41  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 11, 2014, 04:48:02 PM
Look at this graph, how the hash rate has increased over the last week(s)!!! The new difficulty will skyrocket again! I wouldn't be surprised if this was ASICMiner's gear coming online!

42  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: August 11, 2014, 04:39:52 PM
Forget the $1m & $100,000 predictions, what's everyone's opinion on when bitcoin will hit $10,000?

That's still some time down the road. If there are bubbles in the future, we may see that next year, in 2015. But I don't think we'll be there until at least 2016, to be honest! But Bitcoin has surprised us before, hasn't it? I guess we'll just have to wait and see! Smiley

Massive dump on Stamp, panic everyone! Which exchange started it, does anyone know? Wow what a sad beginning for this week, in which so many people put their hopes and dreams in!

Less than a month after it first began accepting bitcoin, Dell has received a 85 BTC (over $50,000) order for a PowerEdge server order.

http://www.coindesk.com/dell-receives-50k-server-order-bitcoin/

That doesn't sound like it's a lot of money for Dell. I think it's a great thing that order has been made using Bitcoin, but it isn't an order out of the ordinary for Dell, I guess, right?
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Mixing on: August 11, 2014, 02:56:03 PM
What are some legitimate uses for mixing your coins? If you have done this who did you use and was it quick and safe to do?

I don't want people to know how many coins I have. If I send people coins from a big wallet or even an address that's being fed from a big wallet, they'd immediately know how much money I have! I just don't want people to know about that, it's not illegal to keep that for yourself! Smiley

Technically, if you reside in the US, then it is illegal under certain circumstances. Since Bitcoins are now subject to capital gains tax, then attempting to obscure your identity and/or your Bitcoin holdings with (or without) the intent of doing so in order to avoid paying tax is a legal, and possibly criminal, issue. According to the rumor mill, England and some parts of Europe might soon start taxing them as well. In the vein of this discussion, hiding one's wealth is indeed one of the primary reasons why people subscribe to coin mixing solutions, but saying that it's not illegal is not an acceptable defense if and when the government contests your reasoning.

Woah, really? Wow, didn't know that. Good thing, I'm not located there Cheesy But thinking about it, from the side of the IRS or something, this makes a lot of sense. It is a suspicious behavior! Maybe the current rules and regulations just aren't made for Bitcoin and shouldn't apply!
46  Economy / Speculation / Re: They told me bubble on: August 11, 2014, 12:33:47 PM
It seems the bubbelievers never stop hoping. Here's a graph on tradeview, credit goes to emanace.

https://www.tradingview.com/v/NRS4U5CA/

LE, quote from emanace: "I think Bitcoin is soon going to move into it's next parabolic phase."

What do you think about that? Are we cooking something? Is the rocket being fueled?

So we're supposed to bounce off $562 on 19 Aug?? Seems like a good plan, although I really don't want to see bitcoin going down any further! But if we then assume a full-blown moon course, I'm all in for that assessment! Looks like a good analysis in my books!
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Am I the only one who wants bitcoin to tank? on: August 11, 2014, 12:29:49 PM
I check the crypto charts every day... Just waiting for a good crash. Like the last time, I bought 1 Bitcoin at $380. My only mistake was not buying more.

Long term I think it will be over $1,000 again... But this short term stability is so boring.

I know the best thing for Bitcoin is stability...but the best thing for Dr. Bitcoin is a nice healthy CRASH. My money is ready to go!! Just when?

We don't need to go down. People who say the longs need to be shaken out are wrong in my books! Why would we need to shake them out? We just need a good breakout to the north and start burning some shorts! As soon as they cascade, we have a full blown moon-rallye on our hands! That's what we need!
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: sideways for so long now.... on: August 11, 2014, 12:28:38 PM
stability like this generally precedes growth....but damn if it isn't boring

Yessssss! That's exactly what I'm thinking. We've seen this before. Not only 1 time, but 2, 3, 4 times maybe!!! It's just a sign that the next bubble is just around the corner. I can almost feel it bubbling already Cheesy Better boring sideways movements, than going down, I'd say!
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high will the next bubble go? on: August 11, 2014, 12:27:34 PM
4k to 5k but its just a guess, no body knows.

