Next HARD-FORK is happening in 26 days ?! Which clients will no longer be compatible ?!

He is ofcourse lying about his mining and of how profitable mining is.  Mining was very profitable when price was halved. Now is super profitable. But for sure miners will join with time.

Do the math yourself idiot. A single GTX 800 hashes at 600H/s - that is .2 XMR per day
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 25, 2016, 10:53:16 PM
Now mining only 13 blocks on average per day, with the new diff increase i'll be lucky if i do 10...

What kinda hardware do you do that with? I have a gtx 980. I wonder if I could ever get any blocks with that.

A 1m usd company server cluster. You will need at least 500 gtx 980 cards to hash at 410KH/s. Mining monero would not be profitable even if the price went up x10.

Hehe you are one stupid trader

Anyone going to try to call the top?

The price is going down back to .005 once XMR deposits are re-enabled on Polo. They've been re-syncing their wallets for 13 hours now...
''resyncing their wallet''  also known as selling their pumped up XMR

Yes, Poloniex is pulling an ETC-like stunt again... Turned into a such a shady exchange..

10 days ago i left for Mykonos and shut down all my gear. My flight is in the morning so I had a reason to turn laptop on...

.008 ? ALL TIME HIGH ? I remember when bakaboy & pttx paid mintpal admin 200btc to add XMR - it was .008 for a short while...
I am pretty sure .01 will be the new low in the weeks to come...

It is highly secure network. 100 cards and almost nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if XMR gets its own "attacker". If botnet operators get together (these guys keep in touch via one Chinese forum) they could easily wreak havoc - double spend or worse...

I've never heard core devs mention possibility of PoW algo change... Make 16GB RAM a requirement and 80%+ of botnets (low spec machines in latin america, china and russia) will be gone forever...
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 21, 2016, 01:03:41 PM
Please botnet admins, move on to some other coin, you are killing my profits... Go back to mining ETH or whatever you were mining before 30. June....

Current difficulty : 2915731376
100 card farm brings in a profit of $9/day
1,000 card farm - $90

No one sane other than botnets mines this shitcoin... I'm shutting down mining on my company cluster on 1. Sept, adding some cpu intensive apps, mining is not going to cut it anymore so - GTFO botnets NOW!!

Will a successful ETH hard fork suck capital out of other cryptos like XMR temporarily ?

You're forgetting BTC... Dropped 2% just after the HF...I'm expecting another 2% drop within the next 24h

The alarm function is not good enough ! Make the alarm go off until closed (just like a wake-up alarm). A single notification is a joke

Monero is so unprofitable to mine for the average Joe that I believe 90% are botnets.. Sad...

It seems you are wrong and is quite profitable to mine.

There are a lot of different measures of value for a coin like XMR. There is the current value in btc on exchanges, there is the hopium value, supported by assorted conjectures and beliefs wrt the relationship between features (like a new GUI) and price, there is the ideological view of value, usually supported by assertions and beliefs wrt features a coin provides (like anonymity) and their perceived effect on future adoption and then there is the real value, which is somewhere just above the cost of producing a coin.

I mine, but not monero. I asked because I was curious how closely the exchange value in btc approaches the cost of mining at this time.

well, the most efficient way to mine is probably the 750 ti.

At current network difficulty, thats 0.09 xmr / day.

The card pulls ~33 watts.

At a rate of 12 cents / kWh, thats $0.09504 per day.

so if any of the math works, thats roughly 95 cents per xmr. So right now its very profitable to mine, if hardware is all paid for.

$0.095 per day on a single card, so a 100 card farm would make $9/day Smiley Just go outside and sell lemonade, you'll make more.

Monero is run by botnets, period. I can account for 11MH/s (almost 50% of total net hash)  spread across 17 wallets of pure botnet power (got proof, willing to share for 1btc escrow).

Botnets are raping Monero. So far I can account for 11MH/s of botnet hash (almost 50%). The hash is spread across 17 wallets. I'll be willing to share my sources for 1btc - escrow accepted.

Seems like btc newcomers have all started mining Monero... ATH difficulty, 303xxxxx
Price is way to low for the new hashrate... I'm beginning to worry its actually coming from botnets...
