Cypherdoc, what currency are Hashfast intending to pay their suppliers in?

you'll have to ask them.

We are trying to pay in BTC as much as possible.

ok, i just got off the phone with Skrodenis.

he linked me to the order queue which needs to have a couple of big orders added to it.  so at least it does exist and he "promises" me it will be released sometime today.

remember, i'm just a link, not "part" of the company.  i can only shake the trees and i've been doing alot of it recently.

Sorry for the delay guys, we wanted to ensure it was accurate.

I have posted it here:
https://hashfast.com/order-chain/

Orders processed during the last 48 hours will be added later today.

John, when will you post the order list publicly? I notice you've removed that from the site now.

I have posted it here:

How confident of shipping to customers are you if you have not taped out yet.

Very confident.

We are currently conducting a mock tapeout, and have already sent our GDS-II to the fab.

We are very very close to final tapeout.

-John

What does that mean? I thought "tapeout" just meant sending files to the fab. What actually happens in a "mock tapeout"? Do they just check for problems or something?

I don't doubt that you'll get your chip on time... I'm just curious about what the actual process entails.

Im not an engineer, and Simon might have to weight in here, but during a 'mock tapeout', we send files over to the fab, and they run some verifications against them.

Once again

HashFast & Cypherdoc

Explain to me like Im a 5 year old why if HashFast (Or whoever is the parent company) are a legitimate IRL business

1) Why are you BTC only & NO credit cards
2) Why do u need pre-orders and payment in full
3) Why dont you just take a down payment (non-refundable if you wanted)

4) With a real order book of downpayed orders it is fairly easy to get a CAPEX loan for the production run

Bearing these things in mind how the fruit cake are you guys not a scam and either

1) FastTalked a respected member or
2) (just putting it out their so dont have a fit ) Paid Cypherdoc off

It just does not make ANY SENSE whats soever KNC after an initial start did and do CC

Intrested to hear from both Cypherdoc & Hashfast rep to reply to my vaild questions :/

We *fully* understand miner skepticism towards ASIC companies.  It is rational and justified.

Re: why sales instead of equity, HashFast is not the first technology company Simon &I have founded in Silicon Valley (see www.Devicescape.com).
There are critical differences between companies that start out by selling pieces of themselves and companies that start out by making products their customers want.
It defines who your #1 priority is, for one.

Roughly 90% of HashFast is owned by us and the people who work here - and the other 10% is by our families and friends.
Further, everyone here including ourselves is subject to a 4-year vesting schedule.
Which means that what comes of this to any of us is dependent on creating long term value.

Re: why BTC - we support BTC and are using it for as much of our business as possible.
We are aware that this is costing us sales. That's OK.

Re: 'how are you different', we feel it's best to let  the miners who have visited our offices in person speak to that.

Hello HashFast, have you got enough pre-order money for tape-out and BOM? When will you tape-out? which foundry do you use?

Yes, Yes, very very soon, Can't say (under NDA with foundry)

Does the expected ship date of late October still look achievable?

Yes. We are exactly on track.

Yes, of course.

Certainly a lot more information regarding the GN chip.
Also about us, how we got here, the company, the Baby Jet, etc.

This is all info we've been meaning to get out for some time, but taping out a chip is an extremely intense process.
It's ending now - we'll be posting a lot more information, leading up to our tape-out this week.

In what dialect of English does "roughly" translate to "exactly"?

This is an excellent question.
Because we are accepting wire transfers, which can take 24 horus or more to clear, it's impossible to know the exact count at a given point in time.

The HashFast store is live and we have roughly 300 Baby Jets left.

We have attempted to reach everyone that initiated a purchase previously. If you would like to complete a purchase or speak with a  customer service representative, please call us at (800) 609-3445, or email us at sales@hashfast.com.

Delivery to Bulgaria (EU Country). Really?HuhHuhHuh??

Holy Moses, so that's how they get some extra money by overcharging on shipping? There's no way shipping to EU costs $750 Roll Eyes.

Hi Everyone,

Regarding shipping, we have not yet secured rates that we are happy with. We are working with two international air freight companies to secure better rates. Once we complete this process, we will absolutely refund the difference in shipping costs back to our customers.

Baby Jet product page updated just now:
  • Wording changed from "Shipments begin October 20-30" to "Shipments anticipated to begin: October 20-30"
  • The stock count just jumped around 100!  Shocked
  • New single chip mock-up image

Stock count jumping was either HF testing the shopping cart and using up sales 100 times, or upping their first batch from 550 to 650 units...

Stock count: it's related to the testing scenario you mention.

There was a period where the website shop was live but hidden, and we were simultaneously doing manual sales. I reduced the "inventory" available online so that we had a pool for manual sales. Didn't want to risk selling the same units twice. Now we've put those units back in the pool.

So to confirm: We are selling a total of 550 Baby Jets.

Hi Everyone,

In addition to what Amy is saying above, the inventory will also fluctuate at times as we close out orders from buyers who started the purchase process while we were experiencing technical difficulties, and later decline to complete the purchase.  We have been trying to reach out to everyone via phone and email that attempted a purchase last week.

Our intent is be as transparent as possible, and we will continue to do our best towards this goal.
