1141  Economy / Securities / Re: [NINJA] Ninja Mining Cooperative - Information and Share Trading Thread on: April 13, 2014, 07:15:16 PM
Payouts are a bit delayed this week.  Between bad pool luck, the low price of BTC, and network difficulty increases we fell short of meeting expenses on all group buys.  We are converting the namecoin earnings for group #1-#3 to give them an income boost and arranging a private buyer for this weeks earnings to get a favorable rate.  If we can just hold on for a couple more weeks the Franken-Jupiters will arrive to "save the day". Payout will be processed by Midnight Pacific today.

Thanks for the update.
1142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What if Bitcoin was copied but didn't need to generate coin. on: April 12, 2014, 06:26:39 AM
This came to mind tonight, and I am sure someone can poke some holes in this a million times. That is what I am hoping for to give me a better understating.

I am going to use Western Union for this example, and that type of service.

Mining is used to generate new coin and also process transactions, if so desired.

The network adjusts difficultly to maintain a steady time frame of when new coin is generated but more importantly how often transactions are processed. (or do I have this backwards?)

What if a company created a private network, based off the same concept, but eliminated the coin generation and used it for cash only transactions. The difficulty  would maintain a constant, and the transactions would happen on a timely manner.

The only thing that would have to be implemented is a proof of work, or in this situation a proof that the actual cash was received before it could be processed to any corner of the world.

What am I missing? I am sure it is something.

Thanks for reading.

1143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too much scamming in Bitcoin on: April 12, 2014, 12:21:19 AM
I really matters what YOU are doing with your BTC. I have a good friend I got into it and he is not interested in trying to mine, securities, group buys or anything like that. He travels abroad and is going to try and use it in actual commerce. He is hoping to find a pub, coffee shop or restaurant around his hotel in which every city/country his is in and have a spot to check out instead of just opening the phone book or using hotel reference to find some where to eat or drink after a meeting. Sure, your wallet could always get compromised, but again if it does, that is mostly your own fault. He has yet to have a transaction, but I doubt he is going to have to worry about being scammed.

Move the fan to the other side and plug it into the other blade for comparison.

1148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I got a transaction I wasn't expecting. on: March 31, 2014, 01:01:16 AM
This particular transaction was to my coinbase wallet and only for .010, I guess it is mine now.
1149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I got a transaction I wasn't expecting. on: March 30, 2014, 10:14:03 AM
woah what happened? some guys accidentally sent coin to you? maybe you could look into opening a support ticket with coinbase?

I guess it shows how little I know about the network. The coin isn't worth THAT much... just a strange is all.
1150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / So I got a transaction I wasn't expecting. on: March 30, 2014, 09:58:34 AM
The title says it all. I was expecting two transactions today, they both happened. About forty five minutes after the last expected transaction I received some coin. I am not sure why, but I think it was a mistake. Is there any way I can return the coin to sender? This particular transaction happened on coinbase. A very surprised e-mail after a night out.

I am trying to change the default payout and it doesn't seem to be taking, I set it for .1 and on the right pane it still shows the standard default and time frame. I tried setting it to the minimum, below default and the same thing. Left it there for a bit and it seems no pay out was initiated. If one were to want to withdraw all coins regardless of the amount, above minimum, how would they go about this?

Thanks for reading.

You don't initiate withdrawals, payments are made when blocks are found. If your balance is above the minimum then you get paid once your shares are in the front of the queue. If your coins are already above the minimum you don't need to do anything, payments are automatic.

Okay, so my full balance will be paid out once it reaches the front of queue.

Thank you!

Did you use the your BTC address to sign the message allowing the changes to be saved?

Quote right from the page:
"You must use a bitcoin client which supports standard signatures for your mining address to sign options!"

I would guess you didn't read the entire page.

So unless my client allowed signed messages I could never withdraw all my coin? I did read that but mother of all fuck ups assumed I was fine giving this pool a test run.

Well crap. I had mine shipped to work to make sure I was there to receive it. With an order date of 21st looks like I need to go in on Saturday. Who is the carrier? UPS, FEDEX, DHL, USPS? That way I can ball park what time I need to go in. No biggie really, I mean these things are coming from China after all and 5 days paid shipping is pretty amazing really, even if it is 6.

Hello Zork,   UPS Express Saver.

Thanks for the reply! Noon it is Smiley I will be sure and post once I get it!

1157  Bitcoin / Mining / What's with all these IP's hitting blocks? on: March 26, 2014, 06:33:58 AM
It seems there are several IP's hitting hard for a day or two at a time and then dropping off the face of the earth. Is this just hardware testing, and many at once? What company is out of Germany?

Anybody ordered without any issues from NinjaTech?

https://ninjatech.org

I completed an order for a new S1 on Friday and I am getting emails the order is completed, but can't seem to get a tracking code from them after submitting a couple of requests via there online support.

Feels like like the wild, wild west dealing with these vendors.

Thanks
Rob Huh

greaterninja is NinjaTech I believe. They are dealing with some high volume since the price drop and according to the thread, units are shipping on time. I also ordered one on Friday and expect it around this Friday.

1159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 23, 2014, 11:49:28 PM
Hi, anyone knows if it's possible to connect two Antminers S1 bridging over LAN? I mean, I have one Antminer with WiFi Antenna connected to my router and I would like the second one to connect with a CAT5 cable to the first Antminer. Could that work? I have seen one can bridge interfaces and one can create a DHCP server on the WWAN interface... but I don't feel like bricking my device, therefore if anybody knows if it's possible, great, otherwise I'll just buy another WiFi Antenna Smiley
whay dont bay some cheap switch like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704027
plug and play

Cause I can go get an antenna for 5€ tomorrow... but tonight I gotta sleep with this loud mofo in my room... router is here Smiley

Oh and that link is for a switch with no WiFi... my miners are on the balcony... and I can't get a CAT5 there. Only WiFi

You keep them outside?!  Huh
1160  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 23, 2014, 11:16:28 PM
I am pretty sure the answer is no, but would it be possible to run 1 S1 (possible OC) and 1 BE Cube (on low) with a Corsair Builder 750 PSU?

What is the wattage requirements for the BE Cube?

Specs show 200w (not OCed).
http://www.amazon.com/ASICMiner-Block-Erupter-Cube-Miner/dp/B00H8K3MZU

Probably

Edit:  Sell the cube to some poor sucker unless your power is free.  The cube consumes more power than it produces in coins, even if not OCed.
200W for 30GH/s ... OMG

Yeah, they run hot as hell too. The plan was to keep one for another month or so running with the ant, might just end up selling them both. Hell, for what they are going for on e-bay that is almost another S1 :p

Thanks for the reply's
