281  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 21, 2014, 07:06:38 PM
1k bought during the 11am hr candle...and it didn't move the chart the way it did the last time we had a 1k buy hr candle.

I still think whales are accumulating

It currently seems as if nothing can move us neither upwards nor downwards. The 620s will be the new 450s, mark my words! Remember: You're here forever!
282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who believes in $10,000 a coin? on: July 21, 2014, 07:03:04 PM
I feel that $10,000 a coin is Bitcoin's destiny easily. Given the amount of growth and maturity that comes along with it and the limited supply of Bitcoins in circulation, its only a matter of time when $10,000/BTC will be the new $100/BTC.

Chime in!

I believe in it. Why not! If we look at things all to negatively, it won't do us any good. Yeah, we should remain realistic, I know. But look at the brighter side: People have always said that bitcoin was overvalued - until its value grew by 1000%
283  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Havelock Investments - Exchange feedback/comments on: July 21, 2014, 06:59:41 PM
Why do some stocks have huge yield (over 500%) while others have the conservative ~4%? Does it factor down to risk vs. payoff?

The formula is:

Annual Yield = (Annual Dividends/Share Price)x100

Annual dividends assumes last dividend.

So for a share that pays weekly:

Annual Yield = ((last dividendx52)/Share Price)x100

How sustainable is the high yield stock?

Anyone actually making money betting on bitcoin company?

It might not be sustainable at all, you can clearly see the problem with this formula assuming only the latest dividend.

There's money to be made, but it's not easy...

Well it seems with even ASICMiner going down the river there's no more money to be made with bitcoin stock in the near future. There need to be new stocks that actually offer something that can work. The whole scene needs to mature. Also, Havelock needs to implement the long-promised "only-withdraw-to-this-addresss-address"

285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where are the SELLERS??!? on: July 21, 2014, 06:47:16 PM
It's the summer effect.

People are taking a break from cryptos.

Every major pump which happened, it happened in November ( If I'm not wrong ).

Nah, what about the March/April 2013 bubble? But you're right that people are most probably taking a summer break or similar. When do you people think they'll be back and ready to throw some money at BTC again? I believe it could very well be late summer rather than fall already!

The previous bubbles didn't started all in the same period of the year and when it happened was just a coincidence.
There is always a real reason which trigger the rally, maybe the next will be the wall street big guys, who knows.

I really thought the SR US-Marshalls auction would be this year's trigger. The price actually went up quite a bit, but not enough to call it a major uptrend or the beginning of a new bubble. Also, unfortunately we went down a couple percent since this and are stagnating around the current level...
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for somebody to collect all bitcoins? on: July 21, 2014, 06:42:05 PM
Definitely possible but not very probable. They could be the fetish obsession of some weird and creepy collector one day. He'd polish his BTC all day long and show them to strangers without being asked to. Talk about tainted coins!
287  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: July 21, 2014, 06:40:04 PM
It already collapsed

1971 Milk .51 cents Gal USD in USA on gold standard

1971 Nixon Leaves Gold Standard

2014 Milk 4.50 Gal USD compare that to .0072 btc

People gonna love BTC and low numbers

Wow milk is only .00000001 btc soon

haha

Well I wouldn't exactly call this 'failed'. It's just good old inflation. Happens. The wages also increased over time. But hey, if you're right we could swim in milk all day long. Poor cows!
288  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your dream job? on: July 21, 2014, 06:38:06 PM
I'd love to work in one of those bitcoin mines everyone's talking about but I don't have much experience with a pick-axe, apart form that one haunting summer in the woods  Embarrassed
Do you know where I can apply for a job? I've also hear that most of those mines are located in china. Do they have woods there?
289  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: July 21, 2014, 06:35:27 PM
Breaking Bad, best TV serie ever.

What happened to the other 18 Heisenbergs?
290  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your favourite adventure activity? on: July 21, 2014, 06:34:13 PM
Fishing , hiking and camping in the forest. Me and my family usually do this every month.

