181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between token and Coin? on: August 11, 2018, 10:29:33 PM
Just a little I know on this one. Tokens are projects that do not on their own have a blockchain and might need to rely on the blockchain of another. So while coins have their own blockchain, tokens do not. I think this is basically it, or hopefully, someone gives a better reply than I already have, or you source for information somewhere else.

This is the correct answer. Coins are native fuel to their own blockchain. Tokens are orchestrated upon existing blockchains. BTC, LTC, ETH, BCH, XRP etc. etc. are coins. Tron, Augur, Binance Coin, and so on are tokens.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Mass migration of Chinese crypto miners on: August 11, 2018, 10:27:08 PM
This is a very interesting actuality. The article states that these Chinese miners are often relocating to third world and developing countries (likely due to lax regulation and cheap energy). I wonder if this will have any societal impact in bridging global inequality in some capacity?
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is superior on: August 11, 2018, 10:24:36 PM
Bitcoin is the ultimate cryptocurrency as a currency- for medium of exchange, store of value, and unit of account. No other crypto rivals Bitcoin in terms of use as a currency.

However, there are numerous utility currencies that can do many amazing things that Bitcoin currently cannot. If these utilities begin to see massive adoption than BTC dominance my fall.

185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Mirrax's HIGH RISK altcoin investment guide for 2017 on: August 05, 2018, 05:42:54 AM
Wow, looking back on this thread seems things actually fared quite well. Don't know what Feathercoin and Unitas have been up to but the other three have done real well, especially ETC with its upcoming coinbase listing.

Waiting patiently for the 2018 calls Smiley
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOpool Smart Contract on: August 05, 2018, 05:37:56 AM
Are you pouring water here because you are doing a bounty task or can you really appreciate the improvements that MyWish made compared to the pool of Primablock ??

I appreciate the improvements of MyWish as an investor. I've used Primablock before with a private trading group, and as several members are invested in MyWish it's likely that it'll be used once markets pick up and we start pooling again.

And again, as an investor, I think this is a great development. 2 ETH buy pressure on markets with every use and by-and-large the best investment pool option available right now. TheDAO couldn't do this with $30 mil+ in funding!
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The first eSport to use the blockchain, supported by COINBASE on: August 05, 2018, 05:35:12 AM
Very cool game but it's incorrect to say it's the first eSport to use blockchain. First of all there are other cryptocurrency games (Spells of Genesis, Hammercoin) and blockchain games (Huntercoin) that have been operating for years. It's also not the first to see competitive play: Rocktropia, Beyond the Void, Pixel Wars (soon). Blockchain gaming goes back to at least 2013, not a new industry by any means.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum Classsic is going down? on: August 05, 2018, 05:31:21 AM
so lets get around while coinbase activates etherum classic on the platform too
Its happening - https://blog.coinbase.com/final-testing-for-etc-support-on-coinbase-cdccaedb2ae3  Wink

Only reason it's not continuing to fall with every other crypto- but certainly a fine reason. Litecoin saw huge pumps in 2017 because people were by and large purchasing the cheapest coin on Coinbase. ETC will now be the cheapest one to buy. It's flawed logic but logic that is employed by many average Joes.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Gamecredits - pure shit? on: August 05, 2018, 05:25:39 AM
1337 is an old coin that rebranded as Elite and it's developing a minecraft use.  It's about one Sat but it's always been pretty low.

Elite is low because it has mega supply. Nothing new there. How has development on Minecraft server been? I don't check up on there too often but awaiting patiently. Banano put together a Minecraft server but they messed up the economy and had to shut down.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Gamecredits - pure shit? on: August 04, 2018, 10:08:36 PM
GAME and sister currency MGO because a faction of frustrated developers revealed that the CEO and his brother who control the entire warchest sre completely incompetent for their positions and have no faith in cryptocurrency. However, the faction has created the open source GC Foundation to develop the GAME blockchain. Hopefully it can rebound if meaningful development picks up once more.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple, Tron, Cardano: overhype and uselessness define these 3 cryptocurrencies on: August 04, 2018, 10:06:11 PM
I oppose Ripple on a fundamental level but I think these types of arguments don't quantify the capabilities of the project. RippleNet (payment channels) released over a year before Lightning Network. With that they are saving 70% on cross border oayments. Even if they are using placeholders to make exchanges, they are utilizing a service offered by Ripple that they are paying for and has huge payoffs. It's a legitimate project.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: its over , Goldman Sachs says so... on: August 04, 2018, 10:03:07 PM
Goldman Sachs and all the economists that denounce crypto as worthless because it doesn't hold merit as a currency know nothing about the subject. Cryptocurrency goes leagues beyond just currency, the value lies in the new and radical utilities possible through the technology.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best coins in August? on: August 04, 2018, 09:59:52 PM
I'm very much looking forward to XAYA, whose main sale launches in late August. They've already launched the mainnet (it'd a custom blockchain for gaming) and their first game will also be published prior to the coin sale.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Online Dating Going Into Blockchain on: August 04, 2018, 09:53:11 PM
There's a few projects in the dating space that are blockchain based. On one hand, security and encryption are a great benefit for participants. However, blockchains have a nature of permanency, which I believe is write a huge drawback.

