Cryptonote is not an algorithm, it is the name of the group that claims to have developed the technology (can't be verified but I have no reason to doubt it). CryptoNight is the name of hash algorithm used for proof-of-work in the cryptonote-derived coins (except Boolberry, which is going in another directly). QuazarCoin is only POW coin and 50% QCN will be emitted in 6 years. Did you mean this? |

how can you tell when a block is found? will it state one has been found? I can clearly tell im mining but beyond that cant tell much. how do we see what difficulty is also?

What do you mean by 'applies'? QuazarCoin software (like all coins which are based on the CryptoNote) doesn't relate to Bitcoin software.
The Bitcoin-Qt's blockchain and wallet files are compatible between different operating systems (Linux and Windows). Whereas in CryptoNote they aren't. A little bit inconvenient...  It's true. All data which are saved to PC (blockchain, for example) isn't portable between different OS.
