you mean the image in post#1? What does that represent? I don't get it.
lol OP was trolling a little bit go and google "pong". I guess it shows my age knowing what that was instantly.

I too am starting to feel a possible breakout. I think we may need to test $250 once more though.
I think the auction winners will make or break this. If they are like Mr Draper and HODL I agree nice break out very soon. If they purchased under spot I think they might dump some. This coming 2 weeks will be very interesting!

That chart is probably the best most relevant thing I have seen here to date!

Issues aside Coinbase is still the safest place to use USD. Would you rather take your chances on places like BTC-e with your coins and cash?

The only crypto worth holding is only bitcoin.
Correct. My advice will also to be holding Bitcoin only, especially the Litecoin have been controlled by Chinese, this coin is old and backward anyway. There are few altcoins having a look as well, although I agree that 99% of altcoins are just very speculative short-term projects. I would recommend checking the altcoin section - especially the topics with at least 500 pages. Good luck with checking that section it is a disaster over there.

I think until Bitcoin really takes off that alts are too early to the game. Why would anyone care about them when Bitcoin is not yet mainstream? Litecoin is boring, but solid trade wise, and the rest are quite useless to date. The new features some have really provide nothing if no one uses the currency.

Thank you the reason Im asking is that i bought a used miner and wanted to see if I got scammed. Thank you for all the help. It looks ok all the chips are working
If it were me I would try loading the latest firmware from Bitmain's website. What speed is the miner getting poolside and via the web interface?
I do not have a large amount of hash power on the pool yet, but I am so far happy with payments. Any chances of more free miners being given away in the future? I think I would be willing to rent some for the chance of a free miner.
Also - Block #173 was the fastest block to date?

Does anyone know what the IPO price was when AM started up? Not sure why, but I am considering buying some shares. I remember I almost bought some around 2 BTC each a year back.
Are you reading around here to know what's going on with AM lately? If not, here is a short version, without going into rumors of what might have happened: mining to known addresses stoped, office emptied, friedcat missing, no contact from him for 40 days. Still in the mood on buying? Well now that I have caught up on the situation the answer is pretty simple `Nope~. Thank you for the replies though, but I am still in shock that this has happened. Who are we left to trust any longer?
Now as FriedCat is missing with more than a million dollar, can we expect CanaryInTheMine to be removed from DefaultTrust ? FriedCat is still seating happily in Canary's trust list. Or this time also Canary will get away just by removing him from the trust list like it happened for Mabshark ? Well for starters, it is 100% certain that FC should be removed from CITM's list. Period. I would say that CITM was effectively endorsing FC and ASICminer via his group buys so he should at least partially be held accountable for what happened, he probably shouldn't have to repay ~$1 million+ in stolen property but this should be a very black mark on his reputation. I agree on the removal of FriedCat from anyone's lists until whatever is going on gets cleared up. I am lost on how he is to blame for that company being scammers though? He can not help that they did any of this.

I would just a reset via the reset button..set it back to defaults.
Is there a way to test for failed chips on the miner?
asic stats page shows which chips are working/not working/missing (o, x, - respectively) beyond that, no. Exactly this method. Under "ASIC status" you will see ooooooo (those mean chips are fine) If you see any xxxxx (those are dead chips) - sometimes a restart fixes that.

Have you confirmed your identity to them and followed the step to verify? I know that they have canceled orders in the past when the prices have moved wildly. I have been using them for several months and never had orders canceled.

If the S2 upgrades are like the S1 -> S3 upgrades I will be disappointed. I really love the idea of upgrading a miner, but Bitmain will charge too much for it to be worth it again. I hope that they come out with the S6 and avoid upgrades unless they are fairly priced.
OP did you get this miner fully working now? Let me know if you need any other suggestions.
They are not much organized. So there is nothing to fear. But I am sure that a lot of mining operations will cease to exist if the exchange rate doesn't go above $400 in the next few months.
Some areas where these "mega" farms are have power as cheap as 2 cents. Bitcoin can drop in price under $200 and they still make a profit. Unfortunately the USA for the most part has more expensive power + the added shipping costs of the miners from China.

Glad I got out of GAW a few months back before this PayCoin scam. They might be scamming now, but I actually did pretty well before it started. I am not surprised that people still support him the community is pretty solid over there.
Maybe 2-3 cents, but nothing lower in the USA. I would guess they have a deal where delivery is heavily discounted and they are paying for raw power + some small % (consumption based). I think some of the cheapest power in the world is still 2 cents delivered.
