It's a nice start I think.  Smiley

I think Slush is now PPLNS, but I don't know how to confirm that.
Thanks for your effort so far,
Sam

It's a sort-of PPLNS. Unless I've misunderstood, it's a PPLNS with exponentially decaying share values.

Oil immersion cooling has been round for years, I understand big studios like Pixar are all over it. Chips generate heat.
What I don't understand is AM1's resistance around 0.005... What could anyone possibly expect from this cadaver?
Just wild longshot bets? Hoping for aliens to land and present the winning powerball? I don't get it. I could see bagholders holding in hopes of some outside chance, living in total denial, yes, but they create no volume.
This is so depressing

Are there any recent takers at 0.005?
Today 5 shares went for 0.0062
One share yesterday at 0.005
Drips and drops but on the 22nd 180 shares traded at 0.0062999
Defies logic
See it here https://www.havelockinvestments.com/order.php?symbol=AM1
It's not much volume, but any action at all makes no sense.
Bigger fools?

Or someone not managing their trading bot properly?

Revolt: Millions of N.Y. Gun Owners Refuse to Register Firearms
Only around 24,000 New Yorkers, many of them cops, complied with gun control law

http://www.infowars.com/revolt-millions-of-n-y-gun-owners-refuse-to-register-firearms/

Jesus! Millions of gun owners in NY state? I find these stats hard to believe.

According to Wikipedia the last census put the stat's population at 8.5 million, and you're saying there are millions of gun owners? Let be conservative and make that 2 million gun owners. Almost a quarter of the population - one in four of every adult and child - own a firearm and are upset about registering their guns?

I know (edit: the median) Americans are gun crazy and that on average there are ~ 90 guns for every one hundred citizens - but I thought there would be multiple guns per owner.

I just visited your site to see how you present the list of 666 different coins. I only see the usual list of 20 or 30 coins in the menu. Where are the rest?

And when I select CLAM -> BTC it doesn't show me the price. It keeps showing the LTC price, even if I wait for the animated bar thing to fill up a few times. There's a 404 error in the console, and some text about it having loaded the development version of the page. Not sure if relevant:

<snip>

I get the same - if you select clam the rate and limits are for the last coin selected, not updated to clam.
806  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool List on: June 25, 2015, 01:13:29 AM
proxy and proportional for now.. I thought I was reading on their website that they offer proportional payouts.. I got sidetracked by the phone.

"Our modified proportional payout system means that you can be sure every share you submit will be paid. No shares are discarded without being paid. Our method is resistant to pool hoppers."

Weird. If they're a proxy, I can't see hoe they could use any reward other than PPS since they're not solving the blocks themselves. If you have time it might be an idea to email them for clarification.
807  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool List on: June 25, 2015, 12:16:02 AM
actually was adding it to both pools I see on their website they offer both

Both proportional *and* PPS?
808  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool List on: June 25, 2015, 12:01:14 AM
Couple of things...

1) Why do you call multipool.us/cryptopros.com "p2pool proxy pools"?  They don't, as far as I know, contribute hash rate to the p2pool network.  The only p2pool proxy pool I can think of is OgNasty's "NastyPoP"... where he's got a ckpool instance on top of the p2pool framework.
2) P2Pool does indeed merge mine if the node operator configures it.  NMC, IXC, HUC, I0C, FSC, DVC, etc are all merge mined on p2pool.  Also, the fees are dependent upon the node operator as well.  It also can be configured to donate to the author of p2pool (forrestv).

Community members or pool ops told us that the pools were p2pool nodes. If this isn't the case., that needs to be changed.

innerchaos: is multipool.us still proportional? If thought they were PPS? (can't access their site from work to check). If Multipool is still a proxy pool but *not* a p2pool proxy, then I'd list them under "proxy pools" at the end.

Well, thank you for the compliment, but the offer still stands.

You can even keep the format the same - just quote my first couple of posts in this thread and make a new post. If you have time to do the research then that would be beneficial for everyone, I just don't have the time to do it.

If you could pm me the code of the posts i will just copy and paste exaclty as you have it. ( not sure if you have tables or special formatting.  ) The pictures i can add to my imgur or one of my personal hosted url's so you dont have to host them any longer.  I will of course ensure that you have full founding author credits.

If you hit the "quote" button under the post, you can copy and paste everything you'll need.

Edit: don't worry about author credits, just link to my thread in your first post.

O.K. Will do. I will get right on it when i get home here in a bit.
You copying OOC's post will not guarantee that your post gets stickied unless you show you're maintaining it for a while at the same standard.

