lightningasic firmware, and run 50+ miners on it (or 100+ if you have modded the RAM to 64MB).

Please just keep in mind that it might brick on flash.. (as happend to mine).

It is possible to solder a serial -> usb connection onto the controller, but it requires some soldering skills.

Im running hashra 1.3.3 and its been rock solid since i set it up.
293  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LIGHTNINGASIC SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC miner; LA1THS, stock ready. on: April 09, 2014, 11:52:55 AM
They do look like very nice boards.

I think the heatsinks are a bit oversized for the actual effect though..?

no they are done like that so the airflow to have plenty of room to cool down the chips

That wasnt what i was saying really. Im saying, its bigger than actually needed.

Its not like these units are mad good at overclocking.. im sure if you pushed 250w through it, those kind of heatsinks would be needed, but at 140w, and according to the review i'v read of this unit, its not capable of overclocking a lot (might change if you change some components though) .. so doubt they are needed in the end.

I will pay 5 LTC for anyone who can help me figure out why my 20 seed rig on raspberry pi crashes everytime on startup.  10 seeds works fine, 15 seeds works fine, 20 seeds auto crash.  Payment to the person who solves it!  Running Controla image on the pi.  2x10 port shitty ass USB hubs but I dont see why they would be the issue I have tried many diff hubs and get the same result.  Powered by 2x360w12v30a power supplys.

-Andrew

In my case it helps to connect only one USB-Hub with the PI and plug the further hub in the plugged. Don't know why, but the pi can handle now 20 devices stable without any reboot since 14h  Smiley

Try to daisychain your hubs insted. so hub2 -> hub1 -> pi - with just 1 usb cable.

Could be an issue with conflicting data on the hubs or so.

You guys should really try the new LightningAsic V3c miner software if you haven't already, it's designed to do one thing and one thing only, to get the most out of your Gridseed miners. If you don't have a Tp-link 703N, they are really cheap to get on eBay @ ~$20. Definitely worth the investment.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=554542.0

im very happy with it, over 3 days uptime now

I still have V1, does this new V3 give much better speeds?
Always a bit worried about upgrading anything that works quite fine...

I bricked my controller upgrading. :/

Just ordered a new one off ebay though, for $21 usd.

can purchase the broken one from you for 10 dollars shipped!

Danny

Would prolly cost me more than $10 usd to ship it to you Wink

LIGHTNINGASIC GRIDSEED SCRYPT ONLY BLADE MINER

There are 2 PCBA.
Each PCBA 40 GC3355 chips.
Each PCBA has it’s own power socket and usb port.
one 80-chip blade miner is equivalent to 16 5-chip USB miners
Official Scrypt hashrate is 5.2M (2.6M on each PCBA)
Scrypt only mode: 64-70W on each PCBA. (140W per miner)
PSU/Controller/USB cables are included.
Start to ship out from Apl 11th-12nd.
USD2899 for miners, usd100 for accessories set, USD100 for dhl express.

I really like the blade design, but I think it's to expensive. It is even more expensive than 16x 5 chip miner! It should at least be cheaper than that!

To their favour, it does come with 2x PCB each. So you cant really make that comparison.

However, it seems that these blades arent as good at overclocking/higher clock rates as the 5-cell USB's. Wait some time and they'll drop like the gridseeds did Smiley
