Anyone can make any prediction about bitcoin,either up or down. The same applies to the stock market. Investors buy stocks because they believe company profits will increase and therefore share price. Investors buy bitcoin in believe they will increase. More investors will lead to increase while less investors will cause decrease.

As most bitcoin,and altcoin,holdings originate from USD deposits holders are interested in how their holdings compare to their original cost ie how much it is now worth in USD.

The price of bitcoin does not have an effect on the stability of an exchange. It is turnover,ie the number of trades, that is important as that is where exchanges make their profit.

Anyone tried withdraw from kucoin? It is a new exchange and thinking of using it.

Investbox returns pay out until they run out of the coin involved then the price of the coin plummets as no one wants it.

This is the problem with new exchange sites. Building and achieving trust.

Before I buy any coin on any exchange I check there are both buy and sell orders and difference between buy and sell prices. You could check if there are any trades on other exchanges and make transfer.

I do not have a favourite but am looking to hold what I believe to be a safe selection ie ethereum,litecoin,neo and bitcoin. Will increase the spread in future.

There are two issues here. The price of altcoins against bitcoin and the price of all coins against dollars. The prices of all can change throughout the day but not all the same eg ethereum may gain against bitcoin but litecoin may fall., If there is bad news about cryptocurrencies eg a country banning an exchange then the whole crypto market will fall against the dollar.

Arbitrage will not be profitable on small amounts as exchanger fees will eat into any profit. Timescale is also important as price of coins can change on all exchanges before transaction is confirmed,especially with bitcoin and ethereum at the moment.

It depends on the reason you want an exchange.The more famous and longer established exchanges like yobit,binance and bitfinex give a greater choice of coins while new ones like kucoin have a smaller range. If you want to exchange between the main coins then almost any safe exchange will be useful.
