61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Big Successful ICO Coins Price are sinking? on: December 12, 2018, 03:52:47 PM
The answer is simple: the projects are actually NOT promising at all.
Just because they raise a lot of money during an ICO doesn't mean that it will have future success.
In the real world, only 10% of new companies and startups make it past their 2nd year.
Why would crypto be any different?

This year especially, I have yet to see any truly unique companies emerge.
They have all been copies of what's already here, claiming they can do better.
Most of these are too late to the game.
Also, with the bearish and then collapsing market, they have very little chance of succeeding.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is digital cash not digital gold on: December 12, 2018, 03:49:07 PM
Bitcoin has certainly changed over the years.
It was originally intended to be a way for people to make transactions peer to peer without a regulating authority.
A ecosystem where you can get rid of the middleman because the mathmatical algorhtythms 100% ensure trust.
This was satoshi's way to have people bypass governement regulation or people out to make a cut of the profit and allow people to interact person to person.

It wasn't really proven to be useful as currency until the famous pizza purchase.
But even after that, it was regulated to more niche uses like on the darkweb or for techies.
It became a profitable commodity until it crashed a couple of years ago.

Now it is used as a store of value.
Certainly, it will change some more in the future?
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Gas Fee Super High Now! on: December 11, 2018, 09:12:12 PM
One of the many flaws of Eth: Gas wars.

This can happen for a variety of reasons.
first off there is just simple bull runs.  Like last Jan. when the market is hot and strong, the number of transactions increases causing congestion and longer confirmation times.
This equals to higher Gas prices.

Other things that have happened and continue to happen are high demand ICOs.
If an ICO comes along with a lot of hype and a limited buying window, it becomes like Black Friday in America.
so many people are trying to rush in and get the deal, that the congestion and fees spike like crazy.

Then you have the odd ones, like Crypto Kitties.
A game that became crazy popular for only about a month that caused insane traffic on the eth network.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you end up with shit coins? on: December 11, 2018, 09:07:09 PM
Most of the shitcoins I have were due to early mistakes in day trading.
Last year, I tried to expand my skillset by day trading.
When I first started out, it was during a mini pump and it was relatively easy.
But last oct when alts were being bled dry and btc pumped (cause of the upcoming forks) I made a lot of mistakes.

Some actual real shitcoins I have are: Eddie and Kayi.
You won't them on cmc, or anywhere, because they are literally not being traded anymore anywhere.
they are worth $0.

I also have some that are basically dead: Open trading network, Wincoin, and Campus coin.
Yeah, I bet you've never heard of those either lol.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what are people doing? on: December 09, 2018, 04:54:35 PM
Back in Feb. when thigns started to go down, I still did day trading and icos.
Made a lot of mistakes.

Now, in dec. I am going back to a more straight up buy low, sell high traditional strategy.
With btc being so low and back to being volatile it has been working well.
I try not to be greedy and sell once it rises 6% or more.
This has steadily helped me recover my losses.

I have also been setting aside a big amount of money to jump in big when the timing is right.
My current buy in price is $2500 for btc.
If the market seems to be crashing further I will see if it can go lower but if there are no signs of more loss than $2500 it is.

all the other things I have? I am just hodling them lol.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why cryptos are facing such downfall? on: December 09, 2018, 04:50:55 PM
Well, the reasons you mentioned for the downfall are all considered to be very minimal.
You aren't even looking at the major reasons fro the year long crash.

Demand and supply are at the core of the value of speculative markets.
It's actually simple, btc rose so fast that the supply became way higher than teh demand.
It was like an upside down pyramid, when it falls, it falls hard.
People aren't willing to pay 19k for btc, neither 9k, nor 6k, now it is in the $3000s, but most likely will go down further.

There are other important factors too, and that has to do with institutional investors.
since the fomo is over, the only real money that could potentially come in and save the market is from traditional investors.
And they are reluctant to come in because of so much volatility.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin To Drop As Low As $1000 This Year on: December 09, 2018, 04:46:19 PM
Lol, the op was last jan. people were calling it crazy.
Now look where we are, $1000 to $3000 doesn't seem too crazy does it?
I will not say that I predicted a crash, I was caught up in the crazy fomo like everyone else.
Now that all is said and done and I look back at 2018, the signs were everywhere.
If I would have taken a step back and looked at the numbers instead of hype, better predictions could have been made.
(well, $1000 to $3000 is a pretty wide range though lol).

