and CPU mining is not efficient!

I thought the blockchain is stored on each harddrive where the client is running? Can't you find all the blocks and transaction there, too?
Why do you have to go through the website?

wallet adress?

#2100 , #2200 are same person, lol

*LOL* If I won some PMC by hitting those post numbers then feel free to donate it to the faucet or for block rewards ... it's OK Smiley

http://cryptexplorer.com is really frustrating me now.

I don't know what the problem is. I have the hashes, all I need is the information from each page. It was working fine yesterday for 300 blocks, so not sure why it's choking up now for a very similar amount. Without a fleshed out API it's very difficult.

I'll keep running tests until I've sussed it out. I spent all night writing the code, so I'm not giving up on it. It may just be simply that the site just blocks you once you make too many connections. If that is the case I'm not sure what to do. There are a few more things I can try, so I will try.

I don't think it's my code, because I can examine x amount of blocks, but then after awhile I get page load errors.

True that but you are forgetting that PoW coins get their value from amount of money invested in obtaining them from digital
ground. Just like gold or silver in real world, price is bound to the costs of mining the resource. No one in the right mind will
pay 1,000 USD for something that costs 1 USD to be created.

That's true. If something costs 1 USD to produce, then it's worth somewhat close to 1 USD.
It's important to note though that what matters is how much it costs right now, not yesterday or one year ago.

For example, one year ago it was much cheaper to produce 1 BTC than it is right now. However, the cost of every BTC (even those produced 3 years ago) goes according to the cost of producing it now.

So, how much does it cost to produce 1 PMC right now? It's very difficult to say considering it's impossible to create new coins now.

That's exactly the question. PMC, BTC and so on all of them need new blocks to keep up the flow of the coins whether there is a block reward of x coins or only a fee per transaction. And the fees per transaction are always less than block rewards.

That means that once BTC or any other coins are mined completely it will lose all it's value because no new coins can be found.

No, just means no new coins are minted. That's one of the major benefits of Bitcoin. It's anti-inflationary.

yes I know that.

I'm not a coder and I have no idea about it but could it be possible to make that fee dynamically adjustable because I guess it's difficult to make everyone installing a new wallet once fees would change?
I was thinking the same - a relative fee..i don't know maybe 1-2% would be fair.

yes right. and this fee is automatically deducted from the balance upon sending coins.
1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: January 27, 2014, 01:52:34 PM
Stop giving away, there are too many greedy users here.

I think that in this manner we don't go far away

There is a faucet now. I would also rather create bounties now with the rest of the PMC I want to give away.

The miners need some love, now. This is my current task. 0.25 PMC per empty mined block awarded. Maybe even prizes for certain blocks.

As I said earlier I like that you coding this script and am willing to donate to for this project.
I think the 0.25 PMC per Block is too much. I try to explain why I think this way:

Take Bitcoin as an example.

The reward was 50 BTC per Block. That’s are 7200 BTC per day and 2,628,000 BTC per year.

That’s approximately 1/8 or 12,5% or the total supply per year.

If you transfer this to PMC that’s 62571 PMC p.a. and 171 PMC per day.

If we assume one Block per minute (what is the average of the last 5000 blocks) that’s 171PMC/1440=0,12 PMC per Block.

You could easily do this same with Quark (someone compared PMC with Quark in this thread)

Can you provide any statistics how many blocks are without fees and how much are with and how much fee is paid through transactions per day? This would be very interesting.

This is something that I'm put a great deal of thought into. I think you are spot on. It is really going to come down to the use of the coin. Figuring out what sort of forced fee to add is something that is hard to figure at this point. You have my word that I am working hard to get this right.

The fee will also depend on the value of the coin: low value bigger numbers of coins are sent, very high value small amounts maybe less than 0.1 of coins are sent.

I'm not a coder and I have no idea about it but could it be possible to make that fee dynamically adjustable because I guess it's difficult to make everyone installing a new wallet once fees would change?

Is it possible to make all the wallets mine to sustain the network?

That's not something you should force on people.

and CPU mining is not efficient!
