221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Birthday ETH on: November 23, 2019, 08:31:26 AM
I missed this birthday. Ethereum is a great coin which it's birthday should not have come without much jubilation from the community. Dogecoin might be a proper meme or community coin but I think Ethereum is larger. If only Vitalik will be more relative with the varsed huge Ethereum community, things would have been a lot easier and better. Especially with a promo or community reward to celebrate eth bithday just like Bitcointalk does
222  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forum is 10 years old! on: November 23, 2019, 08:12:33 AM
Happy birthday Bitcointalk. Reading through Theymos Post got me a bit nostalgic on how the journey has been so far. Not many people thought we would be here by now but here we are. I hope the community continues with the hard work in improving the bitcoin/altcoin community. Global adoption is the goal and we are almost there! Happy Birthday!
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff: China’s Gold Backed Crypto is better than Bitcoin on: November 23, 2019, 08:06:58 AM
no coin is better than bitcoin. maybe many say that Chinese coins can beat bitcoin, but it is important to remember that centralized crypto is hated by the community. so it is impossible for the coin to have a place here, even if it is backed by gold or fiat once.

Anything negative from come from any critique on bitcoin. A lot of the has slandered bitcoin but yet, bitcoin has remain tail and the focus of cryptocurrency. China rates Neo above bitcoin yet it can influence the market reaction towards it. Btc remain king as it is the base pair of all coins and I don't see that changing ever
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Terms People Use in Cryptocurrency on: November 19, 2019, 11:29:11 PM
Well!! Did you know? the top crypto terms people use in crypto market, one must know in order to understand the crypto space
HOLD, FUD, To the moon, Bagholder, ATH and many more.

What's your point of view on this?

I do. It's basically one of the first few things a newbie learns about cryptocurrency asides learning how to create myetherwallet and maybe a Bitcointalk account. These terminologies are commonly used in crypto chats too and it makes it fun and interesting. I remember when Philippines were more popular with Telegram group questions such as "when moon" and "when distribution". Lol
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GameCredits (GAME) - Up 230% - What Happened? on: November 19, 2019, 11:20:51 PM
Anyone knows what happened with GameCredits (GAME) price today? It's up 230% and I cannot find out why. That's more than double the price in

There are rumors that some new investors with huge capital has taken over. The news is all over Reddit but a bit sketchy on the details of the deal or buy so you rather exercise patience to wait for a new release from Game team to a certain the direction of the project before make any investment decision. Do not fomo!
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it Possible Stellar Lumens/XLM Reach $100 on: November 19, 2019, 10:58:28 PM
in the world of crypto currencies, none of the prices is impossible. many coins have a high price and arrive at a fall, then lose value. and coins with very bad value suddenly pump and make it have a high price. XLM is no exception. it is very possible. it's just that, pumping and surviving at $100 in this time is very difficult. because most of the crypto market is in bearish mode.

True. Its one thing for a coin to pump to such a high price and its another thing to have enough liquidity or support for the price. However, I don't see xlm getting to that In the next 1 or 2 year because of a simple FA. Keybase in agreement with the Stellar Development Foundation to airdrop 100million xlm for the next 20 months. So you see why I say so
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs Worldwide Hit New Milestone, Surpassing 6,000 on: November 19, 2019, 10:25:58 PM
Yeah, around 4000 of that ATM is in the US. So it's just really a matter of time because people (no coiner) are going to try and used Bitcoin ATM and see it for themselves. So it's a win-win situation and we might be closer to the adoption that we are all hoping to happen in the next five years. And I'm sure more companies are going to join this ATM business because it is booming, and operators will grow as well.

Quote
Here is a list of top bitcoin ATM providers on the market at the moment, which can be recommend. All of the providers have a long tracked positive history on the market:
  • Genesis Coin — provides one-way solution Satoshi1 for $6.8K and a two-way Satoshi2 machine for $2.1K on top of one-way price. There is also old Genesis1 for $14.5K.
  • General Bytes — provides a one-way bitcoin ATM called BATMTwo for 2849 USD and two-way bitcoin ATM BATMThreeL (basic version) for $7K. There are several different variations of BATMThree models family depending on hardware you choose.
  • Lamassu — provides one-way solution Douro ($6.5K), additionally Santo Tirso stand can be purchased to make it two-way for $5.5K making the total cost of two-way Lamassu solution of $12K.
  • BitAccess — provides a two-way bitcoin ATM machine for $7K

America's footprint all over cryptocurrency is bold but on the other hand, the government act like it loathes crypto or disinterested. I am happy China is now out of its shell to publicly accept crypto. Next in line will be America and followed by Europe because it looks inevitable now
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you any new ideas to replace the KYC? on: November 19, 2019, 10:19:12 PM
The crypto market is decentralized, we live here as anonymous and free and we love it! But this KYC process is killing the anonymity of crypto! To invest in a good IEO you need to verify KYC, to do a good bounty project, you will have to go through KYC! But why? You guys are doing nothing with our KYC, then why you keep asking our identity? A selfie by holding my ID card, wtf! Did we ever ask you to verify your KYC when you launch a project/bounty?  Why you are not coming with another option where a freedom crypto member doesn't need to show his face?

