NEW REV2 CHIPS HAVE ARRIVED!!

NOTE: THIS IS AN ENGINEERING BATCH. PLEASE DON'T HOARD. 32 CHIPS MAX PER CUSTOMER.
Please don't send PM requests for samples. Samples are available through the web shop.

Chips are pin compatible with the previous version. Expect better performance and lower power consumption. We are currently testing the chip ourselves, so exact performance is still unknown. Please share your experiences and measurements in this thread!!!

Pricing is TBD, but will be lower than the engineering samples price.

The new bitfury chip will have the same pinout?
Our rev2 55nm chip is in the same 7mm punch-type QFN48 package with identical pinout to the rev1 55nm (summer 2013).

There will be improvement in Ghash/s?

Yes. Our preliminary tests show 25% increase in hashrate and 25% lower power consumption. We will receive new chips tomorrow and will have samples available to developers.

Do you plan sell bare chips ?

Yes, but this engineering batch will not be sold in big quantities. It's for evaluation purposes.

USB sticks, v3 M-boards and H-cards with heatsinks are now in the shop!
87  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: January 18, 2014, 06:13:02 PM
Actual board price (250E for 25GH) are very overpriced and don't ever make ROI.

You dont have also BFSB M-Board on stock, so how join boards toghether?

And this note: "all chips are not guaranteed to work" - 2 of them would work, 14 not and this is OK, beceause  "all chips are not guaranteed to work"Huh You don't cares about customers.

actually, a board is 850 EUR, not 250 EUR, thats the old price  Wink

Check the webshop Rammy Smiley

Happy New Year 2014!

I have been extremely busy and on vacation and hence it's been mighty quiet here. We just got old-style H-cards back in stock, so I reopen sales. More to follow together with a longer report!

Punin you do a great work.
I don't blame you or your team. ("don't shoot the messenger")

But we all know what happen to some hardware/chips seller when they become to greedy or not fair...
Asicminer, Avalon...? no ? anyone...?

And with all the new company all around (HashFast and cointerra are really real...)
What i see clearly know...is : We have funded the Tytus mine.

Now he doesn't need us anymore...and sell the hardware at overpriced price.

Punin, you can sell any other hardware, i follow you and buy from you because you do a really really great work..

But right now, i blaklist Bitfury.
Don't blacklist bitfury, he has nothing to do with this mess. I will try to negotiate something so that my customers will be happy. Perhaps old H-cards can be sold at a discounted price.

1. I don't set the price so please stop calling me greedy. You guys don't seem to realize what I've gone through to deliver you machines on time that made you ROI a long time ago. I've worked my ass off since july to make this happen. It makes me sad that it's all so quickly forgotten due to the exact thing you're now accusing me of.

2. Before you start calling people greedy, think what would you do in Tytus's place. He has hardware than makes shitloads of money for him. Would you sell your miner even to your friend who really-really wants to start mining at the price you paid in september? All of you have made ROI with our hardware. Now you want MOAR. And you want even faster ROI and MOARMOARMOAR. There's a name for this kind of mentality Wink

3. The primary reason why we don't have hardware to sell is the shortage of chips. Not too long ago people were complaining 15€ per chip is too expensive and that our hardware is too expensive. This sends a signal to manufacturer that there's no market for the product. This is why we didn't do large volume production, but only produced enough for Tytus's mine which is based on the new H-card, so no chips were left for old H-cards.

1.  I call it how I see it.  You guys are setting prices so they will never ROI in Bitcoins or it will take a very, very long time.   Prices on h-cards have been pumped up by over 232% for relatively the same performance.  The only other people who have tried this scheme are Avalon and Asicminer and they are now failing in the consumer market.    You say ROI in hardware has been made, this is only true in the sense of cash value, however its a negative loss in Bitcoins at the time.
And I corrected you. This is not my hardware. These are not my chips. I cannot sell them for less than what I need to pay for them. People are sending me 100 e-mails per day asking for hardware so I pressured Tytus to release some of the units we were going to be using in the mine. I asked him what the price was and this was the number I got.

