321  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Love's last hope: Consensual non-monogamy on: December 16, 2018, 08:00:39 AM
Look, dude, just because you can't commit to one person, it doesn't mean we are all like that.

I like marriage, monogamy,  love, routine, the whole shabang.

You are not saying anything revolutionary here. Just because most people are serially monogamous, it doesn't undermine monogamy or the fact that it is society's consensus this is how it will be. And the fact that many people cheat just means they are lacking morals.

Just so you know, on political compass I am right up there with Ghandi so you don't go saying this is some backwards conservative stance.

Thank you for this really insightful and useful post, you bring on a completely new persepctive (not).
323  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think countries should leave the EU? on: December 15, 2018, 05:58:40 PM
No, I don't. Sure, EU has many faults, but they can be resolved. The EU has many advantages for its citizens that we like to forget. And it is again up to us to VOTE people into the parliament that will follow what the people want.

It is not the same thing, but noone is ever saying if Florida etc should leave the USA. Other countries should stay out of this. If Britain, Greece or whichever country wants to leave the EU, fine, but that is between them and the EU, not the rest of the world.
324  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Google the word "idiot" and Donald Trump would appear on: December 13, 2018, 08:42:24 PM
@Spendulus, seeing is believing. I have seen his spelling, heard him speak like a 6 year old, seen how he interacts on international levels, heard him say lies and a whole lot of nonsense and sorry, that is my opinion. I really think American people can do better. Republican or democrat, just not Trump.

Just don't say fake news.
325  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit status on: December 13, 2018, 08:14:54 PM
Brexit will happen. There is no chance in hell any government would have guts to trump over the vote.

I think it will have a bad impact on UK's economy for about a decade but people according to their legislation chose to be able to control immigration better over economic benefits. Of course it was a lot more complicated than that, but that's that in a nutshell.
326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Google the word "idiot" and Donald Trump would appear on: December 13, 2018, 04:38:02 PM
I am not too surprised:

-he is unable to speak eloquently like politicians of his rank should be (his immigrant wife is better at this)
-he can't spell
-he has shown he does not have much knowledge about international relations and the rest of the world
-he thinks he can lie and noone will catch on
-he is not able to grasp important scientific facts even when they are explained in layman's terms
-he thinks denying something enough times will make it go away
-he thinks Mexico will pay for the wall
-need I go on?
327  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cheer up Michael on: December 13, 2018, 04:23:44 PM
No, you said about half of congress was using public funds to cover up sexual harassment accusations.

I didn't ask your opinion wheter half the congress should be charged, I asked if half of congress was found guilty of this in a court of law like Cohen was.
328  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cheer up Michael on: December 12, 2018, 08:12:25 PM

So your argument is a proven liar has some unproven stories about Donald Trump? Ok. Also if what he did is in fact illegal campaign contributions, what precedent does this set for about half of congress using public funds to cover up sexual harassment accusations?

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/08/in_case_you_forgot__congress_paid_17_million_in_hush_money_to_protect_politicians.html

And finally to the real point of your out of context quote, where does the Russian collusion tie in here again? You still have nothing.

Has half the congress actually been found guilty of this cover up before courts?
329  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cheer up Michael on: December 12, 2018, 07:04:21 PM
He got 3 years, what I want to know is, will there be consequences for DT? It seems there should be. I don't understand how his base still supports him after everything we have seen sofar.

Trump thinks there is no ground for impeachment but he deceived American voters. To me it sounds much like treason.
330  Other / Serious discussion / Re: The Rap genre is the last bastion of misogyny that no one talks about. on: December 08, 2018, 02:07:18 PM
I support feminism. But I think rap is just music. Misogyy exists, no doubt about it, a lot of rap songs have misogynyst lyrics, but rap is not causing further harm here. It is lashing out maybe, but people who don't think that way won't be converted to misogyny.
331  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Bitcoin is on a cliff edge. on: December 08, 2018, 02:01:01 PM
I don't know, so many people are saying it may fall to 1500$ or less. It is hard to say if they are just FUDsters and what their real motives are. It is too hard to believe this will all just crash and burn. I didn't have a lot to invest so I basically have nothing to lose if it does, but realistically, it just doesn't seem likely. Bitcoin is just too big.
332  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US-China Trade War Update! on: December 07, 2018, 06:44:45 PM
Why are tariffs even needed on Chinese "goods"? Apart from some exceptions, they are low quality in my opinion.
333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bald men discrimination on: December 05, 2018, 05:57:08 PM
It's the same as making fun of skinny people vs fat people. Somehow it's totally ok to mock skinny people but god help you if you mock a fat person. Specially in 2018.

I am skinny and was made fun off. Usually by the fat person. But I think society hates fat people so much, those people really suffer. Me, I get a raised brow and a joke, fat people get digust and all sorts of prejudice. So I think those fat people who make fun of me are really just jelous, wish they were me, they suffer. So I don't resent them all that much. I think I have it good compared to them.
334  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate trumps wall.. on: December 05, 2018, 07:36:50 AM

Snipped

But really, the first thing you need to know about the wall is there is no wall!

It was just a political maneuver Trump used to gain votes -- pretty standard politician tactic of promising something that sounds awesome to your base and then never delivering on it.

Wasn't that quite clear when he said Mexico is going to pay for the wall? What a stupid statement.
335  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bald men discrimination on: December 04, 2018, 06:40:00 AM
I can eat a crap ton of junk food and remain skinny (I guess not the most popular look with the opposite sex either) but I know that most fat people have bad metabolism and some other genetic traits like gut flora that makes it a hell of a lot easier for them to put on weight and a lot harder to lose it, too.

Stil doesn't make it OK to make fun of bald men but it must be regional to your country and some other becuase where I am many men actually shave their heads to look bald. Something about high testosterone makes them popular with the ladies. Two of my close female friends can atest to that.

It is a problem that must be dealt with for sure. You can help by spreading awareness, not just on this forum, but also social media and other venues. Good on you for taking this path.

No price can be put on human life. That child's upbringing and education would have cost far less and once grown up that child could have given back to society. I hope high damages are granted.
337  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Missionary killed by Primitive tribe in India on: December 01, 2018, 07:05:25 AM
Since it is known history that in 1879 an elderly couple infected islanders with a disease, it is quite possible they see outsiders as a threat ever since that happened.

They might have legends and stories about it. They do not know about ouside world, its laws and its morals. They do not know that Spendulus will strongly condemn their act online.

All they might have seen was another threat coming from the outside that might make their tribe sick when they are generally always in excellent health and thrive.

I am sorry about the missionary's death, but this is like taking your helmet off in outer space.
338  Other / Politics & Society / Re: House Democrats unveil their first bill in the majority. Targeting corruption! on: December 01, 2018, 06:05:16 AM
The fight against corruption should be universal. I don't see how any party can be against such fight and still stand. They don't want to be known as pro corruption, do they?

Of course, Instead of being straightforward against the bill, they might make up excuses as to what is "wrong" with the bill. That it doesn't solve anything, it is too long, too short or whatever. My imagination is not that good so I will watch and see.

The problem is cash can be devalued, too. You could have a bunch of it and it could be worth very little. Maybe try gold.
