Nah, just coffee for me. I can't stand energy drinks. There are a few that don't totally taste like synthetically created chemicals that don't occur in nature, but I'll just stick to the awesome dark-brown bean.
342  Other / Off-topic / Re: What you don't like ? on: July 17, 2014, 12:03:06 AM
For me, I just don't like people saying unnecessary lies.
Also, smoking in front of the women, children & elders is something I don't like at all.
I don't like any type of discrimination - be it social, political, financial or others based on age, sex, caste ,creed, work etc. I just hate it.
I don't like any biasedness also.

Wow, you've just contradicted yourself. Or maybe not contradicted, but effectively said that you don't like yourself. There's nothing wrong with that, you can try to improve  Smiley

Giant 80m Siberian crater at 'world’s end'

A mysterious giant crater has been discovered in a remote part of Siberia, dubbed by locals ‘the end of the world’, and is now puzzling scientists. An urgent expedition was sent to the far-northern peninsula to try and solve the mystery. The team arrives on Wednesday to survey the seemingly bottomless pit, located in one of Russia’s northernmost points, at a latitude closer to that of Greenland than Canada.

Has this been added to the thread with pictures of Russia? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=686828.0 I believe this would constitute a perfect addition to it!
344  Other / Off-topic / Re: Captchas on: July 16, 2014, 11:55:01 PM
I learned today that google perfected their algorithms to identify house numbers on streetview images so far that those algorithms have become able to decipher the craziest captchas! Not exactly what they wanted, I guess  Cheesy

i hope they bring their sha-256 cracking technologies just to piss every one off :]

Ha, has anybody even considered that they just won't even care about bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies? Everyone know they use space cash!!!
346  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: French regulators to limit Bitcoin anonymity on: July 16, 2014, 11:48:27 PM
It's interesting: People want Bitcoin to succeed and go mainstream. Yet, when it becomes accepted and governments actually go and apply rules that govern financial instruments, they start to complain...
347  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Stock Exchange - Do you want to be a stock broker? on: July 16, 2014, 11:44:24 PM
You are aware that there is https://www.havelockinvestments.com/ and you know about all the failed exchanges (BitFunder, ....)? I also believe that they didn't yield as much profit as their operators hoped for.
I've yet to hear about a successful stock that actually accomplishes something... Even ASICMiner seems dead in the water as of now!!!
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GREENBANK in Canada launched bitcoin subsidiaries on: July 16, 2014, 11:41:34 PM
GreenBank Capital Inc. (CNSX: GBC) announces that it has launched two new subsidiaries to invest in Bitcoin and Bitcoin startups. GreenBank believes that it is the first public company to establish a presence in Bitcoin, which is a completely decentralized digital cryptocurrency.
The two subsidiaries are Bitcoin Canada Investments Inc (“Bitcoin Canada”) which will invest exclusively in Bitcoin, and Bitcoin Angel Capital Inc (“Bitcoin Angel”) which will invest in early stage Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency focused companies. The management of GreenBank intends that a proportion of both Bitcoin Canada and Bitcoin Angel will in due course be spun off to GreenBank shareholders by way of a plan of arrangement, at which time they will make application for a public listing of their common shares on the CNSX. GreenBank has entered into management agreements with both companies to manage the Bitcoin investment portfolio for a fee equal to 10% of portfolio appreciation.

Just as Canada declares Bitcoin a form of money, the banks start to get their fingers on it. But I concur, it's a good thing. We need more development among those lines! Godspeed Canada!
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin alternative on: July 16, 2014, 11:40:12 PM
Manufacturing Fiat wastes more energy, incredibly more (i have answered this kind of threats three or four times). But if you are really worried about it, perhaps in a few years more efficient  and cheap mining hardware will be arrived...

It totally doesn't matter how efficient or affordable mining hardware is. We could power the whole network with a handful USB miners. It's the difficulty of scaling up a mining operation that makes the hash power rare, and thus a legitimate factor of gauging your commitment (which therefore can't be arbitrarily high). That's the core of the proof of work principle that makes bitcoin's distributed consensus possible.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some nights I think about this, and I just wanna cry. (How i missed the bus) on: July 16, 2014, 11:36:30 PM
Woah, those pictures are no fun at all. I mean, this looks like the back of my desk or my home server. In a corporate or productive environment this is un-administratable!

This is called Organc growth! lol 15 years of it. I managed and tried to clean it as much as i can for 5 years before we GTFO out of there.

I'm just imagining you plugging some patch cables in and out and suddenly the whole network gets stuck. You then just hang your coat over your chair and start to go away at an increasing pace  Cheesy
351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 16, 2014, 11:32:51 PM
A lot of coins being removed from the ask side in the last half-hour or so.

