What's the shipping method behind "free shipping"? Was there an option for express shipping before this "UPS Express Saver" option?
It's UPS Standard shipping. There was no express shipping option before.

I'll go looking for some 120mm fans now to fire up full steam all 16 boards.

Spiccioli, I'll know if I ship rev 2 M-boards after I hook up all the 4 buses Wink I'll need the fans for that.

Good news everyone!

Just got batch of 20 boards from the factory and tested them. They work perfectly! We're still on schedule! Smiley

Awesome! When will the boards be most likely shipping to customers?

I've made arrangements to have them shipped in multiple batches, and I should have first batch in Finland on this friday unless there's some SNAFU with shipping. Then this weekend we figure out best practice for packaging and test them. Then I still need to have software finalized (should have releasable version of v1 by friday), copy linux image to SD cards, create instructions for installation, pack & ship. So I would say shipping starts next week as scheduled. If all goes smooth, I'll have all shipped by friday.

punin I sent email but had no reponse from asking questions relating shipping etc and payments and making orders.

Do you have any detials of when can place an order and any eta on shipping and is their way to expedite hipping t faster services.

You can place order anytime.
Your order will be shipped when it's place in queue is reached. Probably late october if your order now.
There is UPS Express shipping option on checkout page.

The october 400gh kit was 7500euro,  but now it is 6500euro, will punin make refunds to who bought them with 7500euro?
People getting late october orders will be missing out on approx. 4000€ in mining revenue. I think a 1000€ price-break is more than justified.
248  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: August 20, 2013, 10:37:40 AM
these chips are for immediate delivery vs. october....but yes the price is still high, but that's the cost for development. it would be nice to get the price for october prices too. it's difficult to produce hardware without knowing what chip prices will be in the future. originally it was ~$25USD/chip (from the US store) for loose chips and $20/chip for counts of 3K.

one more thing...the card you buy from bfsb and megabig are downclocked to perform at 1.5GH/s. If you buy chips for your own hardware, you can potentially push them to 2.7-3.0 GH/s.

Chip prices will only go down with time..

We will be revising our bulk pricing in a few weeks. I believe that this will coincide with another big announcement, that will make planning your own production with our chips much easier.

Some people tend to make their purchase decision based on price, others on something else. We have a working product that is over 5 times more efficient than anything that has been proven to exist. We didn't collect preorders before we had this working product. This is how we choose to work, and we hope that our style will be appealing for a large enough amount of customers and developers, so that they will choose to go with us.

Our bulk pricing is still competitive, but not the cheapest for sure. At least you're paying for existing product with proven specs. Smiley And we have a self-imposed punishment for missing delivery dates (price drops if we're late + option to cancel). So please choose with whom you want to work with. We will always be happy to serve you.

Update

I've added option for UPS Express Saver shipping, and dropped the prices a bit as further october orders will most likely ship in very late october. Those who picked first october orders are likely to receive theirs in very early october, if not september.

Regarding invoices: there was a problem on the site. I will need to send invoices manually. You will get an invoice, don't worry.

I need to sleep now. Shanghai awaits tomorrow. I should have more news for you in about 30 hours.
250  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: August 19, 2013, 11:52:44 AM

Any news for the august orders (StarterKit & Full Miner)?
Estimated delivery date?
What steps are still open to achieve for bitfury for a successful delivery of the august orders?

.-)

- Latest news is I'm going to China tomorrow to test the H-board produced on the 2nd assembly line. I'll be back on friday, so don't be surprised if I'm a bit hard to reach.
- Currently I expect to start shipping next week.
- We need to get the H-boards, attach them to M-boards, run tests, pack in boxes, ship.

The fab managed to lose some of the silkscreen (printed graphics on board) unfortunately. There was supposed to be a text "ATTENTION!! Read instructions before assembly!" Now it's just "ATTENTION!!" Sad. And also, just by the PCIe power connectors there was a text "Please use both 12V connectors & PCI polarity" which got truncated to "Please use both". There was a small tribute to Satoshi also, which got truncated. Mental note: Do not use text with multiple lines.

So you are saying the PCIe power sockets were
wired correctly on the board? I was not entirely
sure about the pinout...Wink

intron
Grin Grin Grin We will see when I get the H-board. Maybe it will hash backwards and find Satoshi?
252  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: August 18, 2013, 05:41:02 AM
When shopping for a PC power supply, don't look at the total power, but check the manual for the power that's available on the +12V wires. It is usually less. Also, when have a multi-voltage supply, like a regular PC PSU, and you only draw power from the 12V, the voltage may drop more than in an application where the 5V and 3.3V is also loaded. The H-CARDs don't mind if the voltage drops a bit, but you'll get increased current, and this stresses the PSU even more.

so which PSU can You recommend?

wanna be prepared before miners arrives Smiley
Well any PSU really that has 400W on 12V rail (to have some overhead), has 2 6-pin PCIe molex connectors, over 80% efficiency (gold or platinum).

