This is a solid tool to use. It's easy to forget what the different units of Bitcoin represent, and this is much simpler than googling what each unit represents and doing conversions manually. I ran the site with and without AdBlock up. With AdBlock, the interface is simple and intuitive. Without, the site is a little cluttered with advertisements, and is much less visually appealing. Regardless, the site serves its function well.

If Bitcoin takes off- as in sees daily usage on a large scale, then regulations are inevitable. This is something that cannot be avoided. Some will argue that "Bitcoin is outside of the influence of government. It cannot be regulated." This is not true by any means. If Bitcoin is completely outlawed, yes, some will continue to use it illegally, but it will effectively kill Bitcoin. The general population will not adopt something that has been deemed illegal. Philosophers of Bitcoin can argue the morality or grounds for such thing, and they can curse the government to the high heavens, but it won't change this reality that if democracies and republics of this world agree to outlaw or heavily regulate Bitcoin, then such an outcome is inevitable.

Hypothetically speaking... even IF a bunch of merchants all decided to stop accepting Bitcoin, would there really be any change in price? Bitcoin's price is, and has always been, almost purely speculatory. The only way merchants discontinuing Bitcoin would affect the price level would be if there was significant coverage on such events, but bad news rarely gets spread in this community.

Welcome to the neighborhood! If you're looking for goods to bring to the Bitcoin community, it's hard to go wrong. There isn't many options for worldly goods at this point in time. Digital goods, collectors items, and novelty purchases dominate Bitcoin's white hat commerce. Anything that sells to the young adult, white, male demographic will sell similarly to the Bitcoin community!

This is actually a major flaw with Bitcoin right now- there is very little investment opportunity. Investment spending is a great way to grow an economy, and in Bitcoin's case, the price and overall market value of it. Unfortunately, it's hard for anyone outside of investment firms to make safe Bitcoin-related investments at this point in time.

Any proof of payment, OP? Constantly updating us with your statistics screen means nothing until you can prove that your $$ earnings can be converted into paypal, bitcoin, or another medium that actually allows you to access and use the funds.

How exactly is Biterial supposed to stack up against OpenBazaar? Don't you think it will be hard to build traction when so many are already invested in and awaiting the full release of OpenBazaar?

Hey everyone, I'm a current High School Senior finishing up with the tail end of the college application program, and currently looking into scholarships.
Does anyone know if there are any scholarships available from companies or individuals within the community in regards to Bitcoin? I'm not exactly sure how likely such a thing would be, but I figure its best to at least ask! (Not sure if this is the right subforum, wasn't exactly sure where to pose the question. My apologies if this is the wrong section!)

The biggest mistake I see newbies making is trying to jump into monetary schemes the minute they get into Bitcoin. Do not waste your time on faucets. Do not waste your time on signature campaigns at low levels. You may not earn anything at the start, but knowledge is infinitely more valuable than the lowest forms of online labor. Integrate yourself into the community and ask questions. Giveaways and opportunities will reveal themselves to you naturally. Once you get your footing and understand the ins and outs, you can start looking at ways to earn money.
In my case, I took advantage of many gambling promotions early on. Then I started freelance writing to earn a decent Bitcoin wage. I've also been participating in signature campaigns over time.

Leave her the hell alone when it comes to this subject. Nothing good will come of it. No matter what happens it'll always be your fault. Goes up? You didn't get her to buy enough. Goes down, you talked her into it. Hacked, wallet failure, meteor takes out every exchange - your fault.
Exactly... As much as we would all like to convince everyone around us to buy Bitcoin, you just can't force it upon anyone. I get that some people are pushing for converting others to up the value in Bitcoin, but it's just not worth the effort and solidifcation of Bitcoin's poor reputation. Now, that's just in regards to friends and acquaintances. When it comes to your SO, you absolutely should NOT be trying to force them into anything financially. There is absolutely nothing good that will come from forcing your reluctant girlfriend into Bitcoin. If she makes more money than you, OP, she probably isn't a clueless person.

Honestly what it looks like to me is btc-e is experimenting with the consequences of an exit scam. There is absolutely nothing to hold them accountable for their decisions with the site, and I honestly don't know why an exit scam wouldn't take place at some point.
That, or they are actually are making a run for it...

I understand that by looking over my post history you will see that I have not been active as of recently. I'd just like to clarify that I stepped away from Bitcoin for the past few months in reaction to blocksize debate and controversy over at r/Bitcoin. I am back now and have a very good history of quality performance in past campaigns. Thank you!

$500 for a hoverboard? Don't they sell for around $300 on Amazon? And with a Purse discount... that makes purchasing from them around half of what you are charging. Good luck with selling either way, but I think you should lower the price.

This is the killer app Bitcoin has always needed to reach mass adoption. I can see it now. ShitDice will take Bitcoin into the mainstream. Thank you for your contribution Diamond, you are the hero we need.

Please do not spread FUD when you don't know what your talking about. There are very clearly laws and rules that must be abided by. Bitcoin is a currency, no more, it does not mean do whatever you want and get away with it. If you do something against the law, you will be prosecuted.
You are by far the dumbest person I've come across on this forum. You are posting on a BITCOIN forum, do you realise that? Bitcoin is decentralised, there is no LAW. There is no GOVERNMENT. If you are a citizen of any government you still abide by their laws, regardless of if you are using Bitcoin or not. If you live in a tinfoil house in the middle of the ocean then sure, you can do anything you want with your Bitcoins. Otherwise, you still need to abide by the laws of your country. Bitcoin ponzi schemes have been busted by local governments in the past.

If someone were to use blockchain.info in the past, and then access their wallet through another service and stop using blockchain.info, are they at the same risk to hackers as those actively using bc.i?

Damn... I expected price to drop back down after it hit $350. Made an order on purse with the majority of my Bitcoin to purchase a hoverboard. Needless to say, this is going to be a very expensive hoverboard.

I guess yes $350 is new barrier to be passed by to feel safe. Price started to move back around and even under 300. So I guess there will be swing between 250-350 in couple of months.
Has the price dipped back below $300 yet? Either way, I'd be shocked to see prices fall back down to $250 after defeating the resistance at $300 for the first time this year.
