I heard the BTCC "Poker Chips", if that's what they are, were so far given away at conferences.

So hopefully they'll be available for purchase soon.

I have purchased a lot of their coins...I want a freebie chip and shirt someday  Tongue

I want some of those plastic chips/coins! So far I am very happy with BTCC and their offerings. I am impressed with how fast they have started offering new things...plus funding with fresh coins is a huge bonus.

...

ZEC will not even have full rewards for 30+ days. I think trying to price it currently is impossible. Give it a few weeks and I bet it has a pretty large market cap (not that I really judge coins by that).

In a few months maybe. My initial thought was 6 - 9 months. What I did not take into account was the horrid combination of a very sophisticated marketing campaign with the ultra slow initial emission. What this has done is hurt Zcash; however it has not changed the reality that ZCash is not a real competitor to Monero until it can muster a valid market capitalization based upon a realistic valuation of the individual tokens. In the meantime a lot can happen with Monero.

All that matters is the hype and marketing. No one really uses alt coins for anything other than speculation. It will be interesting to watch either way!
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 29, 2016, 10:13:04 PM
I can not imagine that anyone is surprised with the nosedive in prices. Zcash is obviously going to dominate the anon coins even though it has a lot of issues. This goes to show you that marketing > technology for alt coins. I will be waiting for what I feel is the bottom and probably buying up some XMR for long term. This coin has a good dev team and solid technology behind it...just lacks the obvious GUI and marketing.

My guess is .005 is the bottom.

Maybe in a few months. The reality today is its current market cap is 1.37 million USD and falling and it is ranked number 67 in market cap. Now how many "anon" coins have a higher marketcap?

Edit: All "marketing" has done for ZCash is create a mega bear market. Those who listened to the marketers, never a good idea in any case, were fed to some very hungry bears.

Let me know if you need any custom parts machined/created for your setup. I have access to a machine shop that is fairly large.

Cool, I greatly appreciate it! This is something I planned on doing for myself later, but I figure I'll ask. Have you machined graphite before? I need a better CNC Mill before I'm able to make my own graphite molds. If you are able to make a few things, that might actually move my progress along. If not, its not a big deal, I've planned my releases around my own mechanical capabilities, with things requiring additional setup to come in later batches.

Yes they can do it, but it depends on the parts complexity. Some pieces they send to be water jetted. Send me a drawing and we can go from there. Graphite sucks to work with...big time. I am sure we could just trade some custom work for some custom work  Wink

Hello,

We will be doing the lottery roll soon !

William

Oh good, maybe I can win back some of my losses  Grin

Edit: How does this lottery roll work exactly?
1031  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] unopened tube of 20 1 BTC silver Casascius coins on: October 27, 2016, 06:33:06 PM
I will try to arrange for photos. Please do not post offers or buy prices here; PM them to me.

I retract my bid then and will not be counter bidding anyone else. I think secret/private auctions are crap...
1032  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] unopened tube of 20 1 BTC silver Casascius coins on: October 27, 2016, 02:53:06 PM
I will offer 30BTC for it. The way the tubes shipped in the plastic cases means it is not really sealed. I assume this is the standard clamshell holder with the 1Ag* written on the end of it?

I will offer 1.75BTC to get things started. I honestly could not give you an estimate on how to price it right now. When coins are graded it becomes a little easier, but the market is sorta slow these days.

Edit: Is that a fingerprint on the left side of the face? I need better pictures for my bid to stand.
1035  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin 100 has run its course. This is the rebate thread. on: October 26, 2016, 02:07:38 AM
Be careful with really old members showing up to collect that have been inactive for a long time. The forum database has been leaked and many old accounts have been showing up recently... I would hate for some scammer to get a donation refund from you and this good project.
1036  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Pre ANN] Vulcanalia Mint Physical BTC and more on: October 25, 2016, 04:06:29 PM
So today's update. I'm just waiting on a replacement PID for my firing kiln, the vacuum pump for my casting table, and a couple of crucibles, and I'll be all set. Everything should arrive this week, so by this weekend, I'm hoping to have something made, even if its just some tests to mess about with. I've got a temporary hand stamp, as it will take a while to have my custom one made. I just got something sort of generic to mark what I make until I have the Vulcanalia branded one to my satisfaction.

Looking toward the future, I'm looking at laser engraving or diamond drag systems, custom holograms if I need them (bleh), and I'm starting research into fancy printers that can make little COAs. Plate forming and bending machines, 50 ton hydraulic presses, and all sorts of other goodies will probably be obtained if I can find some local shop space.

Let me know if you need any custom parts machined/created for your setup. I have access to a machine shop that is fairly large.

This is ridiculous, to say the least. If CI wants to release 10 coins then what is the issue? Since when do buyers dictate what the sellers do? I agree it was a pretty silly move and pissed off his future buyers...

edit: I just feel like people are overreacting here
1038  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Pre ANN] Vulcanalia Mint Physical BTC and more on: October 23, 2016, 03:40:53 AM
I would be interested in some hand poured coins like this:

There will be plenty of hand poured pieces to go around! Thats actually the simplest to do, so those will be incredibly affordable.

Excellent... I would be interested in some silver goodies then. I prefer larger sized pours so 5oz+

Monero is a decent coin and all, but I really doubt any coin will hit .1BTC in value. If any coin will come close maybe zcash since it is so hyped...(yes I know it is a joke how the distribution will go and pre-mined etc..etc...).
