Where is the guy who bragged about coding experience and wanted to run a PoB pool ? Go submit the rpcthread function (bitcoinrpc.cpp) commin on git for a $35(0.05btc) bounty!! Should not take more than 1 hour, just copy/paste from any other coin.
1362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 03, 2014, 02:42:04 PM
To everyone out there... patience, PoB blocks happen... just have some patience and wait for them.

How many /day ? How do we check how many PoB have been created so far ?
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 03, 2014, 02:36:06 PM
I'm unsure for long-term, but I don't think I'm prepared to burn many more coins over the short-term in this experiment, which may of course be a long-term mistake. Although this could make for a nice retirement fund perhaps.

Now, that's a real yin-yang coin, you constantly facing the dilemma: to burn (to get more minting power) or not to burn (to keep more coins)

Smiley

I've had no such dilemma - i dumped 12btc worth so far to ensure profit. I will now be burning until the price on exchange recovers.
1364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 03, 2014, 02:27:43 PM
I am placing another 0.05BTC bounty for rpcthreads function. Bounty will be released to the person whos commit is accepted by the dev on github.

User ltcnim can confirm i've already paid out 0.1BTC for a static linux miner.
Can you post a link to the static linux executables?

I will in 24h, i only got them last night Smiley

Lets fork it again so we can enjoy some more easy diff. Smiley

How about lets not.  Grin

Some folks must just have to much 'money to burn'.  Roll Eyes

"Greed is bad, very very bad".

- Hopefully good progress is being made with a PoW pool though.

I can see this coin becoming quite valuable in time with its fast reducing money supply. Rarity vs scarcity - supply and demand and all that.

Guessing that well over 1/2 to 2/3rd's of the total money supply will be 'burned' into the either that is PoB.

"Formatted nEffectiveBurnCoins" : "40709.543914"
I've got over 10% of the amount above and only get 5-6 PoB blocks/day. PoB is not so profitable... OR the dev was wrong saying its the same mining PoB from one box or from 100 boxes.

We still dont know/can not check how many PoB blocks are spawned every day. Is it a fixed or a random number ?

Slimminer Update

Slimminer source code for pool stratum mining up on Github here: https://github.com/slimcoin/slimminer

There are no pools. Update the wallet so we can set mre rpcthreads

The source for Slimcoin is available of Github. If you wish to add more rpcthreads to Slimcoin, that would be greatly appreciated. Send me a pull request and I will review it.

Is there a quick fix for this ? Change something in the current source so to allow more than 8 threads ? Which file should i be looking at, bitcoinrpc.cpp ?

The rpcthreads command is not yet implemented so, no there is no quick fix. You should add another function in bitcoinrpc.cpp if you plan on doing the implementation.
Come on Dev, if you are too lazy to copy/paste the code from some other coin give instructions how to modify the current source, there must be a way to raise the limit without adding another function.

Because it's not in Tongue

What a stupid buggy wallet. Can i set the max in the source and recompile ?

Please also fix the issue with encryption and mining. Make it possible to mine PoW and PoB when wallet is encrypted/locked.
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 02, 2014, 06:05:02 PM
Still waiting for PoB block, haven't seen anything in the past 3 days after burnt 250 coins..
 Angry

by the way, developer, can you help me to take a look at the pm i sent you? I suspect there are some problem with wallet.

Read the previous few posts moron, the coin is broken and we are waiting for the dev to fork it.
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 02, 2014, 03:11:21 PM
We have a real problem with the coin. Just look at your debug.log. Mine is full of new POW block founds that are rejected due to the check below in main.cpp.
Quote
  if(bnTarget <= 0 || bnTarget > bnProofOfWorkLimit)
    return error("CheckProofOfWork() : nBits below minimum work");

I am not surprised. The DEV is a fucking tard.
1380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 02, 2014, 02:40:08 PM
We are frozen at block 4258. POW blocks are not accepted by wallet/daemon due to low difficulty(?). There is an actual check in the code.
Quote
 if(bnTarget <= 0 || bnTarget > bnProofOfWorkLimit)
    return error("CheckProofOfWork() : nBits below minimum work");
It looks like we need a hard fork. DEV, look at the problem ASAP.

I think its the difficulty retargeting that is causing slow blocks, lets give it couple more minutes.

EDIT: Still on 4258. Not good.
