UPDATED SHIPPING NEWS

We know you’re eager to get production updates, so we wanted to fill you in on some important news.

We now have a more accurate picture of our anticipated shipping timeline.  The majority of the project is on track and, in many cases, ahead of schedule. However, one important component, the substrates, is going to take a few weeks longer than we wanted.

Our vendor has told us that the substrates — one of the final components in completing the chip module  — are going to take a more time than expected.  The good news is that the silicon, arguably the more complicated part of the design, is right on track.  Once the substrates arrive, we can place the silicon and finish production. Our updated estimate is that the rigs will begin shipping in mid-November.

Since the start, HashFast has been unequivocally committed to the idea that we will produce the highest quality product. We focus on this each and everyday, and have made solid progress by partnering with leading companies across the space such as Uniquify, TSMC, CoolIT, Sea Sonic, and CIARA and, more importantly, by finding a balance between expediency and quality.

We’re standing by that now. While we’d like to have these rigs to you sooner, it’s more important for us to get it right than to rush it. These machines are not meant to last just a month, but to generate value over a longer horizon — a goal only accomplished by building reliable, high quality products.

We’re as eager as any of our miners to see the rigs going into boxes — and until now we’ve been ahead of schedule. After all, we were the first in the industry to tape-out a custom 28nm chip, and thanks to deals with companies like CIARA and Sea Sonic, many of the components for the Baby Jets and Sierras are all ready to go. So as soon as the substrates meet our quality expectations, we’ll be able to move forward with production at incredibly quick rates.

To that end, and as part of our overall commitment to transparency, we’re posting a live schedule that will allow you to follow the progress of the rigs, and better anticipate when yours will arrive. We’ll be updating the schedule in real time as we get the latest information.

For those customers with our Miner Protection Program, remember you’ll be able to mitigate any time lost hashing with additional ASIC chips. We know that time is money — but so is hashing power. That’s why we designed the Miner Protection Program, and why now, as we reach the finish line, we’re making sure that the machines we produce are better than anything else on the market.

If you’ve got any questions about the production process or the ship dates, please email us directly at support@hashfast.com. We’re eager to get you these rigs, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.

Just an fyi - they are saying that they are leasing out equipment with HashFast chips, yet we have no idea who this is:

If you are behind this website, and have actually purchased equipment from us, please contact me personally, and I will confirm here.

I'm at a BTC meetup in Sunnyvale, where the Hashfast VP of Engineering is giving a talk right now.

This is admittedly rather time-sensitive, but if anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to ask 'em!

Ask if they're still on schedule for shipping next week.

Not surprisingly, this was indeed one of the questions that came up last night.

And, as of a few days ago, ... ...  it looks like we're probably going to slip, by about a week.

Ironically, not because of the silicon, even though that is the part of the system that takes the longest to manufacture. That's going through the foundry smoothly. But we ran into a delay sourcing one of our other components.

We've now found an alternative source. But that delay means it'll be challenging for us to ship finished systems before the end of October.

It's disappointing, but unfortunately these things happen. I'm glad we've made it this far through the process, and are still so close to our target date.

(I'm watching every day to see how close Cointerra will come to their targeted tapeout date.)

Amy,

Thank you for directly addressing these questions in this thread. I really appreciate you giving an honest reply as to shipping dates. With that being said, as we get closer to that date, can we expect more frequent updates regarding shipping?

Thanks
DHJ/WH

Yes, we will be sure to provide frequent updates regarding shipping. We will be posting an official blog to inform customers of these updates, so be sure to check our website in the upcoming days.

Cheers,

Ask them if orders can be picked up directly at the Montreal Quebec Canada factory and if so will Ciara collect the 15% Sales tax?

Hi Threader,

Ciara is an assembly and shipping house and is not equipped for customer pick ups. Therefore, the orders cannot be picked up from the Ciara building.

Cheers,

HashFast Team

As the units are shipping directly from Ciara, will any duty or tax be charged to Canadian customers?

Hi Mr. Teal,

HashFast is only responsible for the California sales tax. Any other taxes or duties are the responsibility of the customer.

Cheers,

HashFast Team

Amy, are you going to offer a reseller system similar to KNCminer's at any point?

Hi lemonte,

No, we are not and will not be offering a reseller program at anytime in the foreseeable future. There are many plans in the works and if such a program does become available, we will be sure to announce it.

Cheers,

Hey Guys,

We realized that a bit of confusion was raised yesterday in regard to the MPP. So this is the official post concerning the MPP:

HashFast will be providing all MPP customers (Batches 1, 2, and 3) with additional ASICs in the form of complete mini-boards.

Cheers,

Hey Guys,

This statement needs to be clarified and was released prematurely. We are currently in the final stages of an internal discussion about how to further protect miners moving forward for customers that opt into purchasing it.

We have preliminarily decided to further protect our miners that opt in for the miner protection at a higher price point, and provide full modules for orders placed in Batch 2 and 3.

We’re sorry this went a bit early - we’ll be back with full details as soon as we finalize and get the documentation together.

Cheers,