Looking at other factors now, it is also becoming more obvious that 2019 won't see that much progress either.
The two major factors is because of the unsustainable growth crypto had in 2017 and the global economic downfall.
On one hand, current investors are just hodling for dear life.
And the other, new investors won't come in cause their other holdings are bleeding.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Concerning the future of bounty programs on: December 07, 2018, 10:04:07 PM
Adapt to the reality of the market.
Spend less time bounty hunting or quit it all together.
Participate in the crypto market in more profitable and time worthy ways.

if you started the bounty hunter life anytime this year, you are late.
2017 was the golden age, if it took you a whole year later to get in, then you are already in a losing situation.
This is why the people who make the most money are active, innovative investors.
Not just people who follow trends and fomo.
And if you are one of those who actually quit your job to do bounty hunting, I hope you realize your mistake soon and get back to working.
Active investment is the way to go in a collapsing market, not hodling or trying to get free scraps.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO devs should fear bounty hunters!! on: December 07, 2018, 10:00:18 PM
I've got a better idea, how about you dont' work for terrible companies?
Also, how about you learn from your experiences.

You have a high rank in bitciontalk, it's hard for me to believe that you Don't have experience.
Or perhaps you bought your account?
You should have enough experience to be able to tell which projects are worth promoting and are professional.

If you don't take the time to vet an ico before signing up to work with them, then you have only yourself to blame.
For me personally, I have not seen the pattern of suddenly changing terms, not paying, or sudden kyc in reputable and professional projects.
It is more common in spam icos, shit icos, or scammy ones.

Quality over quantity, it is really important in not just bounty hunting, but in investment as well.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next month early January 2019. on: December 07, 2018, 03:32:28 PM
I am done with expecting bull runs.
All 2018 I was like, "Soon! It will pump!" and of course I fully expected an end of the year pump.

Now, I've shifted my entire mentality.
I am not just going to hodl and hope anymore, I have set a huge buy in price at btc = $2500.
I've set aside some finances and am ready to secure a personal loan and am going to jump in with $15k.
I guess that sounds reckless, but in America, with good credit rating, you can get interest rates at 3 to 5%.

On top of that, I 100% believe in blockchain technology.
I also believe in BTC, there is no way 19K was it's all time high.
That's like saying the highest point in Apple's company was in the 90s with the imacs.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: are you afraid of the current market situation. on: December 07, 2018, 03:28:57 PM
Everyone is afraid.  Of course.
Even if you have been in it for a long time, chances are your portfolio is shot.
And if you got in end of 2017 to beginning of 2018, then it is even worse.

What scares me more is that the entire global economy looks like its about to collapse.
With the stock markets of both america and China crashing and not recovering for a full three weeks now, it looks really bad.
If this continues, then we can find ourselves in a situation similar to 2008.

If thats the case, everyone will suffer, not just crypto investors.
Will crypto survive this? eventually yes, but by then so many coins will be dead and gone.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 100 coin BUT only on TWO exchanges?! on: December 06, 2018, 10:25:44 PM
This is actually normal in the crypto world.
Because of the cost of listing on an exchange, most coins end up on one or two and thats it.
Even if they get listed on more, all fo the trading volume ends up on just one or two anyways.

Also, the days of getting listed on many exchanges or good exchanges being a big thing are over.
In the past, if a coin got on a good exchange, you could expect its value to rise dramatically.
This just isn't the case anymore so you shouldn't use it as a measure of potential.

As far as MOAC goes, I've heard some good things, also some bad.
Like every single DAO project out there it is hard to say because DAO itself is a totally brand new area and speculative.
I would say compare MOAC to other DAO projects like Daostack, wings, or district0x and decide which one is best.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum just crashed 10% in 3 hours on: December 06, 2018, 10:20:42 PM
We can expect a lot of price crashes like this in the weeks and months ahead.

The most simple reason is because btc crashes, which automatically affects eth and the rest of the market

Another reason is that ICOs are increasingly becoming desperate and are starting to cash out to stay afloat.
Even the stronger ICOs that a year old are struggling now, so imagine ones that started this year.
So many have seen the value of their coin drop 80 to 90%.
As vesting and lockout periods start to end,  you can expect them to start converting their eth to fiat, and also their own token to fiat.

In addition to all of this, the ICO market is dead, so demand for eth is low.
This will make the problem even worse as the value will naturally fall.
At this point, only buy back into eth if you truly, truly believe in it.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dubai digital currency on: December 06, 2018, 02:51:55 PM
There are a number of countries trying to become the "Crypto capital of the world"
Korea, Switzerland, Russia, and Monaco are other ones that are actively making laws that encourage crypto development and investment.
Naturally, I would assume those countries would build their own currency.