That's great! Aren't you afraid of being attacked by wild bears or something? Spending an extended time in the wilderness seems pretty dangerous. But there's always some breakage I guess... A real adventure!
291  Other / Off-topic / Re: 69.6969 BTC Loan on: July 21, 2014, 06:30:39 PM
The interesting part of it is that he actually contacted some people at the Bitcoin Foundation (the one we love to hate) and asked them for their support. Sometimes you have to got to bed with the devil to get your money back I guess  Tongue
292  Other / Off-topic / Re: Blackphone - are you buying one? on: July 21, 2014, 06:27:04 PM
Blackphone seems shitty and oveerpriced compared to Oneplusone:

Blackphone is powered by a >2 GHz quad-core SoC and features a full set of premium features, such as a 4.7" HD IPS screen, LTE, HSPA+, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 16GB of storage, >8MP primary camera with flash and 1.3MP front camera, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n WiFi, GPS, and more. Certain specifications are subject to change and may be adjusted prior to shipping the first phones later this year.

Oneplusone has a full 1080px HD 5.5-inch screen, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 64GB of internal memory, CyanogenMod 11s Custom OS, 13 megapixel (rear) and 5 megapixel (front) camera – Sony Exmor sensor, Dual LED and 4K video support.

Blackphone is 629$
Oneplusone is 350$

I think you know which one I'm going to take...

So people are still comparing phones or anything in terms of the pure performance specs. This has always been pretty stupid. It says very little about the actual quality of the components, the quality of the surrounding hardware and the actual performance and experience provided by the operating system!

How I'm supposed to know which has better quality?
Wait two yeras and ask my friend how their phones have lasted and then buy best one?
Or buy most overpriced product and hope I get some qulity too?

Well you can see how the phones feel and compare them to each other. If it squeaks and screeches, well... decide for yourself. You can also await reviews how they perform. And just try and experience or try out the operating system! I can't believe so many Android phones still have such a stuttery scrolling. Awful, it just feels bad and low quality.
293  Other / Off-topic / Re: Precognition anyone? on: July 21, 2014, 06:22:55 PM
So how much would you charge me for an exclusive warning prior to a bitcoin price crash? What are your success rates and how much in advance are you able to forecast those things?
294  Other / Off-topic / Re: Got to play the lottery today on: July 21, 2014, 06:21:32 PM
Okay so you actually sell overseas as well, you said? That indeed makes it more improbable. But I'd guess that otherwise it's far more probable than you might think. Most shipments usually don't leave the country and it's not exactly 7 billion potential customers you serve. But hey, maybe you should solo mine for a day if your luck is running hot right now!
295  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: July 21, 2014, 06:19:00 PM
The sun is scorching hot, it's not fun anymore. I pray for rain and some fresh air, but the sun keeps on laughing and sending it fiery electromagnetic radiation down on us. Why does it keep doing that? Do you think it will eventually decide to stop doing it?
296  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Dell is now the world's largest ecommerce business to accept #bitcoin" on: July 21, 2014, 06:15:28 PM
Still waiting for Amazon to join in.

What about Ebay and Paypal?

Paypal accepting Bitcoin? That would be ironic. I imagine it being more accepted on there, as in the terms, but not a wallet.

Well some big guy back at eBay said that he actually bought some BTC and confirmed that eBay has to integrate cryptocurrencies into PayPal at some point. The market did a small run that day. They're well aware of bitcoin and observing it, I guess. Better join it or be left behind. (If they can't destroy it Tongue)

298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoins are not stolen .. on: July 21, 2014, 02:02:30 PM
Here is what I do. For cold storage it is really simple. I keep copies of the public and private keys and send coins to the public address. I don't need to worry about any software until it is time to spend the coins, which I have never done to date.

Even then you won't necessarily have to worry about the keys! You could just sign your transactions on an offline device that's never connected to the internet and then publish the transaction on your main machine. That way no one can ever get hold of your private keys!
299  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Pointless? ? ? I think not? (titol edit) on: July 21, 2014, 02:00:38 PM
Well, there is an exchange rate for Bitcoin/Altcoins which is effectively bound to the price of Bitcoins/Altcoins in USD so it wouldn't make that much sense in exchanging your BTC for Altcoins... Plus, you'll most likely lose even more due to trading the coins on an exchange.
300  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: jdany's MOF - BTC Garden - July 18 1.2T Buy on: July 21, 2014, 01:51:14 PM

Don't tell anyone where your exact whereabouts are! If you've got a big enough mining farm, people will try to break into it and steal your stuff. The big mining operations over in China are a top-secret endeavour!
