542  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB: 1000 BTC, looking for large sellers (>$10K) only - BTC to Canadian Cash on: September 11, 2013, 12:20:01 PM
Looking only for sellers who can handle large volumes of BTC to cash sales. (Whales only. Smiley)

I have institutional traders wanting to buy bitcoin consistently. Large volumes, >$10K per day. They are expecting to buy at a premium below market bid prices, with the value in quick and large cash payouts. Would prefer to work with sellers who will take Canadian dollars as I am located in Canada and that is the easiest currency.

Payment methods include cash in person in Vancouver, BC. Or travel to your location if seller covers cost. Expresspost cash in mail (professionally packed) or irreversible bank cash deposits are also options.

Serious inquiries only, PM me with details.

US sellers: Investigating options but so far the only options that look doable are either meeting in person (you cover the cost of travel), cash in the mail (limited to less than $10K per mailing) or bank cash deposit. Because of the issue of currency exchange then volume will be slower. However we are still interested in buying from you consistently so if you have a good price below current bid prices then PM me.

Instead of being vague with your offer, I would need you to be specific.

What price are you wiling to pay in relation to MtGox, or Bitstamp or any other exchange?

To say you have big buyers who want a discount just sounds flakey.

I can help you, but I don't want to play games. How much will you pay?

I have bank accounts in Vancouver.

I'm curious now.  How does Western Union work in the B-B framework, given the principle of non-reversible payments that's desired here, and all the fraud associated with WU money transfers?  And more generally, what are the fees and limits associated with using WU to buy or sell BTC?

I am happy you asked.

The Western Union payment option is a payment made directly to Bitcoin-Brokers as compared to a payment into the seller's account with bank deposits. These WU bitcoin will be sourced from an exchange by Bitcoin-Brokers, and will be sold at current MtGox rates.

There will be the normal Bitcoin-Brokers fee of 2%.

The buyers will bare the all the associated costs with sending the payment by Western Union.

The WU payment option comes at a higher cost to the buyer than any of the bank deposit options.

As a result, WU should not come into direct competition with the existing sellers because frankly its not as convenient as the bank method, and it will come at a higher cost by a few points.

Hopefully though it will be an attractive option to people living in other countries where purchasing bitcoin isn't as convenient as it is in the USA or Canada.

Thanks for the more detailed explanation. As a buyer, I'm pretty happy with the bank deposit option, but it's nice to have choices.

One question though: Would the use of WU payments make it possible to purchase bitcoins on the weekend? Not that I'd want Dan or anyone else to have to work weekends Smiley But there have been a couple of times it would have been worth some extra cost to be able to buy on Saturday. Just a thought...

At this point, I think it is just going to be offered Mondays-Fridays. If that changes I will make it known here.

Hi there!
Sorry if this has been asked before but I see in your first post that Mt.Gox is used to determine prices. When I go to your website there's no reference (that I can find) to which exchange prices are based on. Can you confirm you use Gox prices?

It is in fact MtGox which is used.

Thanks.
551  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Bitcoins sellers insurance pool. Suggestions? thoughts ? on: September 04, 2013, 10:34:30 PM
The reason is that no one buys with bank deposit, including myself.

When I first got into bitcoin it was a nightmare to get coins and it still is. The problem as I see it is that people dont know who to trust.

The development of third party institutions to trade came forth as a necessary addition as civilizations grew. Humanity had grown to the point where people no longer knew the reputation of the people they were dealing with. In early human civilization reputation was knowable because you traded regionally, as populations grew the desire trade across boarders with individuals of unknown character grew with it. The answer was institutions. I dont trust you but I trust them, and that is how things have progressed. Third parties have thrived to the point that they control every aspect of wealth and wealth transfer including the minting of money.

The problem is people have their own money issued by the people for the people (bitcoin), but no one knows who to trust we have all become to reliant of these institutions. So the thing that is lacking in our new economy is feedback/reputation. Thankfully we have a technology that has the ability to to keep track of the reputation of every man woman and child on the planet. For the new economy to thrive and work it requires two things, 1) a bridge between the old banking system and the new and 2) a reputation center to manage it.

So the reason that I trade for reversible methods is to help provide that bridge and build that reputation center. Bitcoin will never have wide spread acceptance if people can not quickly and easily get them.

Your very first sentence is incorrect. You stated that nobody buys with bank deposit. Every transaction that I handle is handled in this exact manner without any issue whatsoever. Both the buyer and the seller feel it is the easiest, and in the process, it is non-reversible.

552  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Bitcoins sellers insurance pool. Suggestions? thoughts ? on: September 04, 2013, 08:53:56 PM
Why not just insist on non reversible payment methods and eliminate the need for an insurance pool? That's what I do.

You might want to consider accepting payments which cannot be reversed, and as a result, you will not need to worry about setting something like this up.
553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best way to buy large amounts of bitcoin? on: September 01, 2013, 08:25:22 AM
Hi All,

Do you by any chance know of the best and easiest way to purchase large amounts of bitcoin? ie 10000 + ?

Thank you.

Bitcoin-Brokers has some sellers who have north of 1000 coins each. If you wouldn't mind paying for these at a few different banks, over the course of multiple days, it could be achieved.

Just be sure not to accept Interac transfers. They are completely reversible despite what scammers may tell you.

Here is another horror story of this exact same scenario:

Guys......I have been trying to be polite and let this thing burn out on its own but that doesn't seem to be happening.

Can we keep this thread focused on Bitcoin-Brokers please?

Thanks.

Apologies, was just trying to warn people of risk involved with SEPA. I will step away. Regards.

Thanks.  Wink

Sayulita we are diascussing payments which was directly or indirectly linked to bit brokers as a payment platform

The payments you are discussing have nothing to do with Bitcoin-Brokers. Bitcoin-Brokers does not service the UK, and all you are discussing is UK payments.

Yesterday I requested an EFT to deposit some money since the fee was "free". While i waited i checked the fee again and today i just saw the fee jump to $30-$50. Will I be charged the new fee on my previous deposit or am I still on the old free fee until my deposit clears?

I'll use the $5 bill payment method in future transactions.

Can i cancel the old deposit if we're going with the new fee?

Hi Gryph,

Thank you for your business.

You will be on the old fee until your deposit clears. The new EFT fees apply from today (approx. 12:50 pm ET) onward.

We encourage all CaVirtex customers to use online bill payment in future transactions.

For full details on the fee changes, please visit: https://www.cavirtex.com/news

I sent you a message the other day. When you have a moment, I would love to hear back from you.

Thanks.
