Anyone care to explain what masterluc's long term view was?

482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Netcode/Netcash?] Name poll for AnonyMint's upcoming coin? on: November 07, 2015, 08:52:08 PM
Makes me sad to see you're still brainstorming names, just like you were with me and a few others in April 2014. Like I said then use your energy to complete the damn coin instead of waisting so much time on names which tbh probably aren't so important in the end anyway.
483  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2015, 05:04:05 PM
up?

Of course. Smiley  I was thinking that maybe some of the people that are bidding on the auction this morning will wait until it is over to buy more and that might start our next little rally (or big rally hopefully) after 18:00 UTC which is in an hour and a half.

so bidders are bidding, probably a good turn out this time since it's the last one. not as many coins this time too. which means more losers, which means more buying pressure after the auction, we should be at 520 tomorrow when the winners are announced, no reason we should let the losers buy coins for anything less. then to the moon because, no more 50K BTC auction every couple months = that much more buying pressure on the exchange. and where does the selling preusser come from, judging by recent market movements ( CCMF style run up ) bears are flat out of coin, and it's up to bulls like me to try and determine what is to "high too fast" (like i did last night, when i sold and bought lower )... if bulls are the only sellers left.... we're going to the moon, if we're going to the moon we might as well plan a trip to mars, call obama, it's time.

Nice theory but the auctioned coins are not much compared to the newly mined coins (about 3600coins/day). How often have they auctioned coins? Three times per year? You do the math..
484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: November 04, 2015, 07:23:42 AM
Market is so overbought that there is not much bids left... Yet China continues buying.

chinese household holdings (20 trillion usd) + capital controls = do the math (if only 1% trickles down into bitcoin)

Pretty much this. TA doesn't necessarily work well with small cap papers. When it comes to bitcoin a mcap of 6 billion is absolutely nothing when you look at the potential as a disruptive currency.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 15, 2015, 10:21:34 AM
Yes, it is a disappointing slide in price, but you either believe that the world gives up on the most advanced money it has ever seen - or only one thing can happen.

We are in the first valley of adoption where the technology exists and now there is just a race to make it user friendly and create more use-cases for it.

Myself?  I too feel fatigued by the slow decline of Monero price, and frustratedly eye all the rallys (pumps) the other coins are having so I know exactly what that means: buy Monero.  Your emotions are about the best reverse indicators of how to make money.  When you are depressed and frustrated with the price action of an asset, that is the time of best opportunity.  (Remember that no one knows the bottom, and the bottom never feels like the bottom; when bitcoin was flirting with $210 earlier this year and I bought the bulk of my coins it felt like there was a lot further that we could fall). When you are exuberant, that is the time for a reality check.  No one ever knows the peak either, and it always seems like there's so much more to go.

I'll be adding modest chunks to my position over the next 30 to 60 days, just as soon as some checks clear.  Smiley

Think it's important to add that one shouldn't get married to ones investments. Seriously feels like a lot of people here have a pretty solid marriage to xmr. Also trying to catch a falling knife is usually not the best investment strategy.

Yes xmr may be the best money the world has seen but the risk of total ruin is still extreme. Invest accordingly.

i've noticed that too. But it seems to change. At time both are correlated, at time, inversely correlated.

He is saying that the two are now inversely correlated.

The chart showed they are highly correlated. It showed their prices always return to agreement. Short-term opposite moves are negated and they move back into sync in their mutual downtrend.

Exactly!

They are certainly correlated and a dip down for gold should bring btc along for the ride. Eventually though btc should break lose and head its own show since golds role is fading more and more. Of course this could take years. There is also the possibility of btc failing and that would also break the correlation. But for now pretty much in sync with each others moves.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: July 30, 2015, 06:49:56 PM

I haven't seen armstrong write on crypto, cheers. Not much content in it- but at least a peek into Armstrong's opinions on them.

He has been pretty clear about his negative opinion on bitcoin. On the other hand he says we're headed to electronic money fast. Not sure how he feels these don't match but I think it's partly due to the fact governments will never allow a form of currency that they don't control. He also doesn't seem to understand the point of an anonymous crypto and how powerful it could be. Maybe Anonymint can elaborate.

Gold target 500$. Worst case scenario 300$.
If BTC decouples it will go at least 2000$.
If not targets are about 100$ and 50$ respectively.

Gold and BTC were moving in the past both in parallel and anti parallel. Interesting to see where this will go!

What's your time frame for gold and btc bottom? October isn't far away if they will coincide with Armstrong/anonymint predictions. Either we some serious **** take place soon or the bottom will be later imo.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 20, 2015, 12:13:26 AM
Today the general meeting of a certain Finnish company that already owns about 1% of XMR outstanding, has decided to refocus the company's mission to be a Monero fund, with the objective of converting its BTC holdings to XMR, and issuing shares to select parties and use the proceeds to acquire more XMR.

I don't understand why you make this information public. The smart thing to do would be to accumulate and then make it public.

Well he already said the company won't be buying from the exchanges. Now who might own enough XMR and be someone the company already knows and trusts enough to do deals with. It's a good way for someone to sell at spot prices more than could be sold on the illiquid Poloniex markets. And now try to think who is the one that would profit from the announcement in that equation.

If the price on the exchanges increases so will the price OTC as well.

Are you implying rpietila would be the seller and therefore benefit from an increase in price?

Sounds like they have accumulated a substantial amount already.

Sounds like they want much more

I will delete this post. This is perhaps my last FYI to try to help the fools here.

The catalysts. Some years ago I independently happenstanced on (discovered) Martin Armstrong's 78.9 (79) year cycle of real estate (which I also correlated to technological unemployment cycles). So when I later discovered Armstrong's cycle models and that he had back tested them to the Athenian empire and before (even as far back as Mesopotamia), I'm keen to accept that such a cycle does exist. Armstrong is the largest hedge fund manager in history, formerly managing $3 trillion in Japanese sovereign funds before he got unintentionally entangled in the USA bankster's involved in the LTCM and Russian bonds scam via Republic bank which involved some of the funds he was managing. It is with this wealth that he compiled the massive $billion (in today's money) historical economics and natural phenomenon database that enable his supercomputer system to correlate and find these patterns and repeating cycles.

It is with this system that he has been accurately predicting everything since the 1980s without fail. In fact, I have predicted the past 4 major moves in the Bitcoin price employing his model, including my recent prediction in May that BTC would rise to $315 in June and July, then crash back down to below $150 for the Octoberish bottom.

This is it folks. Cash is king. Get out while you still can. This may be my last warning.

Your prediction will be wrong.

And I think his prediction will be correct. Anonymint has pin pointed the last 2 years or so of bitcoin movement better than anyone I know on this forum. With his help I sold before the dip to $150 and re-bought and sold again yesterday at $315. I think he should get much more credit. His macro economic predictions are probably also going to be correct. On the basis of Armstrongs models (who has been consistently correct for decades) I think it is very likely we have some very dark times ahead.

I think making expected value calculations on investments in general is a good thing but when it comes to very uncertain investment vehicles assigning probabilities to different scenarios is just like grabbing numbers out of your ass. It's important to remember that it's very probable of risk or ruin but the above scenarios really say nothing to me.

Larry Summers once again.  That means he's now an advisor to both Xapo and 21.

"This could mean we soon see many billions of people sending bitcoin everyday as easily as they currently send a text message.”

Summers is even more bullish than anyone here
