I read on the Purevidz Thread that NOVUS was registered on the 21 Oct last year? same day like PV?
What is true on that.
Dude. Please listen up. NO ONE GIVES A FUCKING FUCK. The rules are so fucking simple an uneducated West African goat herder can follow them. Step 1. Buy the fucking ICO. Give your money to the dev. Step 2. Somehow the ICO goals are magically reached. Some people have even actually handed over their own money. Step 3. Brown pants time. Those who gave their money now need to wait to dump it on to others when the markets open on some shit exchange. Step 4. The pump begins. Fuck me, this investment is the best thing on the internet. Quick...everyone, tell everyone. Step 5. Dev starts releasing stuff and would you fucking believe it, devs achieve whatever milestone set in order to get your money. Step 6. PUMP THE FUCKING BITCH. PUMP, PUMP, PUMP, PUMP, PUMP. Step 7. PUMP THE FUCKING BITCH EVEN HARDER THAN BEFORE. Declare the location of the missing piece of crypto evolution has been discovered and the world will shower you with gifts of diamonds, property, cars, hookers and blow. Step 8. Devs are cooking on gas. Never has a dev released so much high quality coding in the history of the world. Satoshi is a fucking retard compared to this dev. Step 9. WOW. THE PRICE IS ON FUCKING FIRE. SELL ALL YOUR OTHER ALTS AND PUMP THIS BITCH SOME MORE. TOP 10 HERE WE COME. Step 10. Houston, we have a problem. Something went wrong with the code. There was a legal issue with the paperwork. Devs are not happy with something. Step 11. Price correction. A big sell-off. What the fuck happened? Mid pump, and the lights go out. Did the exchange have a problem with their electricity generator? Step 12. Pump team have stopped posting. The training wheels are off. You're on your own. That's just about it for the 12 Steps programme for this coin. Now, where is the next magical coin going to appear I wonder? http://americanaddictioncenters.org/rehab-guide/12-step/

ISTR someone observing (correctly at the time) that Spreadcoin lacked a “public vision”.
I pondered that for a long time and eventually arrived at some conclusions:
i) a “vision” can be misleading - ANNs for pump-and-dump runs typically feature ambitious (albeit spurious) visions, presumably to draw in the punters ii) the notion of an overall directing “vision” is untenable in the context of a peer-to-peer networked cryptocurrency iii) a functioning Teal organisation will evolve its own vision common purpose as an emergent property of the social consensus
Visions have an unfortunate habit of vaporising when the dev loses interest (examples abound). I'd argue that they signify an elevated risk of failure, the more detailed and extensive the vision, the more damage if/when it proves vacuous.
Cheers
Graham
nah. It all goes south when the dev thinks he knows everything - usually when there is a laser sharp focus on technical issues, whilst ignoring the end user.

PureVidz has greatly abused the patience of its investors ...
Like Christians Bales character in The BIG SHORT.......We dont know whats good for us!!! lmao Yes ... you are free to buy in 2000 and sell us 300 because of the developer Playing with you. I buy 10btc vidz for 200sat. I don't trust exchanges so we find escrow for the deal. Soon vidz be worth 200 sat so don't shoot me. I give you way out, I very nice pimp Take 24hrs to sober up.

Is this a new project or are you working on updating PV? It's new project. I was tired from pv.asphyxia game so start new one. It's developed by me and my company. i'm not anon, not use newbie acc, i'm going to the market with my skin You know uploading your own content which is subject to copyright and earning money off it is illegal, right?

Then JoyStream come sooner? at this point it's more convenient do a copy / paste
Interesting idea giving everyone the option for forking into Joystream based on what they hold in vTorrent. Would the vtorrent devs be up for maintaining two coins? Also, why not set a bar and time frame? If you hold vTorrent on (say) 1 May and you have over 10 or 100 VTR you'll show-up on the explorer and you'll get coins issued for free on a new JVStream Not sure how we'd deal with people on Bittrex??? Don't go getting all excited. People don't always like these things. So first lets discuss it and also confirm that vTorrent is still the only focus. I'm thinking that if there is a way for the two projects to co-exist without any issues - in fact could help each other in some ways we haven't thought about yet (IPFS would be a cool addition) - that could be a great outcome.