Maybe Satoshi knows! He's such a genius and it wouldn't surprise me if he actually has a model that accurately described every part of Bitcoins development, including the price. He could make a fortune with that!

Wow guys, last night I dreamed friedcat was about to test the first gen 4 BE300 sample and it turned out that it had problems even worse than the BE200 power draw problems! I'm a bit shaky right now and don't know if I should use this information to base my trading decisions on. But I did want to warn you guys.
edit: gen4
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 11, 2014, 12:24:50 PM
This is where institutional investors come in.

Bitcoin is making fiat look so volatile recently.  I am glad to have my money in a safe currency  Tongue

Naaah, those are just some nice words flying around the forums for a week or two recently... Bitcoin is still the most volatile currency we currently have (apart from altcoins, maybe), and it still has a rather shallow market cap or order books.
But yeah, we need institutional money or money from big risky investors. I think Bitcoin may not even be big enough for that Cheesy
52  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high will the next bubble go? on: August 11, 2014, 12:22:35 PM
It won't go that high. We still need more adoption in order to justify a higher price! I think we might see USD $2000 if the bubble starts this year, or maybe USD $3000 if we wait for some time and give Bitcoin more time to gain traction!
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the next bubble start? on: August 11, 2014, 12:21:26 PM
I just go out on a limp here and say the next bubble will start Dec 1st, because that's almost exactly the date when the last bubble (Nov 2013) burst and went down from its ATH. It would be a nice coincidence.
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is TA evidence-based? on: August 11, 2014, 12:19:37 PM
There are people who back-tested certain indicators. It's a very interesting example. And actually showed that simple indicators like the macd actually perform pretty well when used to base your trading decisions on them. But More complex indicators may turn out to be difficult to rate, because only time will tell if they're really useful. I believe in light TA
55  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does God judge the nations? on: August 11, 2014, 12:16:45 PM
I think it depends on the god in question (or the supposedly god in question). If they are nice gods they'll most likely only ask their followers to adhere to certain rules or principles. I don't think they'd judge states or nations in general, but rather individual people, according to the things they've done. But then again, there may be 'evil' gods who demand to be the only god.
56  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you either No. 1 on: August 11, 2014, 12:12:27 PM
I would rather wear clothes than freeze my ass off....wouldn't you?

Wow, I didn't think about the cold when I said I'd rather leave my clothes at home. I guess it works if you're located in a rather warm environment. But not if you're in like Canada or something. Man, I think I'll have to re-think that one...

Then all other people around you will freeze to death, and you will starve to dead or be eaten by a bear. If you is the no clote guy, you may die, but at least people will worship you as the savior that resigned our clothes so others can have a chance to survive

or everyone will look at you like a freak

you seriously think anyone would believe that?

Hahaha, You know, people do believe the craziest thing! Religion is based on such stories most of the time. Cheesy But you are right, I guess he won't be admired as some kind of savior just for not wearing any clothes!
57  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best signature campaign for "member" rank? on: August 11, 2014, 12:10:54 PM
Today I reached the member rank, what is the best sign campaign I can join and why?
Thanks

Go with PrimeDice. They don't pay thaaaat much for members, but rarely any campaign does, actually! Good thing is, that you'll be a Full Member soon and get better rates then. I guess according to your activity it'll take another 2 months or so for you!
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me to make the right desicion on: August 11, 2014, 12:09:24 PM
Hey guys.

What do you think is the best online wallet coinbase or blockchain?

I really do not whant to lose my coins same as mgtox or whats the name.

Go with blockchain.info!!! You can get hold of your private key. Coinbase is more a service if you want to buy BTC and not to be used as an online wallet, as far as I know. But you may want to consider using a light wallet on your machine. It's safer and more reliable!

60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet Backup - How while mining? on: August 11, 2014, 12:06:30 PM
Just back up your wallet.dat. Or wherever your private keys are stored! It doesn't matter whether you receive new coins after you backed your wallet up, because the only thing that matters are the private keys to your addresses where the coins end up in! Keep those safe at all times!