I wonder how these "country currencies" will do though.
Standard economics says that it will just end up being hyper inflation with the currency eventually being worth nothing.
AFter all, you can't just make money out of thin air.
If they were backed by something, like they were pegged to the countries fiat, or something, then it woudl be more reliable.
Another thing to note, is that they would need the infrastructure to be able to use the crypto on a daily basis.
I wonder if they will develop it themselves or adopt an already existing platform?
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Large movements of bitcoins on: December 06, 2018, 02:47:30 PM
It's always worrisome when a old schooler starts moving large amounts of btc around.

I haven't checked the blockchain explorer, but if what you say is true, we can guess that it was an early adopter of btc.
If they didn't cash out last Jan during the ATH, then we can assume two things.

Either the person was inactive, then decided to move coins around to protect himself.
Or the person is purposefully setting up to make some big move on the market now that the market has crashed even further.
My hope is that it is just someone protecting himself, and it seems the case since it was distributed accross 76 different wallets.

It would be more scary if the person was going to use the btc to manipulate the market.
We often think that someone putting in big moves can inject a pump into the market, but most times it is a pump that mostly benefits the person the most.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Supporting new projects can lead to a better future. on: December 05, 2018, 10:27:38 PM
Obviously we all want money.
But becoming obsessed with it will make you make many mistakes in trading.
However, if you only invest on projects that are "good for mankind" and you belive in, thats not good either.

The reality is, a balance of both is best.
I believe in decentralized payments, but I also believe those payments should be as easy to use as visa or mastercard.
That's why I support projects like Nano.
But not only that, I also am making a strategic choice: IOTA is too over valued, and byteball is falling into oblivion.

A balanced approach will always be the best, and it takes a lot of discipline and control to achieve it.
That only comes with time and practice.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top-10 situation on: December 05, 2018, 10:23:52 PM
Of course, it is hard to predict for the entire 2019 year.
However, I can say that we should expect huge changes in the top 10.

with the prolonged bear market and now crashing market, it is going to be much much longer for the market to recover.
In these conditions, coins without any use or utility will suffer the most.
This has already been mad clear with eth.
Without it's main use (investing in ICOs), it is hard to maintain any value in ETH.
Also, if this continues for a prolonged time, people can lose faith in it all together.

This sets up a situation where one of it's competitors can easily take over.
So we will see eth fall and companies like neo or xlm take its place.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: to many poor people? on: December 05, 2018, 03:32:34 PM
You are an idiot, my friend.
In crypto everyone gets their chance, that's what's really the appeal of it.
It's a once in a life time chance to revolutionize the financial system and take everyone aboard, regardless of origin and wealth.

Lol, look at all of the replies calling the OP an idiot.
This was back in Feb when the crash just barely started.
I guess people were thinking, "This is just a correction! BTC to 30K baby!"
Now here we are in december with btc in the $3000s haha.

The OP was right, inexperienced, greedy, poor people with dreams of lambos ruined the market.
We had so many idiots thinking crypto is a wonderland where everyone has a chance.
Each person putting in only $1000 and thinking that 1k would turn into a million dollars.
It pushed the market to crazy unsustainable heights and the result is the market got destroyed.

What a great, yet tragic lesson.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible that ETH will recover? on: December 05, 2018, 03:27:25 PM
The situation definitely does not look good.
I would say that in the short term, we can expect eth to fall all the way down to $70 to $80.
This isn't just exclusive to eth, btc will also probably go as low as $2500.

The bearish market and also collapse has really damaged the eth ecosystem.
It's value and utility have become clear: people need it to invest in ICOs.
If the ICO market is dead, then there is no demand for ETH.
Yes, it still has a lot of trading pairs, but at this point it is more cost effective to trade with btc.

The only way for eth to turn around is if the ICO market stablizes, and has some sustainable growth.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The first risk-free ICO with money back guarantee on: December 01, 2018, 04:18:56 PM
Lol, the first couple of posts 100% sound like a bunch of paid shills.

Just the title itself, "Risk free ICO" is suspicious.
Anybody can throw around the word "Guarantee".
In reality, it doesn't mean anything.

Need an example?
How many bounty programs have "guaranteed" a certain amount of tokens to be delivered in a certain amount of time?
How many have failed to do that?

Guarantees by no name, non established startups mean nothing because it is backed up by nothing.
Even if "famous" people promote it, that is just shameless advertising.
Just look athe the reality of the market instead of being duped, the ICO market has collapsed.