Ok, guys, now my question to you, Have you any idea what can be good to replace the KYC method?

So project/developer must have really pissed you off because you sound really angry. I still think that KYC is important to control money laundering and other money related crimes around the world and I also think KYC should not just be for bounty and surrounding hunters only but for project developers/owners as well. Including exchange operators to bring more balance
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges Tokens on: November 19, 2019, 09:10:25 PM
I have seen many exchanges have launched their own token like Binance with BNB, Idex with IDEX, Hotbit with HTB, Yobit with YO etc. where exchanges use their own tokens as another way to pay fees to support token. In addition to it, different strategies are used to create a hype like decrease in supply etc.
But if an exchange goes through a hard period of time and shuts downs then ultimately that token will come to its end because there is no community other than that exchange supporting the token simply because it has no usage outside the exchange.
According to me exchanges should promote the usage of their coins/tokens outside the exchange to build a community in support of it. If your community consists of huge individual entities who believe you then a great community can be formed. Otherwise lack of applications would lead these things to disaster.

You are not far of the truth. Many exchanges just launch native tokens and don't give it attention. The forget its a digital asset just like every other one on coinmarketcap. They need time dedicated to it towards support, marketing and financing. That is why most exchange tokens dies except for the few exchanges like Binance and Huobi that keeps reinventing the norm and innovating further to add extra bit of utility to their native token.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please help us understand your priorities when investing in Crypto on: November 19, 2019, 08:52:23 PM
Hi guys

We would like to ask your help by filling out this brief questionnaire regarding your priorities when investing in Crypto.

In the end we would like to use this information to help us shape an Alt coin offering. You can fill it out anonymously or leave your email if you would like more information once the project comes closer to fruition.

Thanks in advance and feel free to leave any comments or questions in thread

The survey on Bitcointalk is quite a good way to get a robust opinion on what cryptocurrency enthusiasts want. I am a sucker for low circulation supply coins with tight Tokenomics (zero or little bounty and airdrop), minimal bonus and high duration lock ups as well as having a minimum value product as well
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Deflationary model failed? on: November 19, 2019, 08:27:43 PM
This year some new things happened in crypto! The initial sale system changed to IEO, there was IAO, IGO and so many new model, but only IEO lives! However, my point is not that!

This year the Deflationary Ethereum based token based projects attracted me well. In every transaction, a certain amount of token will be burned automatically and the supply is very limited for every deflation project. The BOMB, Blockburn, Nuke, Bags, Blast, Fuze, and so many projects have come, but what happens next? It seems only BOMB and Blockburn project survives, others all likely dead or scam!
The idea was very unique, then why they are not making a success? What can be the reason guys?

I think the hype was basically on the model because of its uniqueness and novelty. However, there was no established advantage it has over other token models asides in curing more cost for the owner who have to use much higher gas in transactions.. Also, other token models can initiate a burn whenever they please, afterall, XLM just burned 55b worth of tokens. Furthermore most tokens built on the deflationary model turned out to be scam which made the model more notorious
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think all crypto is scam on: November 19, 2019, 08:11:11 PM
First there is an announcement, then there is 3 year Roadmap,
extended each year with meaningless additions, fake recruiting of
employees, trade interrupts, software announcements, wallet updates, changes
quizes, games, givaways, airdrops, forks, ICOs etc, etc, etc.

I've seen several coins with great tech which is perfectly quick and secure, anonymous (or not) and safe.
They all have mobile wallets and wallets for every OS.
Despite this fact they cannot be adopted. Nobody wants to use them, there is no real need for them.
A team of good programmers could develop a blockchain which can replace banks and paper money
in a month. Another month for testing and another month for setting up nodes across the globe.
The main point behind all this is: who controlls these programmers?

Voilla. it is that easy. That is why I think all these announcements and Roadmaps are bullshit.

Lol. Quite hilarious. Frankly, 99 percent of all cryptocurrency projects are profit oriented. This speech "we are doing it for the tech" or "we are here for adoption" are all bollocks created to deceive unsuspecting members of the cryptocurrency ecosystem to buy their coins while they smile to tether. Do the best you can and never forget to look after yourself in crypto. Once you waste time in any trade, chances are you might get dumped om
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have created a list of 43 social media based on blockchain or tokenized on: November 19, 2019, 07:49:29 PM
That's quite a list you have there OP. Kodus for doing such a painstaking research work. I am amazed at the number you have there. But I don't know if most still work effeciently because I believe the tokenised social media platform created by most of these projects are usecases that might have been abandoned. I am happy Steemit, Minds, publish0x and Cryptocoinpravda are still standing strong
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges Tokens on: November 19, 2019, 06:06:20 PM
I don't think that the tokens from some of the exchanges you mentioned will die. An example is BNB, besides being used on the binance market as a trading pair, BNB is also traded in many markets. Don't you think they now have a strong community in the market ?