The plan B if it all goes wrong = I can always fork to JoyStream when it goes open source.
That way, people can choose JoyStream with Bitcoin and no opportunity to invest; or VTR Classic, with an ability to get into the coin.
Good to have a plan B! I assume you mean investors would burn VTR for token used on JoyStream clone ... If this is serious proposal VTR risk::reward would change considerably, VTR would certainly be most undervalued coin. Risk factor now is dev lack of communication might indicate development has stalled, but if there is plan B, time to invest! I don't see why we can't do both. Someone somewhere will fork JoyStream. Might as well be vTorrent hodlers. That way you avoid JoyStream fork competitors - even though there is so much room for many competitors in this space. No need to burn your VTRs. We'll just issue tokens to people that can prove they are hodlers or possibly distribute coins based on the top 100 list on a VTR explorer or something. We'll all get two coins without having to invest again. JoyStream is 100% investment via shares in a company so it won't feature on Coinmarketcap. We might even do a token sale for a bunch of coins to raise some cash to add IPFS to the JoyStream fork. ipfsTorrent, wTorrent, or vTorrent Classic? You've got a few weeks to tell me why this is a bad idea. Then we'll probably start planning how we can do something, report back on proposals and then we'll look to do something. Why not?

That is indeed a good article. Thanks for sharing

^^^ bump Lol, you don't expect the devs two answer do you?
No. I think if you look at GitHub, you can pretty much work out what's coming. In which order features will be released is a different issue. But vTorrent is exceptionally feature rich compared to just about every coin out there right now. I do mean, every coin. What do you see that is coming? I'm looking at the GitHub and don't "see" what you see. </div><!-- #coincontrol -->

.. What would be required and how long would it take for an independent Spreadcoin development effort to be able to match (at least) most of those statements?
Cheers
Graham
You know what a lot of these projects lack? Vision. Sure there are lots of features in there. But drill down into what they mean and it's a list of items that bring the project into the 'me too' category at best. Even DASH's Evolution is based off my vision for making crypto easy to use and more like internet banking.

If you haven't been paying attention to the Kim Dot-com case, it's about time you did. New Zealand has just been put on the hook for paying compensation to Kim Dot-com for upwards of $2bn. http://thedailyblog.co.nz/2017/02/22/why-you-should-care-about-the-kafkaesque-abomination-that-is-the-legal-case-against-kim-dotcom/Why you should care. VTR is actually the name used in the most famous case in Us copyright history. It is the case that establishes that BitTorrent is a legal piece of software. https://w2.eff.org/legal/cases/betamax/These cases could be great news for vTorrent. The paid file sharing option and linking payments back to royalties means that the movie industry can change its business model to release content globally in one go and do so very cheaply using users own hardware and bandwidth. If vTorrent can add streaming, then we can go mainstream with support from the media industry. They can upload files directly into vTorrent and watch the royalties start flowing immediately with zero distribution costs. If, would, could don't really help though. The whole value in this case is coming from the future potential. The project might get delivered in 2 years, may be too late by then. We can't just tell. Still seems ok, so I'm hodling but I wish the dev was responsive. Quite a red flag. I see a lot of potential but there is very high risk. This is not for everyone. The plan B if it all goes wrong = I can always fork to JoyStream when it goes open source. That way, people can choose JoyStream with Bitcoin and no opportunity to invest; or VTR Classic, with an ability to get into the coin.

As promised, new client with major upgrades is coming soon, it is still being worked on since there are some thread-related bugs causing the client to crash on certain conditions.
Regards, vTorrent
God only knows what's coming and when. 'Major upgrades' could be anything.

Dear all,
We have been monitoring the network and working with Bittrex to make sure there will be no issues and no coins will be lost during the hardfork.
I am pleased to inform you all that everything went smoothly and we have successfully switched the vTorrent network from Protocol v1 (80014 in 0.7.x) to v2 (80016 in 0.8.x) that took place on block 1,200,000.
As promised, new client with major upgrades is coming soon, it is still being worked on since there are some thread-related bugs causing the client to crash on certain conditions.
Regards, vTorrent
How did the bug fixing go? Are we to expect a new client before the hard fork in a few weeks time?
|
|
|
The market will react extremely hysteric, as always ... Without a reason! The bug has been fixed now. When there is blood on the street, it's time to buy. Good luck everyone. There are bugs and there are BUGS. This is a pretty fucking serious bug. Even if you can patch the code, I don't think you can patch the confidence.
