141  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: WTB 1 BTC on: September 24, 2013, 05:36:25 PM
Would be great if someone could sell me some, Iam from Germany and the only way right now to get some is at bitcoins.de but that kinda sucks and take up to 5 days to get them :/
I would love to pay u with paypal, (yes I know its risky for u as btc seller) but Iam trustworthy so if anyone out there is willing to sell me some, just leave a comment or pm me thanks!
lol! It's not risky, it's throwing away money. You have no reps whatever, even I sent AmericanDesi the money first (my decision) because he's far more trusted than me. Reps matter.

@coolbreeze16 : Thanks for that mate..! I appreciate it.

Yes. Selling btc for paypal is strictly No-No for me. I have turned down thousands of dollars worth order just for that. Its always better to have YOUR btc in YOUR wallet than somebody else's.
Righto! If he wants to buy thru paypal, he can do it on ebay where sellers send a pendrive with *free* bitcoins (which is actually what you pay for)...there, no reversal. There's a 'tangible' object sent.

If the saturns deliver more that rated (200 GH/s) we all will share it, right?
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking of switching to mining Feathercoin instead of Litecoin on: September 24, 2013, 08:06:32 AM
Multiminer or multipool.us serves a much better purpose. Plus I've been keeping an eye on coinchoose. This last week, LTC has been on the top of the list more often than FTC. Don't just go for lower diff. You also have to anticipate how far their exchange value will rise. And as the LTC saying goes 'the silver to bitcoin's gold'

Who says no illegal tapping in urban areas Cheesy Aren't there slums on the outskirts? Even thela wallas do that.

Do you have Bluefury USB miners 2.7 GH/s ones
Bluefury/Redfury/Nanofury 1st batch units have worse ROI than the USB block eruptors. When the 2nd batch arrives the market will be afloat with KnC/BFL/Avalon monsters.

1. A 'profiles' system. Not everyone is running dedicated mining rigs, some fit in 2-3 GPU's in their regular use PC. When hashing is going on at full rate the PC is too laggy. When I used .bats, I made two versions for each currency, full hash for when I'm not using system and System usable when I'm trying to browse do mild stuff.

There's an option under Settings, Advanced backend miner settings called "Automatically set Desktop Mode based on computer use". If you enable this, when your computer is in use Desktop Mode (using a D intensity) will automatically be used. When you stop using the computer, the intensities entered under Settings will be used.

I know! The problem is only intensity changing isn't effective. When I don't use PC I run this to get 640 kH/s from 1 HD 7950
Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:7777 --gpu-threads 1 --gpu-engine 1045 --gpu-memclock 1455 --thread-concurrency 16384 -u coldbreeze16.1 -p x -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -I 20

When using PC, it becomes usable only after taking the intensity down to 14. But that gives me ~400 kH. But if I use this one, my PC remains usable while giving a 560 kH/s
Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:7777 --gpu-threads 2 --gpu-engine 1065 --gpu-memclock 1325 --thread-concurrency 8192 -u coldbreeze16.1 -p x --shaders 1792  --vectors 1 -w 256 -g 2 -I 13

That's weird. And I guess you have more important features to look after, but if you could implement this it'll be far more customizable. Thanks Smiley

I found multiminer while multipool.us was down and so far it works just great! More coins to choose from, freedom. Thanks a lot for the app.

An idea or two that could be implemented for further improvement:

2. Adjustable time gap for checking for the profitability?
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First GENUE LTC FPGA on: September 22, 2013, 05:03:29 PM
FPGA's kickstarted the arms race in SHA256, they'll do the same for sCrypt and fade into oblivion. Their high price vs even 10X better ratio won't be able let them stick their ground in sCrypt race beginning next year sometime. People are probably already planning ASIC's with on die memory, something FPGA's won't be getting, more so for 'salvaged' FPGA's

