I've started the process of crafting dies for the 2018 rounds. There will be no more 2017 rounds minted. Get them while you still can.
Will the design change? I think a little more of a plainer design would look even better. I like the 2017 rounds, but they are a little busy imo. |

Shipping high value coins around does get uneasy but if you use the safest of carriers and shipment methods it's pretty safe and secure...has anyone on these forums really lost a high value coin yet? I haven't heard of one.

OK I get it. ANACS not really an option. I would't mind travelling but I have a border to cross and traveling with an excess of 10K$ in monetary instruments is a problem as it requires a declaration (ever heard of CBP 6059-B/FINTRAC ?). And not to declare is not an option as I do have to cross this border very often. I guess I have to get at ease with the shipping risk...
Honestly shipping them is pretty safe, but I understand the fear. If you decide to take the plunge and have it graded and need help with the form feel free to msg me and I will help you. |

Thanks Blazed, but I think it I shoud have it graded by ANACS or equiv as I have little knowledge of what constitutes a poor/mint condition. I do realize though that there is a premium attached to a loaded physical 5 BTC as your offer kindly demonstrates. This is also a challenge for me as I am located in Canada and don't feel good at all sending this through a little FedEx envelope to an organisation I dont know.
Do you guys know of any alternative grading services or DIY grading kits ?
ANACS is your only option for grading. Any Casascius coin will carry a premium due to who made them. Your coin has some smudges on the BTC and that will hurt the grade some, but overall it is not a bad looking coin. My guess is you would get MS64/65 on it. Not only that, but I can't imagine sending a coin worth 5 btc right now in the mail, especially to ANACS who will only guarantee a $100 return insurance amount.  (I'd rather peel it or sell it in person, or to someone reputable such as Blazed here, especially if I lived in CA). Just my opinion, ofc, cheers!  I escrowed a deal 2 weeks back where 2 x Cas 10 coins were mailed uninsured. If you pick a reliable mailing service the risks are extremely low. |

For the hardcovers, there were 20 Autograph Editions, of which they received a COA numbered 31-50. There were up to 35 Makers Editions reserved for the coin makers who participated. Of that minerjones seems to know how many were claimed to purchase. Then there are regular non-limited hardcovers. Any hardcover had the option to get premium paper.
Around 15 makers were given free label sets by me, which would have COAs from roughly numbers 15-30.
The COAs from me don’t necessarily match the numbers of any books, since the label sets could have been purchased separately and added to any hardcover or softcover.
I’ve been told from Elianite that the last 4 Autograph Editions have sold or traded for $5000 each.
With 19 Makers Editions claimed, they are currently about as rare as the Auto Editions, unless the leftover Makers. Ed. stock gets released somehow. But the Makers Editions don’t necessarily come with a label set unless they were offered to the maker, since not all makers were offered a label set.
All 50 sets of labels were complete with all signatures and holos with the exception of Ravenbit, Genesis and bhcoins, listed on the COA, if I recall. I had a limited amount of those.
So a makers edition with a label set is somewhat rare? |

How can one book be so confusing? How many total editions were created and is this version rare or less desirable than a regular version?