High efficiency PSU supports high efficiency of the chip, modularity is a plus also, and not required, but helps to keep that classic ATX wire-mess away.

If you have several units on order, I think you should consider one of the bigger PSUs, so you can have 1 PSU supporting several units. I use OCZ 1250 ZX myself.

Also note: if you are going to use Foofighters case, the maximum depth dimension of your PSU should be no more than 185mm. (This should cover ~99% of what's out there on the market, 1250W OCZ ZX is 175mm deep).

Quick update:

Good news everyone! Got the M-board v2.2 today! Bloody thing seems to work! (at least it powers up RasPi and feeds fans correctly). I still need some H-boards for final test though.

I'm going to China next week to check our 2nd production line for H-boards, and before that I'll try prepare as much as I can for testing and sending these beasts out to you.

Got some other goodies for you as well.. As you may already know, Foofighter has been working on a case for our miner for quite some time. We have pretty much finalized the design now, and I'm waiting for a quote from a few local metalworks companies. I'm really happy with how it looks, and it should help you get best results from the boards. It could be that we get them manufactured just in time, so that for those of you who want a case, you'll be able to add one to the kit and have it all shipped together. Price is still TBD, as I have no quote from the metalworks yet.

I'll finish it off with some pics:

Punin can you tell me if this psu will work http://www.scan.co.uk/products/750w-be-quiet!-dark-power-pro-10-bn202-93-eff-80-plus-gold-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-fan-atx-v231-psu
Looks good to me! Possibly enough power for 2 actually!
255  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: August 14, 2013, 04:57:18 PM
Punin, I noticed that you are no longer selling raw chips, is that going to change or you'll stick to selling equipment only?
We will resume chip sales soon.

Will the chip-preorders that were made while they were on sale be honored, or will the purchasers be redirected to other products or a refund?
They will be honored. Chip sales will resume as early as later this week.
256  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: August 14, 2013, 04:56:22 PM

As for chips and availability - I'll repost here something that I posted on another forum:

Also - according to google translate this:
Кстати, доля bitfury-чипов в сети довольно маленькая и последнее увеличение сложности это чьи-то чужие мощности.

У Лешека проблемы с платами, а как видно по ghash.io у Bitfury тоже пока всё не скоро делается (хотя и быстрее остальных).
Американцы и европейцы получат чипы только со следующего батча.
Мы сегодня запустили платы в серию, к концу августа планируем отгружать в порядке очереди.
supposedly says that chips for EU and US will be available only from the next batch (...)

So, if that's true I'd like to hear from punin or Dave or anyone else in-the-know where things stand. I'm looking for a reasonable expectation. If the sad facts are that there won't be any chips before December - so be it, that's the facts. I'd rather know the ugly truth than have false hopes.

This has been somehow taken out of context, and is not true. I have no time to go into investigating this more. We have all the chips that we need for august orders, and october chips are in production.

Update

Guys - Les received the boards today and ... they have a problem. The fab dropped 2 of our layers, producing a 2-layer PCB (no internal interconnects).  We identified the problem immediately, got it fixed, and the fab is now expediting new PCBs on a 5-day turn.  We are seeking to expedite each additional step this is going to take, but we *will* lose 3 - 5 days here (and 10's of thousands of $$$)

Steps we are taking:
-2-day turn verification rig in production now
-send a team member to China to in-person test this rig
-expedite all stages of PCB production, assembly & delivery

Since we will be right up against our retail delivery timeframe, we are going to have to use the boards for filling retail product.  Due to this, Tytus has announced an increased hashrate supply to our investors of 200TH total, to be deployed in the next two months cumulatively (not all at once at the end).

We are as upset at the delay/fakap as you are I'm sure.  This is one of the side affects of pushing such a fast track project, but we are making it right.  Believe me we want this stuff hashing as much as anyone and we are pulling out all the stops to get it done.

The pico status report can be seen here: https://picostocks.com/docs/index/19

As you can see, we've hit a setback unfortunately. Luckily we identified this in time (before all chips were soldered to non-working boards). It'll take ~2 days to produce the boards, but up to 5 days to ship them to europe, so I might be going to China to test them on location to save time. We might find someone locally to do this also, but if I go there I'll be able to take some pics for you. I sincerely apologize for this delay. We're working hard to keep the delay to minimum.
259  Economy / Securities / Re: [PicoStocks] 100TH/s bitcoin mine [100th] on: August 12, 2013, 09:12:36 PM
Since 100TH should be the first mining operation using Bitfury chips so https://ghash.io/ should by that logic be 100TH mining. Can we get confirmation?
And why should it be the first one?

 (outside of Russia at least)

Now you're talking Smiley GHASH.io is a CIS operation.