More importantly, how difficult is it to match UI and simplicity of other apps? If it's difficult/impossible, I don't see anyone adopting this type of application.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SeeSaw Mechanism on: August 04, 2018, 06:53:05 AM
how would you rate SeeSaw mechanism between Stakers and masternodes in Proof Of Stake coins.?

What is a SeeSaw mechanism?Huh Am genuinely confused as I have never heard this terminology before.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: August 04, 2018, 06:46:18 AM
That's a bad one if this ended up being a scam. What project can one trust again? This is not just affecting the investors but also hurting the crypto ecosystem in general. I do hope in the near future we find ways to curb such things from happening. What assurance will an investor have that Ethereum won't turn out this bad one day? We need a stringer system of insurance of investors funds being put into crypto, if not mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain solutions they bring is a long shot away

Major developments of Ethereum don't happen behind close doors with multimillions in funding. It's decentralized. The decentralized nature of GameCredits also in hi it's it's ultimate demise, as the foundation could be born through this actuality.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Artificial Intelligence Cryptos? Any recommendations? on: August 03, 2018, 07:11:56 AM
Endor Protocol is not <exactly> what you are asking for but worth a check nonetheless. It's a protocol upon Ethereum for predictive analytics. You ask a predictive question, send EDR tokens equivalent to the cost of the computing power to answer that question, and receive your response. Pretty awesome stuff IMO.

That is a great concept, do they already have working product? I know the same but their concept is to provide analytics on labeling data sets and validation. The project called Dbrain. Now they still developing their beta app but already working. Simple people like us can initiate task for data labeling and will be rewarded cryptocurrency. The result will be pass on data scientist to train on neural networks and build AI dapps. Check this post on their facebook profile to viewed how their platform works. https://www.facebook.com/dbrainio/videos/2176838879246690/

Yes, Endor is already working. There are two branches of the platform- Enterprise and Protocol. Enterprise is for negotiations with private business and began in 2017. Current clientele includes Walmart, Coca Cola, and MasterCard. Protocol is the decentralized ecosystem where anyone can send questions in and get answers out. That is in closed Beta with 25k~ participants. Both branches answer questions in the exact same manner, tho.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does anyone know what's happen with WAVES ? on: August 03, 2018, 07:05:02 AM
I think blockchain 2.0 intiatives (smart contract revolution) by and large are getting eaten up by their 3.0 (interoperability, communicability, scalability revolution) successors. Blockchains that aren't solidifed as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc are need to bring in real use to maintain value, and the easiest platforms to develop on will receive all he activity.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Stable Coins on: August 03, 2018, 07:01:59 AM
Sorry To say, this list is not perfect. Did you pick some coin only for promotion? I think some stable coins are

1. EOS
2. BNB
3. NEO
4. ADA
5. ARK

Though some coins price is very low now comparing previous prices but still they are safe, secure and stable coins.

Stablecoins are pegged to (and reflect the value of) an asset. None of those or the ones OP listed are stablecoins. Legitimate examples include DigixGold, Havven, TrueUSD, BitUSD, Tether, MakerDAI, and I'm sure plenty of others I am unaware of.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is cryptocurrency a ponzi? on: August 03, 2018, 06:59:05 AM
ICO model is essentially a new approach to venture capital. Yes, most will fail, but that's nothing new in world of startup investments. You invest for the hidden gems that will net 100x or 1000x returns. Most will fail but those investing have sn obligation to do their research and understand how the market operates at a basic level.