Quote
2.   I look at Tytus's place, the view of greed seems to have increased.  Not long ago people were complaining your hardware was expensive, and yes...it still is.  You want to talk about us wishing we have more hardware...well yeah...DUH...we want more hardware...why would I buy 5 starter kits?  I was hoping to populate at least 1 kit.  I am willing to pay a fair price.  Right now paying 1 bitcoin  or 850 euros or $1162 USD tells me that you guys are being more greedy than us and frankly the rest of the asic hardware market.
Again, stop saying "you guys". I'm not the one who sets the price. You're insulting me when you accuse me of this. Tytus has increased picostocks 100TH mine to 500TH, what do you think of that?

Quote
3.  Excuses are like assholes, everyone has them and they all stink.  This applies to 1, 2, and 3..   I've offered to setup chip packaging services with sales representatives at my company.  Right now we are the #2 Chip packager in the world.   Buzzdave seemed interested, however Tytus said no.  Ignore help, quicker delivery and cost savings at your own peril.

PM me about packaging.
Quote
4.    If you guys stay on this trend.  More and more people will start to share my sentiment.  Confidence in bitfury products will decrease.
I share your concern. This is not the way I wanted it to go either, but I'm not the boss and do not set the rules. Hopefully in the future I will have the possibility to offer BTC ROI guarantee on my products.

1. I don't set the price so please stop calling me greedy. You guys don't seem to realize what I've gone through to deliver you machines on time that made you ROI a long time ago.

I spent 246.79 btc on an Aug rig. You're insane if you think I've mined that much since then.

Your sig says "buy and hold". Did you type that before or after you paid 246.79 BTC for an august rig?
93  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: December 06, 2013, 05:48:26 PM
If you understand this and realize that hardware will ROI only, when btc price rises, then you must accept that this hardware is just stupid to buy. This is why punin's statement, that everyone got ROI is not accurate.

Those who bought our september-october units for ~6500€ are still making over 200€ per day in BTC. Please explain your math.
94  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: December 06, 2013, 03:27:38 PM
punin: I quickly searched for past few pages, but the word "greed" is not on any of them. So, we don't consider you greedy, or at least nobody is calling you that. So relax. I for one thank you for your past efforts and wish you the best in your future endeavors. I think that people are just sad that the ship of instant profit has sailed and will not return anytime soon.

It is very sad that Tytus, Punin and Buzzdave have become so greedy that we cannot populate our starter kits without significantly more financial contribution.

Hello People,

I have been extremely busy building a mine for tytus while waiting for the heatsinks and I'm getting extremely tired and exhausted. All my staff left on vacation a week ago and I'm pretty much alone handling everything from tuning cards, building rigs, screwing power supplies, flashing SD cards, dealing with phone calls, ordering stuff, organizing chip production etc etc etc. I desperately need a vacation and I'm going to have one on 17.12.-2.1.

Unfortunately no old H-cards are currently available for sale (I've been requesting them for over a month now, but I still have nothing but some crappy boards that need spare parts or soldering). I know I will get the old H-cards at some point, but 'when' is the question I have no answer for. (I'm not the manufacturer)

Some good news: I've managed to hire some people that will start on monday and I plan to reopen sales for the new boards! It'll take a few days to do the training so they can test and pack and ship, but after that I hope we will be able to ship some gear. So I expect to open the shop a week from now or so.

Bad news is that the price is much higher. New H-cards will sell for 850€ a piece + VAT. Please don't blame me for the prices as I'm not the one who sets them.

All orders ship via free express shipping in 48 hours.

These power cables are only intended to carry 75w each, while 8 pin connectors can carry 150w each.
This is PCIe spec, not molex.
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury 400G FIRE Hazard (pics) on: November 25, 2013, 08:53:55 PM
We've had this incident once (happened overnight) with a rig that had both cables plugged. How well they were plugged, that's another question. The Molex Mini-Fit Jr is an ok connector and should handle 13A on each circuit, but sometimes it doesn't connect properly and you get arcing and overheating. And sometimes PSU manufacturer saved by using thinner cable Tongue

What if I said I have a PSU that can deliver 3kW at a price of ~400€ and ~90% efficiency? Smiley

Actually, I'd like some comments from you...

- Would you like a USB miner or are you happy with standalone RasPi controlled unit?
- Do you feel modular design is important, or would you prefer a nice tidy box?
- What about form factor: free or rack?
- What dB level are you comfortable with?
- Internal custom PSU or ATX?
