So batch 1 orders are unaffected by this?

That would be incredibly lame.  It would be a double slight; killing the market for boards since no one after the first batch would need them while also explicitly giving preferential treatment to later customers.

I totally agree. They already made damage to first batch customers by offering those 3 days of sales where you can purchase a sierra with x3 hashing power at the same price as a babyjet with 1 month difference (which will be shorter if they delay the first bach shipment). If they now exclude this first customers from giving them the modular boards if the MPP has to be executed that will make no sense.

Where are you located?

I am located in Spain.

That means around 21% in vat of the value that HF declares and more fees for handeling the customs. Just thinking about the price makes my wallet cry   Undecided

Ouch, gotcha.

Have you considered other hosting options in US? I think there was a Group Buy organizer offering up hosting services.

Yes of course. I have already got 2-3 options on the US. One was about the 2,5% and the other around 75$ fixed rate per month as the babyjet is supposed to be so power efficient. But of course, if HF offers a hosting solution next to their fabrication place I will go with them and turn those already paid 600$ into hosting contract payment.

Lets hope HF comes up with a nice hosting service ready to work in time with their first babyjet deployment

From Ciara:

"Regarding packaging we have a vast experience with shipping complex solutions globally. We have multiple ways in which to determine how best to protect your products. When customers purchase multiple solutions the preferred method is to palletize the shipment for added durability furring shipment. We also utilize multiple sources for our box and foam solutions. Rest assure that we will work directly with your hardware and team to determine how best to ensure your product ships and arrives in top condition. We will begin designing your shipping solution once the first prototype arrives."

In sum, HF will use a custom designed shipping solution, designed by the same people that design packaging solutions to ship to Akami, the worlds biggest banks, and top high frequency hedge funds, on a daily basis.

That sounds really nice. Anything special about international shipping ?

I have already paid like 600$ for the babyjet and the upgrade kit shipment. As I couldnt reach a nice solution with HF about international shipping I just think that having my unit hosted with HF will be the best solution.

Well thanks for clarifiying the motherboard/module confussion Cheesy

Now we just need pics of the pcbs, cases, water cooling parts or other component you have around to maintain the hype until the chips come
1090  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 09, 2013, 08:45:14 PM
KNC didn't win anything.  remember they started their company months earlier than HF and are just delivering product now which is a bit late.

HF may also be a week late but what do you expect?  if they can deliver by 1st week Nov, given the superior tech and MPP, I am more than happy to be a HF customer and prefer their odds of dominance in the long run.

something that hasn't been stressed enough is that the HF "module" that contains a pre-mounted chip is the only proprietary piece in a BJ or Sierra.  the module is it's own motherboard.  there is no separate pcb needed.  everything else, case, cooler, psu, RaspPi, fans, is OEM.

unlike KNC which has a proprietary casing and controller.

you buy a bunch of modules and you could start your own distribution business.

So then whats the point on writing this on the babyjet description ?

The Baby Jet motherboard has room for an additional GN chip module.**

I suposse that by that time HF already knows that they are going to work with independet modules and not a limited motherboard. I really think that they just did this to get the customers into the "upgrade kit".

Contact is a new case, or the contact with the chips?
A bit too early for the chips, i guess..

I posted in the other thread but I will post here it again anyway.

Contact is about chips layering and they will also post something about that they are still on promised delivery times.

Lets wait for the blog update for more details  Wink

Update:

Good News!  HashFast will be announcing Contact imminently.

Please check the HashFast Blog for more information.

What's contact?  contest? contract?

I got the same doubt and I have been told that is all about chips layering and that they are keeping in schedule

So they plan to receive the chips by 17, but they also have to assenbly each unit, test them and send to the customer. How many units HF estimate to be able to assenbly and ship each day ?

Thanks for the updates  Wink
1095  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: September 24, 2013, 10:36:37 PM
Before purchasing the "upgrade" I would like to know a few things, because after all the "sales" and not really much information provided, it seems that all HF cares by the moment is getting more and more money. So:

- Really aproximate shiping date of the babyjet batch 1 ? Batch 2?
We dont really need an exact day and hour, but as it seems that you have already ordered the pcb manufacturing, everything goes as planed with the chips and I suposse that you have an estimate number of babyjets to assenbly per day, just please give us a real date of both batches so we can estimate if it is worthy to purchase this extra or not.
- This special and extra chip will be given by the same time as the 2 batch of babyjet and sierras shipped, right ?
So if we make the purchase of this extra, which will be the queue we are added on ? We are going to be added after or before the people that already purchased that units ?

- With the power supply included in this extra unit, will be enough to make OC to both chips ?

- Notices of the  hosting plan ? Hosting fees ?

And I thin that with that is enough for the moment  Cheesy
1096  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: September 24, 2013, 06:19:28 AM
By purchasing this upgrade we refuse completely to the MPP program ?
https://hashfast.com/shop/baby-jet-upgrade-kit/
This unit has no bearing on the original MPP offered and/or purchased with your original order. It is a standalone option. For any further questions, please feel free to email us at sales@hashfast.com

Thanks,
Erin

So even we purchase this unit, we will still have the MPP to protect our first 400GH unit right ?

I mean that this extra chip wont be taken in account if in 3 months time we have to apply the MPP yes ? The MPP just covers and takes cares of the initial 400GH that we purchased if I am right

1098  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: September 23, 2013, 09:14:38 AM
I hope their promotion is to turn those first batch babyjet units into sierras units somehow, rewarding this customers for the issue of this 3 days special sales
1099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: September 22, 2013, 01:15:04 PM
For those that haven't heard: There's a Flash Sale on HashFast Batch 2 units, estimated delivery Dec. 1 for Express delivery.

That sounds unfair for those who ordered on the 9th of October at the full price for a Sierra unit in the second batch...

Do we get some kind of compensation?

And I also think that is pretty unfair for those with a babyjet batch 1 customers. By the same price we purchased a babyjet you can buy now a sierra with 3 times more hashing power and just 1 month delay of shipping, which I think that in the end will be less time. I really think that HF should take care more about this first batch customers and the people who already bought a sierra without a discount that got enough reasons to be angry, than for selling more and more units.

I still don't know what they are going to do when a customer gets his unit shipped 1 week later than previous customers in the order queue for example and has the right to apply the MPP because he hasn't reach the ROI by a few BTC and the previous customers don't get the chips. Or if you have and international delivery and it takes 15-20 days to arrive what happens then ? Do they count as mining days ?
