the conclusion on this count ie after wave 5 may be right, but the count is wrong IMO on some aspects

Like what is decribed as a a wave '3' is actually a wave '5' after a wave 3 impulsive wave that corrected in a wave '4' triangle corrective pattern

like this one

Me too!
I also saw it on tradingview.
It looks like the bullish momentum is broken for now, we moved out of the zone in the second chart.
Consolidation or a downmove is coming next.
Really nice chart, simply beautifull

Problem as drawn and counted is impulse wave 3 of a five wave move up can not be shorter than wave 5 according to strict EW theory. If you look at a weekly chart on Bitstamp and try not to force an EW count it is more likely that we finished Wave 3 at the ATH with wave 5 still to come. That means we are probably in an extended Wave 4 correction. That count would put a hard bottom on the correction at the top of Wave 1 which I put at $779. The exuberance that accompanied the ATH would fit with what is normally seen with a Wave 3 top.

How high would the coming wave 5 be? What happens after that wave 5? A new count?

In support of Anonymint. Yes people all over the bitcoin sphere do follow him. He isn't liek you or me. He actually knows his shit better than almost anyone in the entire community. Give him some respect.

You've analysed this perfectly bugs me to see you throwing in the towel at this hour.

Sell high, buy low. Less drama.

LTC is high. ETH is low. Really is a no brainer. Then I don't need to stare at Poloniex at the time.

lol you are rather skittish, then again i've held all along (tis my reserve for many years) so yeah i'm loooooong with no intention of selling, tis not about the fiat.

If you are holding long-term, that is a different position than mine.

I am not at all interested in off chain scaling for centralized hubs and private fractional reserve banking.

I was only in it for the pump. And to remove the scaling war which was messing with Bitcoin (since for the time being I want to hold my reserve cash in BTC).

ETH is still about 3x higher than it was a little bit more than a month ago. It's in a broken bubble imo. I'd rather hold LTC at this point in time.

Anyway well played. Knew you were good at speculating in price on a little bit longer time frame. This thread showed you were superb also on a very short time frame.

You are giving up to soon. Giving in to the fear. Just buy an amount of LTC that you feel content with. Enough so you don't feel greed and not too much so you don't feel fear. It's all about these 2 emotions. If you were like you said All in LTC earlier today that's WAY to much and of course that will lead to bad decissions driven by fear.

bitcoin seems to hitting a local top here that together with the LTC Segwit situations makes LTC a great buy atm imo. (I hold ltc but only small amount if you look to my net worth.)

Fuck all of them. I don't need their manipulation. Money is not the most important need we have in this life.

Of course not but it's still important in that it gives us freedom to do what we want. In your case coding your bitcoin killer.

You've analysed this perfectly bugs me to see you throwing in the towel at this hour.

hm.... Even if he is or isn't Satoshi Nakamoto, I think that people should stop searching for him like he's a bigfoot or something. If the guy want's to remain anonymous, leave him be. :/

That's not the point. More interesting reading about ideal money and the relationship to bitcoin. I don't care about Satoshi. I do care about bitcoin and the ideas behind it.

Some good thoughts and links in this article concerning Nash, Ideal Money and Bitcoin

https://thewealthofchips.wordpress.com/2015/05/07/the-levation-of-ideal-money/

Interesting..

"Nash suggested we are to link our currency system to the ICPI. This often leaves people wondering, if bitcoin is ideal money then where is the commodity basket to link bitcoin to? OR how do we link the currency bitcoin to an ideal commodity basket? But as Szabo explains extensively gold or oil themselves CAN in fact function like perfect currencies even though they are in fact commodities. In this light bitcoin starts to make perfect sense. It is a commodity in the sense that it is the perfect currency, based on an ideal printing/mining schedule constructed from a properly adjusted aggregate of commodities. It also has the benefit of super granularity of today’s paper currency and more. If the authors conjecture is true, Bitcoins are backed by the ICPI based schedule, and so always have the ideal quality that John Nash prescribed to them. (The process ideally backed money creates is referred to as asymptotically Ideal Money whereas the limiting result is Ideal Money)"

They Found Satoshi?

If it is a question then it should be - Do they found Satoshi ?

No.

If it's a question it should be.

DID they FIND Satoshi?

You're welcome.

I was expecting we might have to have a large dip in the price in order to shock miners into switching pools:

https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/850048867160662016

I think also these Chinese are manipulating the market.

I didn't sell any LTC.

What do you guys think?

I think it's incredibly difficult to speculate in these volatile markets on so short time frames. I doubt it's +EV. Much prefer your stance of picking a spot that feels fundamentally in your favour and perhaps adding in some TA but on a longer time frame. At least that's basically only what's made me money trading in crypto last 4 years or so.

Trading on short time frames lets the feelings come into motion so much more. Greed vs Fear. It often just results in buying back into your position higher or selling lower.

A good measurment for me is to never be over exposed in such a way that you feel uncomfortable not looking at the price for a while. Then at least I feel to much fear and end up making bad calls.

