No i am solo-ing with the wallet, dumping everything on the exchange before the price plummets

Thats one stupid miner, i've been getting a lot of blocks solo mining with about the same hash rate, 3x more than the pool pays.

current  "difficulty" : 0.07642423,

Difficulty was 0.29xxxxx yesterday

Solo would be the best option with current diff. But slimminer never works for me in linux? Did you manage to solomine in linux or you use windows?
Btw so you are the one who dumps SLM price to the ground, right?  Grin
With your hashing power and current interest in this coin, no wonder the price drops more than 2000%.

I dump no more than 1000/day so no, i am not the only one. I use linux wallet to solo, i run 30 instances on 1 server and mine from other servers via slimminer.

slimminer in linux works solo for you? I mean the servers you got slimminer running is linux too, right?
Cool. Would you mind sharing your config and where do you get the slimminer? I tried a lot and it never works.
Thanks in advance.

I paid a bounty for wallet and slimminer static builds. I'm now releasing them to everyone :

First time i feel sorry for the suckers...err..investors that bought my slm at 005-007 in the first 48h after launch.

could you please explain what will happen if i burn 1 coin? or 0.1?

Great explanation from earlier in the thread:

  • PoB is the same as mining contracts! This is great, because every miner doing PoB has the same probability of hitting PoB blocks. Further burning coins is like extending your mining contract, not contracting more hashing power.
  • You can know how much of your burnt coins has been used to hash on PoB via the decay feature. Decay/Confirmed Burnt coins = Percentage done of the "mining contract".

No its not. The more coins you burn the more chance of hitting a PoB block. If you burn only 10 coins chances you find a PoB block are almost none. Don't fucking spread misinformation.

You're right. From the whitepaper: "The more coins that are burnt, the smaller this unique burn hash will be, making it more likely to be valid and accepted by the network."

Gonna go back and edit my post.

The whole concept of PoB is just stupid in my opinion, more or less the same as PoS. This coin is dead.

Dead? So you are not the one with 180 khs @ slimmerpool right now?

Look at my post 1-2 pages back, i had mysterious send-outs to my own address for no apparent reason. broken wallet, broken coin.

Yeah, I've read that :/ Too bad the developer abandoned the coin. It seemed like a good concept.

I dont like the concept at all, you still need to mine PoW in order to keep PoB dominance.

What i would like to know is who pushed this broken coin into bter.com. I'm sure it was not done for profit.  I dumped 90% of total volume in the first 24h, no one else.
1309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 06, 2014, 11:15:07 PM
Everytime I send SLM to BTER, the network fee keeps getting higher. Today 0.37 SLM, and now 0.44 SLM. WTF!

Whats going on at the exchange, i used to sell slim at 0.005, 10x what its worth today Sad Damn, i should have sold ALL..

Dev is nowhere to be found, seems like he gave up. No wonder, wallet is so buggy it would take a month to fix.

I should have sold all my coins when they were 0.005 :/ I think I will stop mining this coin. A lot of bugs and dev dissapeared :S

I am out too, not burning any, diverting all my PoB leftovers to the exchange. The concept of burning is just bad. Dont get me even started on the first post - "New Block Generation through Proof-of-Burn Even a Raspberry Pi can competitively mine, fast hardware offers no advantage". Such bullshit.

The fix seems to be working nicely. Smiley

Yeah I just got a bunch of transactions and a "mint by burn" transaction with +21.something coins I don't know what that means but I'm ok with it  Grin

did you really got the 21.x credited? I also just hab a PoB block with 21.x coins in it, but after 7+ confirms it just disappeared Oo It's not even shown in the transaction history anymore.

I have a theory: is it possible that normal transactions sometimes are somehow mistakenly shown as PoB blocks? It might be, that my 21.x coin PoB block is now shown as a transaction from the pool with 0.02x coins...

Ignore the icons and gui, ignore everything -qt shows in the transaction history. Focus only on listtransactions command.

I have just increased the pool payout by 10% per worker temporarily!

I urge everyone to wait until wallet problems are fixed by the dev. I am missing at least 3-5 payouts from the pool. Blocks were confirmed but no payouts have been sent.

Anyway, diff is low, solo mining is now possible.

If the blocks were confirmed it would obviously have paid out, what is your address? I'll send you some compensation so you can shut up.

No thank  you. I dont take bribes.

How can  you afford to pay a %10 bonus ? Why pay out of your own pocket ? I smell scam Smiley

I have just killed 180KH/s to the pool and i suggest others do the same, pool is not paying out and there are problems with the wallet.
Several payouts appear to have come in just now.

Now the question is.. will you re-connect? Wink

No i will not as i am missing payments for couple of blocks. Difficulty has dropped so i will solo mine. I've got over 20% of pools hash power so i should be getting some blocks. Downside is i have to run XX instances of the buggy wallet to accept all incomming connections......
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 06, 2014, 02:35:12 PM
There's a bug or something. For example, I received a PoB block. In transactions, it shows (amount) 10.74. But if I click details, it says: +0.202502 SLM

Happened to me 3 times already. Is it a visual bug, or I'm not receiving all the coins I should?

Lol same somehow got 2 burn blocks like this. Oddly though the wallet that mined em was shutdown at the time!!! on sync this morning 2 pob's between pool payments im quite confused as i thought the wallet had to be running for pob  Huh

I noticed a few days ago that if you send coins from a PoB block from one wallet to another, they show up with the burn icon in the UI. So maybe the pool generated a couple of PoB blocks and split them among the pool miners. I received a couple of blocks like that at as well, at an address I've only used for pool mining.

Wait till you start seeing transactions going OUT of your wallet to unknown addresses for amounts of 0.X ... If you encrypt/lock the wallet, you wont get any PoB blocks...

I can provide a block explorer, if someone would release the python module for the hash algo, I'm sure the person that run the pool has this as it is needed to run the pool as far as I know, the dev can def do this.

I think that pool is written in NodeJS but I have made a python module. I will upload it soon.

Thanks, we would love to see a p2pool in action , any chance you get the work done without a hard fork ?

On another note, guys stop sending traffic to the pool, it has not paid anyone for the last couple of blocks!

1320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Myriad [1st Multi-PoW] SMS Wallet Announced [Closed Beta Now / Public Soon] on: June 06, 2014, 10:51:07 AM
It's impossible to have a CPU-only algo. Whatever a CPU can do, a GPU at one point or another will be able to do better.

Not true. Anyway, dev should take a look at Proof-of-Burn algo currently implemented by Slimcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=613213.0). It works by burning coins you mine. The more you burn the more
stake you have in the PoB - more blocks. Burning coins equates to more hashing power. Similar to PoS but better. We need this to stop the dumpers, give them an incentive to hold & burn.
