101  Other / Meta / Re: theymos is a government agent | do not use this forum it is honeypot on: May 26, 2015, 02:28:52 AM
NEWSFLASH: The entire internet is a honeypot.

We should down grade to the Intranet then.
102  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fox News is ‘self-brainwashing’ Republicans into a radical fringe party on: May 26, 2015, 12:38:03 AM
That has been the case for awhile and not anything new.

Pretty sure the emergence of the Tea Party was because of Fox News antics.

No, the tea party was started by the Koch brothers and others.

As far as conservative vs liberal, it makes no difference.  Either way your political views as a voted are not being represented unless you got a few g's to bribe a politician or two.  Both parties are incredibly corrupt.  I say this as a liberal.  It makes no difference who you vote for.

A few "G's", that is so 1990's  it's more like a few M's now.

Funny,

I thought Governments would just LOVE Christians with Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's (Taxes), and "Turn the other cheek".  Instead they love, do what you like just don't get caught?

Hmm... No wonder they are failing.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McDonald's now accepts Apple Pay and Google Wallet on: May 25, 2015, 11:55:58 PM
What's the holdup with Bitcoin?  No lobbyists to bring it to McDonald's and make deals?  Transactions too slow?

Right now, people can tap their phone on the register and pay.  Should there be an effort to get retailers to accept Bitcoin, or should we just concentrate on easy ways to fund our Google Wallet and Apple Pay with Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a transactional currency BUT for items that don't require a large amount of transactions. The cost to the customer to convert dollars to BTC to pay for a McD's meal would not benefit the customer. It would benefit the restaurant and converter of those funds.

NOW, if one was able to pay with cash and have the option of receiving the 'change' in BTC would change that problem.

where is the info in the blockchain so i can look at it,

Never looked for that one, but the Strings command can find it for you. Actually the Strings command can find a lot of weird, funny, and whimsical stuff in the block chain.

We are starting to see hacked accounts from the leak appear and begin to troll these forums. Theymos needs to force a password reset on all unchanged passwords ASAP.

What will that do? it'll only make it slightly easier for the hacker, he won't have to go through as many mouse clicks to reset a password after he logs in.

Precisely, odds are the attacker will log on and go directly to change the passwords of compromised accounts. I however am more curious to see if my account gets hacked (doubtful) but it would interest me considering the strength of the hash.

You should change your password. I'm guessing a lot of people have the dump by now. Password crackers are really smart, almost any password a human can think of can be cracked within a few hours with under $10,000 worth of GPU's.

So you have bought $10,000 worth of GPU to dedicate to cracking my pw hash (which is very long and hard) to gain access to my bitcointalk.org account which is the only place that hash is used?  We need to talk about risk rewards. Time would be better spent mining with those GPU's.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an actual Bitcoin bank yet? on: May 25, 2015, 10:57:44 PM
A bank doesn't mean centralization. A central bank means centralization.

If you run a bitcoin related business, you will see that a lot of traditional banks don't accept your money because of regulatory issues. For all these companies, a bitcoin bank would make sense.

Also if you see how many regulations for ATMs exist in some countries: A Bitcoin related bank could easily run a lot of those.

Cold storage is, in some jurisdictions, highly (over-)regulated. With a Bitcoin bank, this would be easier.

There is a lot of possibilities for a bank without being a threat of decentralization or the basic idea behind Bitcoin. This mainly depends on the concept of such a bank.

But if you think about traditional banking as we know it - then I agree: No need.

Some local townships offer 'local money' that only 'local banks' would accept. They are more of coupons with value but the concept is similar. I believe Germany classified BTC as a private currency. So that is also similar. The problem comes in with the FED when the 'local currency' becomes usable in a greater and greater amount of places challenging the traditional currency. The bad replaces the good.
108  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Crypto Boost on: May 25, 2015, 10:52:03 PM
Since you seem to take it seriously. I will take 1% of the royalties in perpetuity. Sourced from the income from the percentages of those that acquire the stakes in the companies. This is done on a digital handshake. (Lemonis get that credit).

