621  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you use an ATM machine to buy Bitcoins? on: September 12, 2013, 07:58:24 PM
Government agents will wait till the ATM is full of cash before confiscating it.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is slowly shit. on: September 12, 2013, 07:56:38 PM
Pretty lame if you ask me - especially when bitcoin touts itself as being "free of transaction fees". Sooo, you don't have to pay a fee, but it will take over a day for confirmation - gay.

I'm definitely holding onto my litecoins.

623  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin ATMs coming to Canada this fall on: September 11, 2013, 08:24:36 PM
*sigh*

Sorry, but there won't be any bitcoin ATMs popping up all over Canada this fall. The government would just take any that were put out there, including any money contained within.
624  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best way to get local businesses to start accepting Bitcoin? on: September 11, 2013, 08:09:13 PM
What a waste of time.

If businesses don't accept bitcoin, its to their own detriment. Buy whatever they're selling and offer it for bitcoin yourself. Then you make the profits that they won't.

625  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: September 10, 2013, 07:01:28 PM
Why is the FTC or KS AG office not going after BFL? BFL and its key people either have great contacts or have been extremely lucky.

Wahhhhh...why won't mommy and daddy government do something to protect me from my own stupid decisions?..wahhhh!

626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Isn't deflation a bad thing? on: August 29, 2013, 05:49:32 PM
Yeah, cheaper prices are bad.

<facepalm>
627  Other / Off-topic / Re: A Factual History of Freemasons and Banking - Not Internet Sourced on: August 29, 2013, 05:48:00 PM
I can't say that the caliber of the membership today is anything like what it was in 1776.

Well, theoretically, the goals remain the same, but I can't argue this point. The one Mason I have personally made acquaintance with was 1776 material, though.

Most of the ones I've met were junkies.

...high membership standards?

I think they're mostly just initiating family members, and with each generation, there has been an overall dumbing down and decrease in character. Being born into extra benefits is destructive to the soul over the long term.
628  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: [SOCAL] Southern California Meetups on: August 29, 2013, 04:11:49 PM

I'm gonna try. I wish I knew about this sooner because now I'm locked into a bunch of other crap. I'd much rather go to Libertopia.
629  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-08-22: Mises Circle: The Problem With Altcoins: Why None Can Succeed on: August 25, 2013, 10:46:27 PM
There's no "magic" in bitcoin numbers. What I like better about litecoin is the faster transaction times - that's a clear advantage.

I don't see a future with only one cryptocoin. That's very old-world-type thinking <insert all seeing eye here>.

So, you like it because you like it - great circular reasoning. You also collectively ignored everything else I said, good job.

I do see a future with other coins that have something to contribute, not these dial-twiddling crap-coins. But you would've realized that if you had read my fucking post.

Nooo..I like it because of faster confirmation times. How hard is that to understand?
630  Economy / Securities / Re: Where can i short Tesla stock using bitcoin? on: August 24, 2013, 11:39:27 PM
Is it overbought? I see them all over the place in LA.
631  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-08-22: Mises Circle: The Problem With Altcoins: Why None Can Succeed on: August 24, 2013, 11:37:41 PM
Seems like there are some people on here who are hell-bent on slamming alt-coins.

I'd be more optimistic about alt-coins if they actually had something interesting to offer, beyond twiddling the existing Bitcoin magic numbers and calling it "new" and in some misguided cases, "better".

Clear enough for you?

who's wants to wait that long to buy something small and on the go?
Especially if it happens in a public place where there are witnesses and CCTV cameras everywhere making it more likely the guy will be identified and arrested.

You have obviously never reported a "crime" to the police...
And probably think cops look for lost dogs.

^this

Also, what about a 1~2 bitcoin transaction? I really don't want to wait over an hour for that to happen either, but I also don't want to be ripped off for $100-$200 either. In my case, I was selling 2 bitcoins, and the guy didn't just want to hand me $200 and trust that the coins were going to be in his account.

633  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-08-22: Mises Circle: The Problem With Altcoins: Why None Can Succeed on: August 23, 2013, 10:33:07 PM
I like litecoins because so far anyway, I've never had to wait an hour for confirmations, like I have had to with bitcoin.

Instant gratification doesn't mean it will scale. But go ahead, risk your own money.

Has nothing to do with "instant" gratification, as neither coin is "instant".

What becomes a problem is when I am trying to do an exchange with someone at a coffeeshop, and we're both on a schedule, and we're both waiting for over an hour for just 3 confirmations.

Waiting an hour for confirmations is no big deal for online shopping where you're gonna wait for shipping anyway, or if you're buying something big, but who's wants to wait that long to buy something small and on the go?

If I wanted to really risk my money, I'd put all my eggs in one basket.

635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 08, 2013, 04:55:14 PM
Detroit is actually ahead of the rest of the country. It was the first city in the country to host large scale production manufacturing. On the downside, it's been a leader in welfare and socialism the last 50 years, which is why it is collapsing today. The rest of the country (and world) isn't that far behind.

If you want to see the future of USA, take a good look at Detroit. That's what the inevitable result of a nanny state looks like.

The good news is, now is the opportunity to build the right way without government interference. Seems a lot of people have their heads in the right place there:

Check out the video on here:

Can you think of any government police chiefs who talk like this? TMC might not be everything agorists want, but they seem like a huge step in the right direction to me.

Hopefully. And it wouldn't be bad to see the SEC investigating also the very well known "hero" members that gave Trevor credibility and promoted his ponzi by running PTs and such...

Totally agree with this, even though some of them might already have been punished pretty bad...

Yeah sure,  some of these were Pass-Throughs, but still I am sure some took some heavy losses here.

Most of those guys are indeed scammers. I think most of them were in on it and probably didn't suffer any losses.

A great day!  Smiley

But also do not forget:
Without a government "service" like the SEC, nothing would have happened!

That is pointed towards some tea party supporters here who would like to have no government...  Roll Eyes

Don't be a douche. If there was no government monopoly on the use of force he'd already have been hanged.

and for those that say none of us would have done anything to him - you're crazy. I put a guy in the hospital when I was 16 over $600. Thing is, I didn't have any money in BTCST myself - I'm not that stupid to believe in 7% weekly returns.
638  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-07-23 sec.gov SEC Charges Texas Man With Running Bitcoin-Denominated Ponzi on: August 07, 2013, 03:08:17 AM
Great news! I hope he gets put in a cell with a large thug who uses him as a F*** doll. That would certainly be appropriate.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 07, 2013, 01:25:46 AM

I actually am familiar with that area. Pretty scary. You don't want to go out at night around there.
640  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Firearms - Federally Licensed Dealer on: August 06, 2013, 01:29:18 AM
Selling guns for bitcoins doesn't require following any regulations.

All law in USA is commercial. If you're not using their negotiable instruments (FRNs) - they really don't have a say in the matter.