I posit a reason that Bitmain's surrogate pools will stop blocking SegWit on Litecoin soon.

If you read the entire linked thread, you will catch up on a lot of the details as to why I am nearly certain Bitcoin is going to remain small blocks and never get scaling.

as Satoshi (aka Nash) intended its equilibrium game theory to be a clusterfuck of politics insuring the immutability of the protocol which is what gives Bitcoin its trust and value.

What did I miss?

Nash?

I can't continue providing links to every thing I write all over the place. But one more time, go read this thread and also this post.

Thanks, found this:

I sold 40% of my LTC at a profit and traded back into ETH which is on significant dip. Again my thesis is Bitcoin is locked into a range below $1150ish (maybe $1200) for the time being so the wave will rotate back to ETH next. Then once ETH gets news such as the Raiden LN clone, then ETH will make a huge jump.

Waiting for more clarity on LTC. The hornet's nest of dissonance and manipulation per my prior post makes me think the rise in LTC may be quite volatile. I'll wait for clarity and potentially a better entry price. If it runs away from me, I still have a significant holding.

Apologies for the noise. I decided to reverse this trade. I see that LTC has a wedge pattern that is rapidly closing so it should breakout to the upside. Also on study of the ETH chart, I don't like the current pattern. Its very difficult to determine at what level the firm support is for ETH.

I need to ignore the discouraging discussion with the redditards and stay focused on the economics of what I had discovered.

That cost me ~$250. Fuck.

Lesson learned. Don't waste time talking to Redditards.

Thanks for posting your ideas and trades. Appreciated.

Seems to me LTC is the go to alt for the moment. ETH had it's pump for this time.

Also I can say I've followed Anonymint since 2013 and his price predictions are some of the best here imo.

Hi, Could you give any more references/info about your third point?

What does mean they submitted to a questionnaire? Could you withdraw at the end?

If not, could you at least withdraw your BTC?

Thx

Yes, they asked me a list of questions about how I came in possession of my coins. I answered, and then they performed the money wire that I requested, but warned me that they could ask me even more questions in the future. If you do a search here about Bitstamp you will see that it happened to many others.

Since I had just sold and asked a wire I guess that if I did not answer they would have forced me to buy back btc and withdraw that. I did not hear that they scammed anyone up to now, but still this AML paranoia together with the blockchain risks to kill bitcoin fungibility.

Happened to me as well last week. Totally normal KYC procedure imo. I'm not worried.

416  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 19, 2017, 06:17:13 PM
Yes we can give bitcoin time to grow and develop but the big risk is that an altcoin with better tech takes over and shoots bitcoin down to myspace status of cryptos. And tbh that's what we are already witnessing. Yes it's an alt pump but it will continue if bitcoin doesn't get its shit together.
417  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 19, 2017, 03:58:29 PM
I sold 54 coins... about half of my stash. I don't feel good about it at all guys  Embarrassed  Cry

I really want this BU mess to be over with, but at the moment there's too much uncertainty and lots of panic (not from me, but others). Some people are "voting" for segwit by dumping their coins hoping to punish the miners (Jihan Wu) into supporting segwit.

I want my bitcoins back.....  Cry Cry Cry

Sounds to me like you actually did panic
418  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 16, 2017, 09:14:57 PM
Wow. I just got home and I see we're in the middle of a shitshow.

Someone's obviously spending a lot of money to try to start a panic. It seems to be driven by Finex. An attempt to margin call?

Margin trading is a way for brokerages, exchanges, etc. to shake down the rubes. A classic example was last Friday with the flash spike to an ATH in the morning, margin calling many shorts, followed by the flash crash down under $1000 after the ETF decision, margin calling many longs.

Those prudent enough to have appropriately placed bids and asks could have sold for over $1300 in the AM and bought for under $1000 in the  PM and made a tidy profit. Margin trading is for suckers.

When the price dipped down under $1150 a few minutes ago, it was close to what I'd consider a buyable dip. Now it's creeping back up a little but I'll keep a close eye on the price and carry enough cash to run out and buy some more.

I never got the bucks I was expecting on Sunday but have been emphatically assured I'll get my money on Monday after a 5-banking-day hold is lifted. I think I can spare enough to buy a half a coin without leaving myself too cash strapped over the weekend. Half a coin is better than no coins at all.

Let's see how this little dip pans out. I've got until midnight (4:00AM UTC) to decide.

Oops. We seem to be going down again. How low do we go?

Save your money. Sounds like you are close to all in. Not good
419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: March 14, 2017, 10:36:12 AM
Afrikoin, you think that a hard fork will happen anytime soon?
Will we get a warning before just like ETF so we prepare to get our funds out?
If I were you, would you cash out at $1290-1300?

sell now.
you should have sold last week

IMho

Ι hope you don't joke, because I am a vivid follower of yours and I am following you with blind eyes.

Never sell all. Like Vinny says have a core position you never touch.
420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2017, 11:20:00 PM
The FED's going to raise the rate on Wednesday. That should compensate for the ETF rejection and stabilise Bitcoin's price.

That's already known by the market so already in the price