Yes, I really didn't make that clear, sorry. As ck wrote, stickying is not going to happen because you create a new Pools list - only if you make it clear that you can maintain it.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with the format. its very detailed I just thought it was not maintained is all. like I said I did not realize your intentions were to let the pool operators inform you of changes or entries.. I kind of assumed you just researched it all and saved everyone else the time.

Its all good

I did not mean to offend Organofcorti , I did not realize that the pool Manager/Creator were responsible for maintaining their listing..

I would still maintain the list as i am slightly obsessive and would try and do my best.

Well if you really want to give a go PM OoC.  He asked a few pages back for someone else to take it over.  I wouldn't mind if a "slightly obsessive" individual such as yourself wanted to take up the task.  Remember this is for Bitcoin only and not for alt coin pools as they have their own section and list.

Also I don't think you offended anyone and I'm sorry if I gave the impression you did.
Sam

Yes, not offended at all, and I did ask if someone wanted to take over. Obsessive is good, as is having time to manage the list.

If you want to take over and you want to do it differently from the way I've done it,  post your suggestion and either poll or ask people to comment if they have any problems with you taking over the mining pools list. If the readers of this board are OK with the change, I'll lock my post and get it unstickied, and let you get yours stickied.

So, long story short - post an example of what you would do if you managed the list and if people don't mind it, I'll pass the responsibility to you. How does that sound?

813  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: June 24, 2015, 02:15:06 AM
can a mod remove this sticky so someone can start a new Pool List.  hopefully someone that will keep it updated

Can you tell me which ones need to be removed or added? I have no way of knowing what needs to be done until someone tells me.

814  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: I am being paid way less for my shares? on: June 23, 2015, 09:56:08 PM
stop thinging in day ... P2Pool must be viewed in 1 complet month.
2 months with a little miner (less than 360Gh/s).
....

I can pick plenty of months or two month periods where p2pool has earned miners less than expected. Same goes for any pool. The only way you get to escape variance is by using a PPS reward method.
815  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: I am being paid way less for my shares? on: June 23, 2015, 03:09:56 PM
instead of use a centralized (and, perhaps, derivated reward) ... use the P2Pool (nodes on the signature) to have a 1:1 reward like in the https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Why do you think p2pool will have zero variance?
816  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ongoing Civil War in America on: June 16, 2015, 04:06:33 AM
This is all delusional, September Clues bullshit.  If only I could buy your account to get a signature campaign while you immolate yourself to protest...whatever.  Besides, what's wrong with worshiping Satan?  I've earned my respect in the street.  The devil's been good to me.

I think you're supposed to just make up your own stuff and add it to the pile. No one is meant to take this seriously - not one thing mentioned here has come true.
817  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: June 10, 2015, 10:52:09 PM
Though I have nothing against summer, I'd prefer eternal late-spring weather. Tired of temperatures like +36-37 degrees Celsius, continental climate completely sucks. Maybe I should move closer to sea?

You could move closer to southern Tasmania. Pretty sure that would be a much more comfortable temperature, all year around.
818  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: June 09, 2015, 06:35:24 AM
Summer is heating up all over the northern hemisphere, most pools are seeing a drop in hash rate, and thus the back-to-back negative diff adjustments we just saw recently.

Except that doesnt explain the 3% incoming increase =P
So, wishful thinking
...

Anything less than +/= 4.5% per retarget is indistinguishable from variance. That is, if difficulty moves up or down by less than ~ 4.5%, you can't prove that the underlying hashrate has changed significantly.

819  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: June 07, 2015, 03:39:32 PM
I am trying to get rid of the limitation that doesn't allow you to look for patterns that overlap.

For example: I would like to be able to search for 1ad, 1adf, 1adfg,

but it will not let me search for all of them in a row, instead it will say that 1adf and 1adfg "are ignored because they overlap with 1ad"

So how can I fix that? Or am I missing a parameter?

If you're using vanitygen and you know regex, try using that (I think it's the -r switch?).

If you're using oclvanitygen and you know regex, try running a batch to create a few hundred million '1a' addresses, and regex for the others you want.

820  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: For fun: the lowest block hash yet on: June 01, 2015, 12:49:15 PM
Yep, that's it.  I thought I noticed some sort of patterning in the color coded one earlier, looks like it's more pronounced in this - I suspect that's just the graphing package and things tricking my eyes

Randomness can be clumpy - if it was all evenly spaced, it wouldn't be random. Humans are very good at pattern recognition, but it's easy to squeeze clumpy randomness into a pattern.

or the ECDF would have shown them as well

Maybe, but the CDF ignores changes over time. If there were strange patterns from time to time,  it might not show up in the CDF / PDF, if the patterns balanced out.

Nice work as always Smiley

Cheers!