Edit: Meh... forget that, my chart was just wigging out.
bitcoinity.org?  Probably a bug in their software.

Just meant to ask the same. Do you guys also get a completely flat line for about 20$ in one/both directions? I thought it might've been a problem with the computer I'm currently on but it seems there's something awry.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This banker tricks us to do away with deflationary nature of bitcoin! on: July 16, 2014, 11:31:05 PM
We have to remain on the level of a nation's economy and use the psychology that applies to the regular person using a currency

OK, here is some psychology. From the standpoint of the consumer, they each have a vested interest in staying alive. As such, they require food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and energy. Every day. These are non- negotiable non-deferable expenses.

The economy will not grind to a halt just because the money in use is deflationary.

Don't make me trot out the cell phone counter-example...

It certainly won't grind to a halt, but expenses would potentially be postponed as long as possible. I'm also not claiming to be an expert on that field, there'll be far more people who can give you very good arguments how deflation is a bad thing, as well. The same applies to debts/credit. Yeah, debts can be a very serious thing, but they also allow people to gain access to things they couldn't afford otherwise. They now can use these resources to effectively bootstrap themselves out of their financial powerlessness.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is far from decentralized! on: July 16, 2014, 11:26:47 PM
Sorry I thought this was going to be a GigaHash 51% thread.  Trademarking the word doesn't really effect the coin.  Maybe it could effect the marketing of the coin -- maybe -- but I think a key issue is an effort to defend the trademark and that clearly has not happened.

Exactly. I also believed this would go in the realms of ghash.io bashing or something. Which is a threat we shouldn't just ignore, it may very well become a valid and serious problem. But the trademark claim from our Frappuccino loving friend doesn't come close to that threat.

355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff talked me out of bitcoin in 2011 on: July 16, 2014, 11:19:32 PM
I use to listen to the Peter Schiff show all the time. I bought gold because I believed in his theories. Gold hasn't done much. But he was dead wrong about bitcoin. In 2011, I learned about bitcoin from callers on his show. I looked into it and thought is was interesting didn't buy any at the time because he said it was a bubble and wouldn't last. If only I would have bought bitcoins in 2011 instead of gold I would be rich, rich, rich. A couple months ago I sold the gold and bought bitcoins. We'll see what the future brings. I don't listen to Peter Schiff anymore.

If it makes you feel better: You may very well just have ended up losing your Bitcoins to some scam or sold them prematurely during an earlier bubble only to re-buy at a higher price. You don't know if you'd still have all those Bitcoins that you'd have bought back in 2011!

357  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] CoiningSolutions.com HashFast Shares ฿2.5 = 20GH/s [CLOSED] on: July 16, 2014, 11:07:43 PM
I replied to your PM Sinewayv Smiley

But like Chef is saying, it's going to take a long time for this case to show some results.

To sum up what has been going on so far is they do not have enough to pay creditors, they are sitting on ASIC chips and may use them as repayment, they are granted the permission of new sales without acquiring new loans.

The biggest creditor DM- had a $2M B1 order, to which is now $15M in their claim. HF obviously cannot pay that, so they are open to accepting more hash power at a later time. This factor is important because whatever the decision is, that's a direct relations to all other creditors in the dilution refund. If they want the refund, that would hurt ours (and other smaller creditors) more than going the chip route.

Next decision made by the courts/creditors I'll post up here.

So they basically have been hindered at selling chips that might have been profitable 3/4 a year ago? I doubt they'll be able to squeeze anything out of liquidating that wasted silicon  Undecided
358  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is the p. computer i'm buying capable to mine or not ? on: July 16, 2014, 11:01:07 PM
There are certain vendors you should avoid at all cost.
There's also at least one thread dedicated to which vendors should be avoided according to members of this forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=323857.0

Do we have to submit the collect-form today or how long could we theoretically wait for this month? What timezone counts?
360  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Newbies PLEASE READ! ~ Least reliable ASIC company? on: July 16, 2014, 10:46:56 PM
It's a telling sign when BFL actually wins out over Hashfast which just recently declared bankruptcy and REALLY screwed people that invested in them.  lmao

Hashfast was just as douchy, they just didn't douche out on a large scale like BFL did. BFL fucked everyone over. Hashfast fucked over some people.

Yeah ScamFast was probably run worst than BFL....but the amount of damage they have done in total dollar/bitcoin value is 10x that of ScamFast.

HashFast was a pretty quick burn out, so to say... BFL are doing their thing now for at least 2 years!!! They don't appear to go down anytime soon. It's amazing to see how they lure more and more beginners into buying their products. Even their website looks the same as a year ago, people falling for the same promises and cleverly engineered marketing and advertisements!