However, I will reduce the 1% by 0.01% for every million in revenue to an absolute minimum of 0.1%. I'm not greedy.

I would also like an option to offer to fund a company that I think has potential in competition with the other last round sharks. Think of it as a Mystery Shark or the Loch ness Monster offer. I'll be in direct competition with the other sharks and can be out offered. If my offer is accepted by the entrepreneur, my 1%-0.1% of that particular deal will goto a charity.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mt gox claims on: May 25, 2015, 10:15:52 PM
Please send an email to support@mtgox.com - we will need to do additional verification to process your claim.

Ok, that is suspicious. Since, mtgox support nick was fast tracked, I suppose theymos could verify it...

LOL, ROFL, LOL...

MSNBC watcher?

I'd say most people that are serious here are Libertarians. They don't fall for the 'tricks' of emotional leftists or the of the arrogant right.

If you stand back and watch the old rich white woman call the right old rich white guys with no diversity, you'd have to laugh a little. Considering there is ONE democrat that is an old rich white woman going up against at least TEN on the right that are white, black, male, female, hispanic, libertarian, etc..., etc... and decrying they are not diverse.

mt. gox support just came to visit us after 3 years without single post?Smiley coincidence for sure!

Well he, like me, probably received an email from the forum about a hack. And logged on to see what is happening. Since, today is a holiday, I'm wasting time chilling out on the forum poking my nose into threads here and there...

Perhaps,

The forum is a subversive Political Action Committee for a party to fund its candidates and the hacks are the result of 'Opposition Research' trying to get some dirt...

BTC_Bear, would you settle for a paid position of the first round (unless you're qualified to be a member on one of the other two rounds, that is)?

Hmm... NO, but I will take 1% in perpetuity (those that know me will get that amount) AND a 0.5% stake in all offers funded.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold Losing It's Shine? on: May 25, 2015, 06:15:53 PM
It's not losing it's weight...

We have around $20 TRILLION dollars in debt, and another $60-$80 TRILLION in unfunded liabilities... There's not enough trees to print that much money. So the government definitely put the FIAT in fiat currency... The FED was suppose to protect us from this. It didn't.

I'm not say fiat currency can't work, it just needs to be managed with real controls that are not politicized. People will one day realize that fiat currency is an abstract item in a hyper-reality that is worthless. I'm not saying to go throw all your money into Gold but it better be part of your diversification portfolio, along with Silver, Palladium, etc... Canned Food too !!!
117  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NSA, CIA, IRS, DHS, ATF, FBI, GCHQ, Federal Reserve, ISIS are the illuminati on: May 25, 2015, 06:07:48 PM
There are so many 3-4 letter acronym agencies out there now that we can start trading them as currency.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: Question for those who bought/mined BTC when it was mere pennies & held strong on: May 25, 2015, 06:05:03 PM
I came in way too late of the game.

Around 2012 when it was $100, bought 1 btc, only since was new the whole scene. I`d like to hear what the old timers what they have to say though.  Smiley

Here is PM theymos once send me:

Hello. I'm writing to let you know that due to a subpoena that I received related to a case against BFL, I was forced to release some of your PMs.

In particular, I released all PMs that you sent to or received from the following people, possibly even if you deleted the PM:

Inaba
BFL-Engineer
BFL_Josh
SLok
BFL_Sonny
BFL AM Dave
bcp19
nibbknot

I marked this information as confidential per this protective order, but this does not completely prevent the PMs from being made public. In particular, I believe that BFL has full access to the PMs and could choose to release them.

If you want to know exactly which PMs were released, respond to this PM and I'll look it up.

I regret that this was necessary. Hopefully it does not cause you any trouble.

open ur eyes ppl, theymos not to be trusted.

Actually, that is really nice of him. I'm surprise there wasn't a gag on the subpoena.
