I have the "Too many failures" message when trying to login from my home network. The only way I can log in is using my phone's data.

How can I address this problem?

Go onto the discord channel and kano will sort you out.
22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Better efficiency coming to your S19 from Bitmain on: January 10, 2023, 04:49:00 PM
Managed to get it working on my S19's, forgot to say they were non-pro versions, S19-95T

Had to try a couple of times, but it stuck in the end.

23  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Better efficiency coming to your S19 from Bitmain on: January 02, 2023, 05:42:25 AM
I can't get the LPM firmware to load on my S19's

Bear in mind my S19's had original June 2020 firmware on them

I got the 17MB intermediary firmware loaded ANTMINER-S19-release-202111161922.bmu

But when I try and load Antminer-S19-merge-release-20221227070716.bmu it just says its uploading and installing, but it doesn't install, it just refreshes the page an doesn't reboot the miner and the logs/screens don't indicate any change.

Was there an earlier release? If so can someone please link me?
24  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Better efficiency coming to your S19 from Bitmain on: January 02, 2023, 02:24:32 AM

Highlights for low power mode
1. Improves efficiency by 16%, from 34 to 28.5 W/T
2. Drops hashrate by ~ 23%

I guess you could also word it:

1. Drops power usage by ~35% from 3209W to 2088W
2. Drops hashrate by ~23%

25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: December 02, 2022, 01:47:06 AM
Sounds like the IP address of the Apollo is in a different range to the one the new router is using, maybe the Apollo had been given a fixed IP address rather than using DHCP to pickup the address.
26  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Have anyone made 1 BTC per month in Past Times? on: December 01, 2022, 11:05:59 AM
Or if you are mining solo with USB stick miner you can have a chance to win a block with 6.25btc plus mining fees.

I honestly don't think anyone would ever succeed...

And yet thats exactly what people have managed. Relatively recently even.
27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: manually submit the golden nonce via bitcoind on: October 04, 2022, 01:33:49 PM
Thanks for that link. Unfortunately it doesn't answer my question.

Ah, thought you'd need something to generate the "candidate block" by hand before you could submit it Smiley

Here you go: Bitcoin mining by pencil and paper
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing the FutureBit Apollo BTC - A Full Node/Mining Platform for the Home! on: September 21, 2022, 05:38:05 PM
Maybe wait till it stops synching and see if it starts mining, CPU might be overloaded
30  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: ADVICE -Can not upgrade to s9_Web_Package_(BraiinsOS+) -Cannot Find Signature!!! on: September 12, 2022, 08:32:03 AM

It does state -DNS Servers part -Comma separated values, so does that mean i enter 192,168,1,1 instead of 192.168.1.1 ?

That just means if you have more than one DNS server you separate the IP addresses or domain names by commas

DNS #1: 192.168.1.1
DNS #2: 1.1.1.1
DNS #3: 8.8.8.8

DNS Servers: 192.168.1.1,1.1.1.1,8.8.8.8

I think the only other one is this: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ckpool&c=apps&gl=GB

What exactly are you missing from checkpool? On mine it lists all my miners, with their current hash rate and alerts me if one goes offline or drops below a certain threshold.

I think the only thing Checkpool doesn't do that I would like it to do is detect when a block is found. But for most big pools you wouldn't really want that, its only with lower hashrate pools that we get all excited when a block is found.

For anyone getting excited check the date of the first post in this thread.  Roll Eyes  Grin

Hi, how was your experience in Canada with D-Central? i need to repair 7 antminer s17 +

They have the miners, but ETA for the repair is in November, so I won't know before then.

Cost to repair each miner is roughly what I paid for the miner in the first place.

Update, the miners are finally repaired. Only took 11 months. But of course now they are almost worthless Sad

Plus I don't really know if they are repaired, only that they say they are repaired, I trust them but a lot can happen between them shipping and me seeing them hashing again.

Will continue to update

34  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [INTEREST/WTB] GekkoScience Compac F 200-400 gh/s # EU-region preffered on: July 12, 2022, 05:15:44 PM
i know the authorized reseller too - i ordered the 7port usb hub there last time Wink
unfortunately the usb miner i was looking for is not available at the moment... Tongue
must have to be patient, which is perhaps also better... because then perhaps the BTC price rises and i must then pay less satoshis from me Grin

edit: maybe someone from Bitshopper.de is also registered here and can give more information?

I've found them quite responsive to emails
35  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CKPOOL solo pool gives ERROR on mainnet.realloc():invalid next size.Help please? on: July 11, 2022, 09:02:02 AM
Quick question ... if I run a BTC node in prune mode, will I still be able to mine off it? or does pruning disrupt the mining process! I'm looking into setting up my own ckpool node (for the fun of it)
Yes, but performance would be shit.
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Solo-Bitcoin.com a community driven SOLO pool with 0% fee "Chip" based reward on: June 18, 2022, 09:44:50 AM
Simple question: why are you doing this all?

I think that you just need to read the last paragraph of their previous post.
37  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 266 blocks solved! on: June 15, 2022, 05:08:06 PM
There's no "memory" in probabilities.

The chance of finding a block is the same every time (given same difficulty).

The fact that a block was found right now doesn't mean the next one can't be found right after (or even at the same time).

It's like saying the probability of getting a 6 in a dice roll changes if you just got a 6. It doesn't. It's still 1/6 for the next roll as well.

well thanks for the lesson in how PoW mining works lol but while you are correct that the chance of finding a block is the same every time (given same diff), this is precisely the reason you are also wrong. That is not how probability theory works. Your analogy is flawed.

Probability = Number of desired outcomes / Number of possible outcomes.....so in this case, rolling a die and getting a 6 is indeed 1/6

But since the second event is independent of the first (i.e. the outcome of one event has no effect on the probability of the second event), then the formula becomes...

Probability of both = Probability of outcome 1 x Probability of outcome 2.....so actually the chances of a 6 being rolled consecutively are (1/6)(1/6)=1/36

Sorry, class is dismissed now  Grin

No but really, no hard feelings. I love math so believe me, I've thought about stuff like this many times in my life.  Anyhow, with the chance of finding a block in btc mining being so low (without a substantial amount of the network hashrate), the chance of finding two in any short time frame is very very low....but it isn't impossible which is why it does happen from time to time.  Take care my fellow miner!  Cool

Actually you are mistaken, the second formula you have given is the probability of rolling two sixes simultaneously with TWO dice, not rolling a 6 consecutively.

39  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Suddenly blocked by Kano.is pool on: May 24, 2022, 11:39:47 AM
No idea about the phone number thing though, they don't have my phone number and I run the discord channels for the pool.
Maybe that changed after I joined?

Yeah its a new thing (last 7 months), don't think it happens to everyone, and not sure if its a requirement for new signups.

Its a flag that can be set on the server as well, but discord mainly use it for account verification.

It can happen at any time apparently, I don't have it on mine but then I only use discord for three channels and don't game on it.
