722  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [MINER] Phoenix - New efficient, fast, modular miner **BFI_INT support!** on: May 30, 2011, 10:00:35 AM
Is there any way to further enhance the reconnecting of phoenix to a pool?
I saw improvements in version 1.48, but if the pool is down for several minutes it seems to never reconnect.

Is there a voltage command through terminal?
Aticonfig doesn't support voltage modification as far as I know.
I use AMDOverdriveCtrl instead.

Used this guide to setup my 4x gpu machine earlier today and I haven't used Ubuntu since version 6.
Everything went perfect and I was mining within a couple of hours.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write and support this guide.

I use a Arctic cooling Accelero Extreme on my 5870. Excellent replacement fan kit, has 3 pretty big fans on the side though I'm not sure if they make one for the 5970 GPU.
730  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5970, Linux: How do I underclock the RAM below the allowed range? on: May 25, 2011, 02:09:21 AM
Thank you, I'll have a look at that, probably tomorrow.

What can I expect in terms of temperature by underclocking the RAM it to the 300-400MHz range?
My 5870 dropped from 75C to 58C  Cool

Hi,

There is a thread on this in the forum somewhere. But try to get hold of amdoverdrivectrl. I use it to downclock the RAM on a 5970.
I think this is the one, https://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=9569
It works, but would be nice to have a more streamline process.

yeah thats weird bro. I have been watching it too every day around this time.
Are you sure the server does not do any maintenance tasks at this time of day?

There are of course no cronjobs on my servers. But as servers are virtual, it might be caused by heavy maintenance of *other* machines.

Or perhaps your uplink does?

Uplink works well, I see normal traffic here.
Slush, forgive me for speaking out of line here but isn't it about time you invested in some real dedicated machines for your pool and not cheap VPS solutions?
733  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Setting *lower* bound on ATI cards (mainly for linux miners) on: May 24, 2011, 01:42:13 AM
Thanks for the tips, do you know of any way to do this purely in linux? (Ubuntu)

Very interesting, but just looking at that price gives me chest pains.  Angry
735  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Building a 4x GPU setup. Need some advice. on: May 20, 2011, 02:02:12 PM
Hi guys & gals.
I'm wondering while building a new rig should I just use the 4x x16 PCI-E slots and wedge my cards apart with an item? Or do you recommend buying flexi risers? I'm just a little worried about damaging the pcie slots from wedging the cards apart.

Thanks for your time!