Some die anyway. I bought Coinex Tokens last year with over 2000 usd thinking it's the next best thing. Immediately the public got wind of it and swooped In to invest, the token crashed. Supplied increased drastically too. I had to sell to save some funds. Till today I don't know if team dumped or excessive mining rewards caused the crash
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO]🔥 E3T Connecting Global Entrepreneurs 🔥 on: November 04, 2019, 06:09:32 PM
I am all into projects providing blockchain solution to entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and IoT because they have high impact on global economy and E3T will be a good one to look out for. I have also gone through the team as well and they appear balanced with good technical know how. So I am impressed
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Extra weeks added to bounty campaign on: November 04, 2019, 05:55:33 PM
Whenever extra weeks are added to the bounty campaign it can mean the following things :

1. The campaign is a success and they want to extend it to more weeks in order to extend the promo of the project

2. ICO's/IEO's is doing great and the marketing team decided to trow another round of coins into the bounty pool

3. They re-calculate the bounty stakes and if they low the rewards they can extend it for a couple of weeks ( this is a shady thing for a bounty to do )

Personally the 1 and 2 are the most usually reasons of why the bounty campaigns get extra weeks and you should enjoy it when it happens.

Good points but I have these to add.

1. The Sales is not going smoothly and they need more marketing from bounty hunters to promote the project further (in some cases, they extend sales as well)

2. The team is just shady, they extend the bounty campaign to delay payment. Sometimes even when the bounty ends, they can still extend distribution date or rather distribute in batchs
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If You Died Tomorrow, What Would Happen To Your Crypto? on: November 04, 2019, 05:42:08 PM
That is the right step, we really should like that tell our families that we have valuable assets
on a smartphone or laptop so that if we die then our family can take our assets. I personally have also told my family about the Crypto assets that I have.

Lol. Apparently no one gives this a thought, out of superstition or just plain oversight. I think it's proper we have a cryptocurrency book or diary where we can write sensitive things which will be stored in a safe place at home or maybe treasure Bank.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover on: November 04, 2019, 05:31:49 PM
You can't judge projects by how they look, what matters is what they are here to fix in crypto space,i introduced a good privacy altcoin to my friends weeks ago and they neglect it because of its look, the name of the project is sero

How can someone judge a project because of its white&black inky look?the fact is sero is just more than its logo looks and its already trading at a very good price 0.33$ i think, while its ICO price was 0.01cent.

My advice to people like my friends is to always put aside how a project looks, either scam looking or not please take your time to investigate before you decide if its good or not. Some projects are more than how they look, remember that not all shinny things are good either, learn to do research on projects not how they look.

I discovered Sero months back because of some of its unique properties such as zero proof technology and its ability to become the first privacy project with smart contract services and thus allows dapps to be built thereon. But now that you highlighted Sero price as one of its key points, I wonder what those who bought at $0.25 after seeing your post would do because its is currently trading at $0.085
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening with ETHEREUM Now? on: November 04, 2019, 05:23:28 PM
ethereum prices have started to improve even though there was no significant increase but it can be said that ethereum is currently experiencing a good price development from before, I am confident that ethereum can reach a price of $ 200 when btc can touch $ 10k.

There's really no significant increase in price and I am not sure there will be anytime soon till they news of Ethereum upgrade breaks through because i believe that is what the cryptocurrency world expects. Nevertheless, I am excited that Ethereum is working hard at improving its blockchain which spells good to its long term investors
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do when a project fails you as abounty hunter or investor on: October 31, 2019, 07:26:26 PM
As an investor or bounty hunter, you have dedicated either your funds or time for a pjoject and it turns out to be a fail project, what next?

Many at times we have come across this situations and I see a lot of negative posts from different bodies about this projects, y? Because people are hurt and have lost precious time and capital.

I suggest that whenever this situations arise, rather than telling the whole world how you messed up, tell yourself never again and pick up your pieces, go back to the drawing board and never repeat 🔂 that same action that lead you to following and supporting a failed / scam project in the first place.

Beware guys!

Basically you do nothing but just move on while saying a little prayer for the few investors you led to the failed project and have most probably lost money. Choosing a bounty project is the hunters perogative but then promoting the right projects should be everyone's concern because the success or failure of any crypto project has a Ripple effect on the market. So, while it can't be controlled 100 percent, I urge bounty hunters to do proper diligence before promoting any project. Bitcointalk does its best to punish bad projects promoters, and I think we all should support them too in our own little way