151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: mcxNOW Awesome exchange :D on: September 20, 2013, 08:51:35 PM
Just because it doesn't give you a piece of the pie and has lower rates for selling your coins doesn't mean it's bad. In this crypto world, trust is a rare commodity and I'll latch onto anything I get. Cryptsy has got that. Agreed I do less of trading but I haven't yet faced any issue severe enough on cryptsy
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First GENUE LTC FPGA on: September 20, 2013, 08:45:10 PM
I remember reading about another guy trying to get some FPGA to work on scrypt, it kinda looked like the spartan, doing 37 kH/s. And this, and also this scam http://scryptasic.org/   Something big is surely coming along *grinning*

I think that was my open source project (just using the bare FPGA, and NOT using external RAM). One of the contributors got it running on a pretty big altera chip at around that speed. The spartan LX150's are topping out at around 8kHash/sec and probably won't get very much faster than that. It just a hobby project really, but might find some use for the old bitcoin fpga miners rather than just scrapping them (only 15kHash/sec on a Lancelot though, so its not really that useful).

FPGA's had been around before cryptocur and since they can be reprogrammed unlike ASIC's you could just sell them away, right?
153  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Buy from Amazon , pay in btc - Shipped across India :) on: September 20, 2013, 08:37:07 PM
Indian customs officers are really bad
about 8% customs for smartphones
about 20% for apple products
for branded clothes they can take 70-80% custom
and most important they will tear packages if you sent any smartphone sealed customer will not get it sealed they will check it whats inside.
interesting idea but i think it will not work Sad.

They don't open a package unless there's no valid bill pasted on top and they doubt you're trying to skimp on taxes, totally random though. And you might actually get a call from them to send a fax of receipt if available or they'll make an ESTIMATE on their end. This ESTIMATE could be really off but if you do have a bill (which you should) the maximum customs is 26.5% and you won't even pay that much usually unless you're unlucky. You could try bribing too

Quote
For instance, i recently go a package from home with few clothes along with Aracanut (pan masala) in them (for Ganesh Chaturti). US Customs confiscated it.

You mean kattha (Areca catechu)? Holy crapshit! That on a ban list! Probably one of those US officials found the hard way the effect of chronic pan chewing on teeth  Shocked
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Multi-Coin][Stratum] multipool.in newbies support thread on: September 20, 2013, 06:13:14 PM
Try on something faster, the hash rates on LTC and NVC hardly show up. Since DGC diff is fluctuating I suggest you try CGminer with WorldCoin to try out. And besides you mentioned 10MH/s so I assumed you to be mining TRC. If you're mining LTC etc, you sure you're adding --scrypt switch? Get rid of the .conf and run this from command line

Quote
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:3342 --thread-concurrency 16384 -u xxx.1 -p x -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -I 20

You might play with the thread concurrency value and Intensity values. Try mining for 30 mins and then see
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: mcxNOW Awesome exchange :D on: September 20, 2013, 05:49:47 PM
And then run away with your money? Not even 10K accounts? No thanks, I'll stick to cryptsy

You *really* called them? I read on the forum about their phone numbers not working or something like that. CoinTerra haven't been really very public with details. I'm putting my trust in KnC for now. They've been quite communicative. I might invest in a GB next month, dependent on circumstances.

Why should we trust you, your only a member  Huh I am not trying to be rude  Wink
Thanks

Yeah, you posted in Waldo's GB, so you know. I'm not saying CoinTerra's won't be worth it, but one should wait until they ship first batch in december. IF they do, go for January batch at almost 1/3rd price. I intended to invest in Waldo's GB but rather invested in a KnC Saturn. IF that ships in time I'll make a lil bit and add some more to go with a CoinTerra GB.

BTC is gonna rise? Yeah maybe it will, if you're betting on that, you will make far more investing in buying BTC low and selling them high. That's what I do with WDC. I pump and dump it. Look on cryptsy. Been dumping loads of cheap WDC to bring it down from .000032 to .000027, And then I bought a load of WDC to sell when it goes back up :p But WDC mining is nascent, BTC mining aint

EDIT: Oh so it's you! :p Sorry to be harsh, lots of scammers around
